Thank you! And yeah, I was planning on altering sea levels for personal use, I just wanted to make the base be as simple as possible.
Continuation of my French early-wank-then-screw TL, though I kinda changed my idea of Serbia's alignment. The war erupted in 1917 when the Ausgleich failed and Hungary asked for Russian help to be free. The Entente included Hungary, Russia, France, Serbia, Romania and Italy while the Central Powers was comprised of Austria, Germany, Ottoman, Bulgaria and Sweden-Norway. Later Japan joined the CPs and opened a 2nd front against Russia, setting up a Manchurian puppet with Puyi on the throne in the process, which greatly antagonized the USA and forced them to join. Portugal, Spain, Greece and the Netherlands remained strictly neutral, the CSA also did the same, having a headache of the boll weevil devastating their cotton industry. Britain stayed neutral at first to take care of the Irish uprising and only joined the war at the last moment to prevent Germany from gobbling up everything. The US was offered a white peace but had to recognize the CPs' gains. Britain would acknowledge German gains on the continent only if they didn't claim any French colonies. The same term didn't apply for other CP members though.
During the next 2 decades, a series of syndicalist revolutions happened across the globe, starting with France (1922) and then Italy (1923), Mexico (1925), China (1930), Chile (1931). The communist revolution in Russia was crushed though and replaced by a shaky republic which, with the ascendance of Anastasy Vonsiatsky, turned into a fascist counterpart of OTL Italy. Meanwhile, the Beiyang government survived in this TL due to Yuan Shikai, being a little bit healthier than OTL, didn't declare himself emperor and died suddenly in 1916. The power gap was quickly filled by Duan Qirui, which led to a more stable China temporarily. However, when the Khanate of Mongolia under Roman von Sternberg invaded Inner Mongolia in support of Tibet during the Sino-Tibetan War in 1930, Wang Jingwei quickly seized the opportunity to establish a syndicalist state in the South. During the 1930s, Russia propped up an Uyghurstan puppet state whose northern territory was eaten up by Alash Orda - another Russian vassal.
Some notes on the CPs' side: Wilhelm II died young in this TL so Heinrich became Kaiser, which averted the Anglo-German naval race and led to much warmer relationship between the two. Austria in this TL was better reformed under Ferdinand Maximilian who refused to go to Mexico and assumed the throne in 1866 after Franz Josef abdicated, being extremely depressed about Austrian defeats under his reign. When Franz Ferdinand federalized the empire later on, he had better successes and scared the Magyars into secret talks with Russia. Once Hungary was crushed, Vienna could finally focus on the work and even absorb the rump duchy of Bosnia and the Venetian buffer state into the imperial federation (the latter case was due in large part to the successful syndicalist revolution in Italy). In the Far East, Japan also fared better in this TL. Having not received the humiliating treatment at Versailles in OTL and a less severe Kanto earthquake did help to prevent the military to take over the government. Japan didn't expect the foundation of the People's Republic of China but was willing to play the two Chinas against each other to secure its supremacy in East Asia. They were more worried about von Sternberg's Mongolia despite a non-aggression pact being signed.
The year is 1939, before the start of the Spanish Civil War. I still have no idea how WW2 should play out.
P/S: I admitted that this TL is not realistic, I have just started making maps for about a week so I need to satisfy my inner thirst for Kaiserreich wanks a little bit.

The Crawling Chaos
POD: 1941 AD. For very complicated reasons (the US stays neutral longer because of no Pearl Harbor, and the USSR-Germany conflict doesn't begin in earnest until after the Nazis have been able to greatly compromise the UK), World War II is a much longer slog that ends up permanently derailing Europe. The greys and blacks represent not a Nazi reich but a state of chaos - the darker the worse, and Europe is widely seen as a lost cause by 1981. Ethnic nationalism is more or less nonexistent as the various colonial states-in-exile have been able to resist the trainwreck that is Europe north of the Pyrenees; indeed, nationalism is seen as the cause for the predicament Europe is in. In 1978, the remaining European successor states and governments-in-exile agree to form a federation in order to better coordinate the stabilization and rebuilding of their home continent. The members of the Association of Western States include:
Portugal - Capital Lisbon. The most affluent and stable country with a capital currently in Europe. Angola, Mozambique, CV, Goa, and Guinea-Bissau are well integrated into the Portuguese Republic, whose population has swelled thanks to immigration from Catholic parts of Europe.
Spain - Capital Madrid. Franco is doing an okay job holding down both the Maquis and ultra-fascists, but he still is very dependent on colonial troops loaned by Portugal.
The United Kingdom of the British and Irish - Multinational kingdom with capital in Salisbury (Harare). Regional co-capitals include Mumbai, Calcutta, Lagos, Accra, Georgetown, and St. John's. Much whiter than you'd expect from the list of territories, mainly due to the migration of British subjects from the Isles. Newfoundland has been designated an officially Celtic province.
The Kingdom of Italy - Capital Lecce. Still has nominal control over most of the Italian peninsula, but only Calabria, a few of their islands, and parts of Libya still have a semblance of state control. The Taranto Trench keeps warlords and the like out.
French Republic ("West France") - Capital Dakar. The more liberal of the two French governments, which grew out of the Free French.
French State ("East France") - Capital Tananarive. The more conservative French regime, led by moderate elements of the Axis puppet regime that have agreed to work with the other European states. The site of Europe smoldering while their black and Arab subjects generally went about their business led to them dropping the most racist elements of fascism.
Kingdom of the Netherlands - Capital Paramaribo. Population has swollen due to migration from the mainland. A candidate for the title "Sick Man of Europe".
Kingdom of Belgium - Capital Leopoldville. Has more land area than the Netherlands, but it's mostly Congolese jungle. About 80% black, 10% affluent white, and 10% white refugees who compete with the poorest Africans for work.

Elsewhere, Tibet has emerged as a major player in Asian politics, grabbing several princely states from the strained British Empire as well as portions of Qinghai. There is a movement within Tibet to claim the imperial throne and therefore staking a claim to all of China as the Sino-Japanese(-Soviet) war rages on. Back-channel talks between Moscow, Tokyo, and Lhasa have fueled the hopes of royalists in Tibet. Iran has been able to move out of the Soviet sphere due to the Soviets better hardening their borders against the failed states to the West and against the Association of Western States, and are reportedly in talks to increase influence in Kuwait and Afghanistan.

Finally getting around to finishing this:
Planet Earth aka Tosev-3. Local date: January 1, 1963. The world has largely recovered from The Race invasion in June 1944, only barely holding back the alien menaces until peace was achieved in May of 1946 at the Santo Domingo (aka the "Peace of Santo Domingo") between the major Human powers and the Empire of The Race. Over the next two decades, the remaining nations of Earth began to pick up the pieces as the United States Congress approved the American-European Recovery Program (known otherwise as the Marshall Plan) to grant 14 billion dollars to Latin America (primarily Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, and Brazil) and Western Europe to assist them in recovering from either the Second World War or the Race Invasion. In contrast, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Yugoslavia, and the Japanese Empire were left out of the Plan and were forced to recover largely on their own.
With it's current capital in Denver Colorado due to the destruction of Washington DC during the Invasion, the United States of America is the world's foremost military superpower outranking the USSR, the French Fourth Republic, and Germany. The states that became battlegrounds during The Race invasion have largely recovered from the damage (at least the major cities and industrial centers) resulting in the United States' current economic boom. However things for the US is not all well. For beginners the cities of Washington D.C, Springfield, Tampa, Cleveland, and Reno will not be inhabitable until the turn of the century due to the Race's Explosive Metal Bombs dropped on those cities while Albuquerque, Tuscon, and San Antonio were among the cities destroyed by American nuclear weapons, which were used as traps on the invading Conquest Fleet due to the lack of Human delivery systems during the Invasion. Protest against the "Jim Crow" laws are arising across the southern United States demanding an end to racial discrimination though a vast majority of the south refuses to do away with the laws both due to generations of preexisting bigotry and cases of Blacks serving on the Race's side during the occupation of the south. While the US military has been desegregated since August of 1945 (though not made official until 1950), the issue of countrywide desegregation will prove to be a hurdle for both President Ted Kennedy and American Civil Rights activists.
While not invaded by The Race the island nations of Cuba, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic are solid American allies in the region along with receiving an increasing amount of foreign aid as a "thank you" for the three countries sending troops to fight the Race in Central America alongside American, Free Mexican, and Central American forces at America's "request". Cuban, Haitian, and Dominican forces were mostly famous for their service in the defense of Managua and the Panama Canal. Cuba had been a source of unrest since the Communist Revolution of 1959 which failed thanks to the combined efforts of local Cuban forces and US Marines, leaving Fulgencio Batista in power since then as the last of the communist resistance laid down their arms in October, 1962. The mastermind of the revolution, Fidel Castro, is a wanted man in both Cuba and the United States and is suspected to be currently assisting rebels in Race held Latin America.
Mexico was nearly conquered by The Race after the entry country fell in late October of 1944 following the Mexican military's defeat in Tehuantepec, the remnants of the Mexican military going on to form the Free Mexican Army serving with honor on warfronts in Texas, southern California, and Central America. After the Peace of Santo Domingo, Mexico was freed from Race control but had to be rebuilt from the ground up with the Mexican government in exile not returning from Juneau until 1951 when the damage done to Mexico City was fixed. As of 1963, Mexico is still recovering from the war with several cities that were sites of fierce fighting have still not been completely rebuilt.
The Central American nations of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama actually took less damage than most other nations on Earth as what defenses could be raised by both local forces and what expeditionary forces America could spare were primarily set aside for the defenses of capital cities and the valuable Panama canal (captured by The Race in late January, 1945 after The Race committed to a two pronged assault on what was left of Central America after the Conquest Fleet made another landing in Bahia Solano, Colombia). While Central America spent the rest of the war under Race occupation, their independence was returned when hostilities ended. Currently the entirety of Central America is in the US' pocket, kept in line with promises of funding and reduced trade barriers.
Colombia and Venezuela are still recovering from the war despite never being completely occupied as the Race only took to occupying their coastlines, leaving the jungles deeper in the two countries untouched due to being deemed impractical to conquer, with Venezuela being used as a springboard for the invasion of the European colonies in the Guianas. Ecuador, due to it's small size, was completely conquered sans the Galapagos Islands by the end of March, 1945 and was used as a staging ground for the invasion of northern Peru. Like a majority of other countries in the Americas, the independence off all three nations was restored following the Peace of Santo Domingo. As of 1963 Colombia is considered a rising military power in South America while Venezuela and Ecuador are largely in between the American and Brazilian spheres of influence.
Brazil is considered a rising power despite the damage sustained during the Invasion. Being cut off entirely from the coast during the middle half of the Invasion, what remained of the Brazilian government and military were forced to continue the fight however they could deep in the Amazon with a temporary capital set up in Manaus. After the war, Brazil was one of the major receivers of American aid and was able to recover from the damage by 1960.
The Republic of Chile in Exile is considered to be among the "losers" of the Race Invasion. Organized resistance against The Race collapsed after the fall of Santiago with the government in exile forming in Hanga Roa on Easter Island. While unable to regain their country at the Peace of Santo Domingo, Chile in Exile has been a main supplier of weapons towards resistance cells in the Tosev Administration Zone # 15 which is know among Earth natives as Race La Plata.
The United Kingdom of Great Britain was lucky to keep as much of it's Empire as it did though now that luck is starting to fade. While a fair numbers of their holdings remain loyal, most of what remains of the Empire is already on it's way out the door. The Kingdoms of Egypt and Iraq-Palestine are set to be fully independent by next year though under continued British influence and a large troop presence to deter the Race stationed across their respective borders. With the massive wave of rebellion sweeping across Race territory on Earth, the two Kingdoms have been funding groups in northern Africa and Arabia ranging from Egyptian nationalists, pro-Hashemites, and various smaller Islamic groups in both regions.
Much like in France's colonial holdings, overseas British territories primarily in the Caribbean, Guyana, Malta, and Malaya have seen increase in immigration from both European colonists and natives emigrating from their now Race conquered homelands. With the massive loss in power after both the Second World War and the Race Invasion, Britain has largely gravitated closer to the Unites States much like Canada has though remains a leading member in the Alliance of European States and a permanent member of the United Nations' Security Council.
The French Fourth Republic, founded after the Free French government returned to their homeland in 1946, is struggling to maintain what's left of the larger portions of their colonial empire in Algeria, Tunisia, Lebanon, and Syria. The current colonial wars have been going on for the past four years now and everyday support for the wars and for President Charles de Gaulle continues to decrease across Metropolitan France. While the French government is perhaps willing to let Syria go anyways with the rebellion there growing out of control, de Gaulle is staunch in his commitment to keep what remains of Algeria.
In an slightly unrelated note France is one of three countries in the world to allow women to serve in the military, which stems primarily from women serving as part of the French resistance against both Nazi Germany and The Race. France is also a leading member in the Alliance of European States alongside the United Kingdom and a permanent member of the United Nations' Security Council.
The German Republic is coming down from Nazism at the cost of now being a somewhat restrictive parliamentary republic where the military have a rather large say in matters. Now lead by an aging Wilhelm Leuschner after the death of his predecessor in 1957, modern Germany is very anti-Nazi due to the successfully instilled belief that the Nazis nearly brought Germany to ruin with their insane strategies in the beginning of the Race Invasion and the revelation of massive death camps across the Reich and her conquered territories. Today Germany is currently undergoing their own sort of counterculture due to the government's restrictiveness and growing discontent of the draft system.
Feeling abandoned by the former Allied Nations, Germany reunited with fellow former Axis members Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary to form the Budapest Pact, a move which has seen both Poland and Czechoslovakia move closer to the AES.
The Kingdom of the Netherlands finally left the Dutch East Indies in 1955, which went on to form the Republic of Indonesia although still holding onto the loyal Dutch New Guinea has sparked issues between the two nations.
Portugal and Spain still remain under their respective Estado Novo and Francoist systems though are both committed to holding onto their remaining colonies in Africa. Spanish Morocco, Cabo Verde, Bioko, and Sao Tome & Principe have received a lot of emigration from primarily European colonists from Africa escaping their Race conquered homelands and increased militarization on account of their membership in the AES.
The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the People's Socialist Republic of Albania remain tentative allies of the USSR. While the three communist nations differ in socialist ideology, their position being surrounded by anti-communist nations in the Balkans forces them to keep an arms length relationship with the Soviets for the sake of protection.
The Italian backed Kingdom of Slovenia is the last refuge of the Karadordevic dynasty after the fall of the rest of Yugoslavia to communism. Dependent on Italy for support, the nation is not recognized by Yugoslavia as it claims the country as it's rightful territory.
The Third Polish Republic is scarred after being under the boot of the Nazis, the atrocities committed during their rule has made the Polish government both rather militaristic and anti-German, to the point where they refuse to have any diplomatic relations with Germany or any member of the Budapest Pact.
While repeatedly denied by Polish government officials, the German and Soviet governments have slung repeated accusation of a secret Polish organization established to assassinate individuals suspected of various crimes in Poland during both the Second World War and the Race's occupation of the country. No proof has currently surfaced supporting such claims however.
Due to their assistance in liberating Poland from Nazi rule and saving thousands from extermination, Poland maintains very friendly relations with the Race to the point where the country is the only non major power to have the Lizards maintain diplomatic connections with.
The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics has only been under the leadership of General Secretary Georgy Zhukov for only four months following a nearly successful coup lead by the head of the NKVD Lavrenty Beria which resulted in the death of previous General Secretary Vyacheslav Molotov, who in turn took control after Stalin's death by a stroke in 1949. In the aftermath of the failed coup the NKVD was dissolved, its members purged, and the Red Army officially rules the world's largest communist nation. Since the change of leadership Zhukov has chosen a path of peace with the United States and the AES in favor of presenting a unified front against the Race on Earth. While the ideologies of capitalism and communism are no longer considered mortal enemies, they are still certainly rivals even in the midst of a standoff with the extraterrestrials.
Natalism is the word of the day within the USSR. With many sons and daughters lost during both the Great Patriotic War and the Race Invasion, the government has declared it the patriotic duty of Soviet citizens to procreate often and raise large families in the name of supporting the state with their being rather large governmental benefits for doing so.
The Soviet military is also among the absolute largest in the world, tied for second place with India and second only to the Americans. Within the USSR five years of service is mandatory for all citizens above 18. The Soviet Union is also one of three nations in the world to allow women to serve in combat roles.
Alongside the United States, Brazil, and India the Soviet Union is also a key supporter of various anti-Race resistance groups primarily in Mongolia, China, and eastern Africa. Current classified documents would reveal the secret of Soviet special forces being deployed to train communist rebels and even occasionally fight alongside them against Race colonial forces.
Much like Slovenia in Europe, the Kingdom of Egypt and the Kingdom of Iraq-Palestine are the only remaining possessions of the Muhammad Ali dynasty and the House of Hashem respectively. Both of them being former British territories, London is keeping to their end of the bargain of giving them independence in exchange for permanent basing rights. Both countries have been rather key stop points for arms to end up in the hands of various groups in Race occupied Arabia and northern Africa. It is also certainly a coincidence that a lot of these guns also end up in the hands of rebels in French colonies.
The Federation of India exists as the Hindus and the Muslims have more animosity for The Race moreso than for each other. The British holding onto Ceylon and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands does annoy the current leadership, it pales in comparison to the French enclaves and Portuguese Goa. Negotiations with France are going nowhere but Portugal has agreed to transfer control of the city in exchange for an undisclosed sum of money. The Federation is also among the biggest suppliers of resistance cells in Tibet and Burma in addition to supporting some rebels in the Arabian peninsula.
Much like Chile, the Republic of China can be considered one of the war's "losers" as the Kuomintang lost their hold on the mainland following the Battle of Peking, where the KMT fought alongside the Chinese Communist Party and the Kwantung Army. Following their loss in Peking, KMT forces still under the command of Chiang Kai-shek fell back to Hainan, eventually gaining control of Formosa (which underwent a uprising during the Race's front in China) as well. The ROC in exile, still under Kai-shek's rule, is heavily backed by the United States for the nations serves as a vital point for Americana, British, and Chinese firearms to reach rebels in southern China and Indochina.
The British colonies of Ceylon and the Malayan Union (made from the British holdings of Malaya, North Borneo, Sarawak, and Singapore) have been granted significant autonomy by London though after some years of low level resistance on Borneo, both territories will get the opportunity to vote on their future whether it be continued autonomous rule by Britain or independence.
The Race invasion sidelined The Philippines' independence until July 4, 1947. The country currently enjoys strong ties with the United States complete with permanent basing rights.
The Dominion of Australia has emerged from the war scarred, having lost thousands of men fighting the Japanese and then The Race in addition to loss of the entire western half of the country. Australia has become heavily militarized with mandatory conscription still ongoing with men and women required to serve for five years upon turning 18. The government is also currently in talks with the Netherlands and Portugal over purchasing Dutch New Guinea and Portuguese Timor respectively.
Administering their empire on Earth from the city of Bamako (formerly the capital of the French Sudan), The Empire of the Race are facing massive insurgencies across Africa, South America, Arabia, and China all funded by the various Human powers. To their credit, the Race are seeing success in Africa with dismantling the racism prevalent during European rule as native Africans are beginning to ascend to positions of local power (a fact that only serves to incite the resistance down in former South Africa).
However it's almost one step forward, one step back as Race colonial authorities have repeatedly denied any religious pilgrimage to the Islamic Holy Cities resulting in the still free countries of Egypt, Iraq-Palestine, Turkey, Persia, and Afghanistan to finance any rebels groups in Arabia no matter how repugnant they might be. Resistance is also furthered by Viceroy Atvar beginning the policy of tax all Human citizens who practice "Tosevite Superstition".
The arrival of the Colonization Fleet from home last year has increased efforts to begin the settlement of preferred territories on Earth. So far only Race West Africa is open for settlement though Atvar hopes to have their holdings in northern and east-central Africa ready for settlement by 1966.
Do not be fooled by the presence of a United Nations for hostilities still linger from the Second World War. Most of Western Europe and the USSR hates Germany, Poland hates both Germany and the Soviets, some militarists in the Japanese Empire want to go for round two with the Americans, Pakistan constantly threatens to break off from the Indian Federation, and the current Indonesian government frequently harassing Europe for their colonial holdings in the region.
A united front is portrayed for the sake of The Race not getting ideas on starting Round 2, but many suspect that even the threat of the Lizards will not keep tensions cool for much longer.

With it's current capital in Denver Colorado due to the destruction of Washington DC during the Invasion, the United States of America is the world's foremost military superpower outranking the USSR, the French Fourth Republic, and Germany. The states that became battlegrounds during The Race invasion have largely recovered from the damage (at least the major cities and industrial centers) resulting in the United States' current economic boom. However things for the US is not all well. For beginners the cities of Washington D.C, Springfield, Tampa, Cleveland, and Reno will not be inhabitable until the turn of the century due to the Race's Explosive Metal Bombs dropped on those cities while Albuquerque, Tuscon, and San Antonio were among the cities destroyed by American nuclear weapons, which were used as traps on the invading Conquest Fleet due to the lack of Human delivery systems during the Invasion. Protest against the "Jim Crow" laws are arising across the southern United States demanding an end to racial discrimination though a vast majority of the south refuses to do away with the laws both due to generations of preexisting bigotry and cases of Blacks serving on the Race's side during the occupation of the south. While the US military has been desegregated since August of 1945 (though not made official until 1950), the issue of countrywide desegregation will prove to be a hurdle for both President Ted Kennedy and American Civil Rights activists.
While not invaded by The Race the island nations of Cuba, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic are solid American allies in the region along with receiving an increasing amount of foreign aid as a "thank you" for the three countries sending troops to fight the Race in Central America alongside American, Free Mexican, and Central American forces at America's "request". Cuban, Haitian, and Dominican forces were mostly famous for their service in the defense of Managua and the Panama Canal. Cuba had been a source of unrest since the Communist Revolution of 1959 which failed thanks to the combined efforts of local Cuban forces and US Marines, leaving Fulgencio Batista in power since then as the last of the communist resistance laid down their arms in October, 1962. The mastermind of the revolution, Fidel Castro, is a wanted man in both Cuba and the United States and is suspected to be currently assisting rebels in Race held Latin America.
Mexico was nearly conquered by The Race after the entry country fell in late October of 1944 following the Mexican military's defeat in Tehuantepec, the remnants of the Mexican military going on to form the Free Mexican Army serving with honor on warfronts in Texas, southern California, and Central America. After the Peace of Santo Domingo, Mexico was freed from Race control but had to be rebuilt from the ground up with the Mexican government in exile not returning from Juneau until 1951 when the damage done to Mexico City was fixed. As of 1963, Mexico is still recovering from the war with several cities that were sites of fierce fighting have still not been completely rebuilt.
The Central American nations of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama actually took less damage than most other nations on Earth as what defenses could be raised by both local forces and what expeditionary forces America could spare were primarily set aside for the defenses of capital cities and the valuable Panama canal (captured by The Race in late January, 1945 after The Race committed to a two pronged assault on what was left of Central America after the Conquest Fleet made another landing in Bahia Solano, Colombia). While Central America spent the rest of the war under Race occupation, their independence was returned when hostilities ended. Currently the entirety of Central America is in the US' pocket, kept in line with promises of funding and reduced trade barriers.
Colombia and Venezuela are still recovering from the war despite never being completely occupied as the Race only took to occupying their coastlines, leaving the jungles deeper in the two countries untouched due to being deemed impractical to conquer, with Venezuela being used as a springboard for the invasion of the European colonies in the Guianas. Ecuador, due to it's small size, was completely conquered sans the Galapagos Islands by the end of March, 1945 and was used as a staging ground for the invasion of northern Peru. Like a majority of other countries in the Americas, the independence off all three nations was restored following the Peace of Santo Domingo. As of 1963 Colombia is considered a rising military power in South America while Venezuela and Ecuador are largely in between the American and Brazilian spheres of influence.
Brazil is considered a rising power despite the damage sustained during the Invasion. Being cut off entirely from the coast during the middle half of the Invasion, what remained of the Brazilian government and military were forced to continue the fight however they could deep in the Amazon with a temporary capital set up in Manaus. After the war, Brazil was one of the major receivers of American aid and was able to recover from the damage by 1960.
The Republic of Chile in Exile is considered to be among the "losers" of the Race Invasion. Organized resistance against The Race collapsed after the fall of Santiago with the government in exile forming in Hanga Roa on Easter Island. While unable to regain their country at the Peace of Santo Domingo, Chile in Exile has been a main supplier of weapons towards resistance cells in the Tosev Administration Zone # 15 which is know among Earth natives as Race La Plata.
The United Kingdom of Great Britain was lucky to keep as much of it's Empire as it did though now that luck is starting to fade. While a fair numbers of their holdings remain loyal, most of what remains of the Empire is already on it's way out the door. The Kingdoms of Egypt and Iraq-Palestine are set to be fully independent by next year though under continued British influence and a large troop presence to deter the Race stationed across their respective borders. With the massive wave of rebellion sweeping across Race territory on Earth, the two Kingdoms have been funding groups in northern Africa and Arabia ranging from Egyptian nationalists, pro-Hashemites, and various smaller Islamic groups in both regions.
Much like in France's colonial holdings, overseas British territories primarily in the Caribbean, Guyana, Malta, and Malaya have seen increase in immigration from both European colonists and natives emigrating from their now Race conquered homelands. With the massive loss in power after both the Second World War and the Race Invasion, Britain has largely gravitated closer to the Unites States much like Canada has though remains a leading member in the Alliance of European States and a permanent member of the United Nations' Security Council.
The French Fourth Republic, founded after the Free French government returned to their homeland in 1946, is struggling to maintain what's left of the larger portions of their colonial empire in Algeria, Tunisia, Lebanon, and Syria. The current colonial wars have been going on for the past four years now and everyday support for the wars and for President Charles de Gaulle continues to decrease across Metropolitan France. While the French government is perhaps willing to let Syria go anyways with the rebellion there growing out of control, de Gaulle is staunch in his commitment to keep what remains of Algeria.
In an slightly unrelated note France is one of three countries in the world to allow women to serve in the military, which stems primarily from women serving as part of the French resistance against both Nazi Germany and The Race. France is also a leading member in the Alliance of European States alongside the United Kingdom and a permanent member of the United Nations' Security Council.
The German Republic is coming down from Nazism at the cost of now being a somewhat restrictive parliamentary republic where the military have a rather large say in matters. Now lead by an aging Wilhelm Leuschner after the death of his predecessor in 1957, modern Germany is very anti-Nazi due to the successfully instilled belief that the Nazis nearly brought Germany to ruin with their insane strategies in the beginning of the Race Invasion and the revelation of massive death camps across the Reich and her conquered territories. Today Germany is currently undergoing their own sort of counterculture due to the government's restrictiveness and growing discontent of the draft system.
Feeling abandoned by the former Allied Nations, Germany reunited with fellow former Axis members Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary to form the Budapest Pact, a move which has seen both Poland and Czechoslovakia move closer to the AES.
The Kingdom of the Netherlands finally left the Dutch East Indies in 1955, which went on to form the Republic of Indonesia although still holding onto the loyal Dutch New Guinea has sparked issues between the two nations.
Portugal and Spain still remain under their respective Estado Novo and Francoist systems though are both committed to holding onto their remaining colonies in Africa. Spanish Morocco, Cabo Verde, Bioko, and Sao Tome & Principe have received a lot of emigration from primarily European colonists from Africa escaping their Race conquered homelands and increased militarization on account of their membership in the AES.
The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the People's Socialist Republic of Albania remain tentative allies of the USSR. While the three communist nations differ in socialist ideology, their position being surrounded by anti-communist nations in the Balkans forces them to keep an arms length relationship with the Soviets for the sake of protection.
The Italian backed Kingdom of Slovenia is the last refuge of the Karadordevic dynasty after the fall of the rest of Yugoslavia to communism. Dependent on Italy for support, the nation is not recognized by Yugoslavia as it claims the country as it's rightful territory.
The Third Polish Republic is scarred after being under the boot of the Nazis, the atrocities committed during their rule has made the Polish government both rather militaristic and anti-German, to the point where they refuse to have any diplomatic relations with Germany or any member of the Budapest Pact.
While repeatedly denied by Polish government officials, the German and Soviet governments have slung repeated accusation of a secret Polish organization established to assassinate individuals suspected of various crimes in Poland during both the Second World War and the Race's occupation of the country. No proof has currently surfaced supporting such claims however.
Due to their assistance in liberating Poland from Nazi rule and saving thousands from extermination, Poland maintains very friendly relations with the Race to the point where the country is the only non major power to have the Lizards maintain diplomatic connections with.
The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics has only been under the leadership of General Secretary Georgy Zhukov for only four months following a nearly successful coup lead by the head of the NKVD Lavrenty Beria which resulted in the death of previous General Secretary Vyacheslav Molotov, who in turn took control after Stalin's death by a stroke in 1949. In the aftermath of the failed coup the NKVD was dissolved, its members purged, and the Red Army officially rules the world's largest communist nation. Since the change of leadership Zhukov has chosen a path of peace with the United States and the AES in favor of presenting a unified front against the Race on Earth. While the ideologies of capitalism and communism are no longer considered mortal enemies, they are still certainly rivals even in the midst of a standoff with the extraterrestrials.
Natalism is the word of the day within the USSR. With many sons and daughters lost during both the Great Patriotic War and the Race Invasion, the government has declared it the patriotic duty of Soviet citizens to procreate often and raise large families in the name of supporting the state with their being rather large governmental benefits for doing so.
The Soviet military is also among the absolute largest in the world, tied for second place with India and second only to the Americans. Within the USSR five years of service is mandatory for all citizens above 18. The Soviet Union is also one of three nations in the world to allow women to serve in combat roles.
Alongside the United States, Brazil, and India the Soviet Union is also a key supporter of various anti-Race resistance groups primarily in Mongolia, China, and eastern Africa. Current classified documents would reveal the secret of Soviet special forces being deployed to train communist rebels and even occasionally fight alongside them against Race colonial forces.
Much like Slovenia in Europe, the Kingdom of Egypt and the Kingdom of Iraq-Palestine are the only remaining possessions of the Muhammad Ali dynasty and the House of Hashem respectively. Both of them being former British territories, London is keeping to their end of the bargain of giving them independence in exchange for permanent basing rights. Both countries have been rather key stop points for arms to end up in the hands of various groups in Race occupied Arabia and northern Africa. It is also certainly a coincidence that a lot of these guns also end up in the hands of rebels in French colonies.
The Federation of India exists as the Hindus and the Muslims have more animosity for The Race moreso than for each other. The British holding onto Ceylon and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands does annoy the current leadership, it pales in comparison to the French enclaves and Portuguese Goa. Negotiations with France are going nowhere but Portugal has agreed to transfer control of the city in exchange for an undisclosed sum of money. The Federation is also among the biggest suppliers of resistance cells in Tibet and Burma in addition to supporting some rebels in the Arabian peninsula.
Much like Chile, the Republic of China can be considered one of the war's "losers" as the Kuomintang lost their hold on the mainland following the Battle of Peking, where the KMT fought alongside the Chinese Communist Party and the Kwantung Army. Following their loss in Peking, KMT forces still under the command of Chiang Kai-shek fell back to Hainan, eventually gaining control of Formosa (which underwent a uprising during the Race's front in China) as well. The ROC in exile, still under Kai-shek's rule, is heavily backed by the United States for the nations serves as a vital point for Americana, British, and Chinese firearms to reach rebels in southern China and Indochina.
The British colonies of Ceylon and the Malayan Union (made from the British holdings of Malaya, North Borneo, Sarawak, and Singapore) have been granted significant autonomy by London though after some years of low level resistance on Borneo, both territories will get the opportunity to vote on their future whether it be continued autonomous rule by Britain or independence.
The Race invasion sidelined The Philippines' independence until July 4, 1947. The country currently enjoys strong ties with the United States complete with permanent basing rights.
The Dominion of Australia has emerged from the war scarred, having lost thousands of men fighting the Japanese and then The Race in addition to loss of the entire western half of the country. Australia has become heavily militarized with mandatory conscription still ongoing with men and women required to serve for five years upon turning 18. The government is also currently in talks with the Netherlands and Portugal over purchasing Dutch New Guinea and Portuguese Timor respectively.
Administering their empire on Earth from the city of Bamako (formerly the capital of the French Sudan), The Empire of the Race are facing massive insurgencies across Africa, South America, Arabia, and China all funded by the various Human powers. To their credit, the Race are seeing success in Africa with dismantling the racism prevalent during European rule as native Africans are beginning to ascend to positions of local power (a fact that only serves to incite the resistance down in former South Africa).
However it's almost one step forward, one step back as Race colonial authorities have repeatedly denied any religious pilgrimage to the Islamic Holy Cities resulting in the still free countries of Egypt, Iraq-Palestine, Turkey, Persia, and Afghanistan to finance any rebels groups in Arabia no matter how repugnant they might be. Resistance is also furthered by Viceroy Atvar beginning the policy of tax all Human citizens who practice "Tosevite Superstition".
The arrival of the Colonization Fleet from home last year has increased efforts to begin the settlement of preferred territories on Earth. So far only Race West Africa is open for settlement though Atvar hopes to have their holdings in northern and east-central Africa ready for settlement by 1966.
Do not be fooled by the presence of a United Nations for hostilities still linger from the Second World War. Most of Western Europe and the USSR hates Germany, Poland hates both Germany and the Soviets, some militarists in the Japanese Empire want to go for round two with the Americans, Pakistan constantly threatens to break off from the Indian Federation, and the current Indonesian government frequently harassing Europe for their colonial holdings in the region.
A united front is portrayed for the sake of The Race not getting ideas on starting Round 2, but many suspect that even the threat of the Lizards will not keep tensions cool for much longer.

I know you said it wasn't meant to be realistic, but it's my pet peeve: Why did wad erupt over the Ausgleich? The Ausgleich renegociations involved adjusting the Common budget and manpower allotment for the army. Absolutely no reason for a war to happen then.
Well, based on my limited knowledge, I imagine the Magyars attempted to repeat a negotiation of 1867 to resist Franz Ferdinand's further federalizing efforts. It ultimately failed as the Hungarian delegate withdrew from the discussion and the emperor ordered the suppression of Budapest almost immediately after that.
Well, I don't want to clog the Map Thread with boring details on the intricacies of Austro-Hungarian politics or my opinions on Franz Ferdinand. To keep it short:
-The Ausgleich renegociations were purely economical. If the Hungarians had issue with their King, they could raise objections at anytime, as the Prime Minister of Hungary was part of the Council of Ministers, the Magyars having significant control over the latter.
-I personally object to the idea that Franz Ferdinand wanted to federalise the Empire from what I read- That idea was more Karl's. FF wanted to centralise and empower the Imperial crown, and the Magyars stood in his way.
-This is mostly an actual question rather than my nitpicking: Why didn't the other minorities, especially the Czechs, object to FF's warmongering towards the Hungarians? They stand to lose as well if FF has his way (though not as much as the Hungarians).
Anyways, don't let my obsession with Austria-Hungary get in the way of fun alternate history, haha

For your last question, I assume that the foundation for reform was already laid out thanks to Ferdinand Maximilian carrying out some progressive policies so other minorities didn't feel as upset as in OTL.
The Kingdom of Florida declared independence on May 1st 1943 after the loss of the Imperialist Compact, of which Spain was a member, in the Eurasian War. While Florida and Puerto Rico, the two overseas possesions of Spain in the Americas, barely saw any fighting, both colonies reacted differently to the war. Anti-war sentiment dominated Puerto Rico, while Florida was filled with patriotic fervor. When Madrid fell to Anglo-French forces and both Danubia and Russia were exhausted from seven years of warfare, the Peace of Geneva was signed in 1943. Spain lost their few remaining colonies in Asia and Africa to the victorious Alliance of Nations and the fate of both Puerto Rico and Florida was up in the air. The island of Puerto Rico, supported by strong republican nations like Mexico, Cuba, and Venezuela, chose independence from Spain and a constitution modelled after the Cuban one. Florida initially wanted to remain with Spain, but the suprise vote in the Spanish parliament which led to the abolishing of the monarchy changed that. Floridian monarchists declared independence from Spain and invited the deposed royal family to come to North America. Infante Jamie Alfonso and his young wife, the Habsburg princess Luisa Sofía, came to San Agustin to become King and Queen of Florida.
Florida is the only monarchy of North America not ruled by the British monarch, and since the 1992 Constitutional Referendum in Brazil the only monarchy in Latin America. Florida has three neighbors, the Republic of Georgia (the southernmost nation which replaced the Thirteen Colonies), the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the Republic of Cuba. Relations with Cuba, while initially frosty, have thawed in the last thirty years. Georgia, which for the longest time had negative relations with the Spanish Empire due to Spanish support for the Seminole, have been cordial since Florida's declaration of independence.

First of all, I love this. Second, you did a great job with the Spanish. My own Spanish isn't amazing but the only error I see is the two Ls in humiliation. Other than that it looks good. Nice work!
