MotF 262: Making the Best of It

Backstory is that Germany opts for more of a "Mediterranean Strategy" in WWII, coercing Spain into joining the war on the side of the Axis, which in turn ensnares Portugal on the side of the Allies - but the war still ends in a decisive Axis defeat. Portugal is devastated by the war, though...

    Return of Horrible Educational Maps

I guess Torch just went straight for Tunisia? Also, Army Group North's push to Leningrad seems to have completely failed at the border and Sevastopol is still holding out. No idea what is going on in the Baltics. Slovakia seemingly doesn't exist, or is a lot smaller, and Turkey seems to have...

For MotF 261, are rump states acceptable, or does it need to have most of the OTL territory

Another option worth considering is the proposed 1866 annexation treaty route, which incorporated PEI into Nova Scotia, but stipulated that PEI would always get at least one U.S. house member.

My understanding is that it has always been allowed to cross-post maps in the map thread. I think I've done that for every entry I've submitted for the MOTF.

Go ahead and post the thread whenever you are ready, I don't think I will finish on time. My map displaying the secularization of an independent Valais will have to wait until another day to be posted.

Iceland and the Faroes are independent but host a British military presence. In this universe, Hitler initially planned on keeping Denmark whole, but when they rejected overtures to align with Germany in the post-Dunkirk order, Hitler decided to take North Schleswig (though Denmark still remains...

MotF 253: Tail Wagging the Dog II

The Arctic Belongs to Norway! (or Quisling “succeeds”) ----- 7 June 1941: Attack or be attacked. On some level, Stalin knew he would have to make this decision since the United Kingdom and Nazi Germany signed an Armistice last July. Despite German insistence that troop deployments in Poland...

Regarding the Caprivi strip, I assumed that it wouldn't exist because the OTL strip wouldn't be contiguous with a Southwest Africa that had a northern border at Cape Fria (as to who it goes to, I imagine the British would probably get it, though Portugal is possible). Granted, I suppose an...

Walvis Bay was administratively part of Southwest Africa from 1922 to 1977, so it was included in OTL census totals for 1960. The total permanent population of this state would be around 219,873 in 1960. Though given OTL population growth that figure would be around 800,000 at the present.
