What I liked most about this book was not only its realism in the sense of how the "zombie virus" came about (African Rabies) but in the fact that it wasn't entirely an apocalyptic book. Eventually, humanity prevailed over a population of diseased human beings, not supernatural minions of Satan.

Interesting. I like the idea of Gondor stretching around the northern Mediterranean more, though. Gives it more of a Romanesque feel. I used a little book that has some stuff that Tolkien said about where Middle-Earth is on the map.
