  1. WI: A World War II and a Third Reich WITHOUT the Holocaust.

I don't think that the holocaust actually drained a lot of resources. The manpower used to man the camps was quite low, often it was 'outsourced' to the various nationalities of the Nazi 'Empire'. Also several camps doubled up as industrial centres using slave labour. I would hazard a guess that...
  2. Indian Countries Colonise Europe

    Cornish pasties.
  3. "Cursus Honorum" in American government

No... a term as an actual commissioned officer! That's if we want this Roman style militarist American state!
  4. Stomach Pains (CP Victory TL)

Now, should I try to provide details for the War, or simply summarise and jump ahead?
  5. "Cursus Honorum" in American government

I think the first step should be to serve a term as a military officer.
  6. Charles Dickens, MP.

You could have him stand almost any year in say a by election. That gives you more flexibility. Maybe have him elected in 1847 as Parliaments only chartist MP. I don't know if he would be a chartist, but he would certainly be inclined towards something 'radical'.
  7. Challenge: The US navy a joke

By 1900 America is the leading industrial power with oversea's commitments, by 1906 or so it is chucking out Dreadnoughts. I can't really see how this can be easily achieved.

Amendment to Part: 1 In 1909 the Liberal Government attempts to pass what becomes known as ‘the peoples budget’, a progressive piece of legislation it incurs the ire of the conservatives by the creation of a land tax. The budget is vetoed by the house of Lords, however this is the first time...
  9. What if military defied Bush orders to invade Iraq?

I was expecting there to be more blood and screaming, but it is still an emotional moment.
  10. What if military defied Bush orders to invade Iraq?

This as close you can get to ASB without invoking time travelling wizards and morris dancing klingons. It is possible in that the joint chiefs of staff or whatever have free will, it is not likely though that high ranking military men would go against their instincts for loyalty to destroy...
  11. League of Nations analog in CP Victory?

The League of Nations was very much based on moral propaganda and the conceit that the liberal democracies had faced off against the evils of militarism for the benefit of the world. I don't think the Central Powers would have been able to create such credible propaganda, and in any case a...
  12. Stomach Pains (CP Victory TL)

PS: I have just realised that I need to work out the repercussions of the 1909/1910 constitutional crisis and events in Ireland. Not having the disruption of King Edward VII's death in 1910 does have consequences that may actually be quite useful for me!
  13. Stomach Pains (CP Victory TL)

I think by that stage the entente will have evaporated.
  14. Stomach Pains (CP Victory TL)

Thanks, I am trying to balance mine, and the contempary desire for peace between the two countries with political realism and the Kaiser's incompetent diplomacy.
  15. Stomach Pains (CP Victory TL)

This is my first attempt at a timeline, so please feel free to flame my n00b ass, for those who may not be interested this is a timeline where British involvement in the Great war is limited, negligible or non-existent (depends on what I feel after I get feedback), which in turn delays or...
