I always wondered why Prussia didn't just force the French to keep their troops out of A-L permanently and let the Germans station forces in A=L without annexing it.
I think the Founding Fathers of Canada considered naming the country the Kingdom of Canada but thought that the US would not like that so they chose Dominion of Canada.
Would there have been any support for a constitutional monarchy under Alexis / Regent or Michael? Model after the UK? Nicholas and Alexandra could then live out their lives in one of the royal residences outside of the capital or even go abroad.

I am curious about government buildings. I've never been to Frankfurt, but it was badly damaged in the war, correct? I know they were building a parliament building that ended up as a radio building but what about a presidential residence? A chancellor's office? Any buildings in Frankfurt suitable?
I've never heard that the flag had any role in this question? Surely there never was any talk of returning to the white/red/black or adopting the Bavarian flag for the whole of Germany?
Actually in the alternate ending didn't the Queen remain behind but her children went to Canada, Australia, New Zealand to assume the position of heads of state in those countries if necessary?
