  1. Extremely competent and lucky Hungary during WW2

A possible chance for a 'greater' Hungary...... Have them pretty much do all of the above but when the tides have turned on the Eastern Front............communist revolution in Hungary. They need to go full on pro-soviet and help speed the path of the Red Army into Germany. Despite being...
  2. Extremely competent and lucky Hungary during WW2

The problem with the OP is that Hungary invading/occupying other countries at the same exact moment as Nazi Germany can't be washed away with claims of non-cooperation, protecting inhabitants rights and not at all being the Jackal of the Balkans. The Soviets could get away with this in Poland...
  3. Would the atomic bomb be a magic bullet against Germany if they defeated the USSR?

Question is - Once the allies have nuked Berlin, Essen, etc... are they ready to reign nuclear fire on Amsterdam, Paris, Rome and any other occupied and culturally signifigant city that the Reich has use of?
  4. Make England A Powerhouse In Football Post-1974

Well from 1974 up to Heysel we had a team in the Champions Cup Final 10 of 12 times with 7 victories. Without complete fact checking I think most of those teams were basically devoid of non-UK players so the not so simple solution would be having a UK team rather then just England.
  5. Grading Hitler's Military Command Competence

'A' If the goal of military command is to effect control and direction over the armed forces of your nation then Adolf certainly attained that. He did so early and remained at the top of the military command structure till near the very end. Churchill never really had that as he was following...
  6. Seattle runs the ball and fails

Pete Carrols (then) logic of Pass, Run, Run was the correct solution. The real fault lies with Russel Wilson. When Browner jammed Kearse at the line the play became 50/50 and he should of chucked it out the back of the endzone or improvised (Lynch was actually getting open on the other side)...
  7. U.S. declares war on Japan would britian honor their alliance

A lot depends on who the other power is?
  8. The death of America's Team

The Cowboys get what is essentially an expansion draft to re-stock their roster and maybe the 1st pick the following year.
  9. Electoral College compromise: Every state splits its electoral votes

The historical data is all we have to go on and whilst campaigns would change and candidates and their positions.......Democrats will vote Democrat and Republicans will vote Republican! Assuming a minimum of 5% of popular vote needed in a state to qualify for an elector vote, elections...
  10. Electoral College compromise: Every state splits its electoral votes

Your current system has the effect that 5% of your voting population (states above 60-40) may as well not bother taking part. The only way it could be much worse is if voting was mandatory in states like California and you happened to be a republican.
  11. Electoral College compromise: Every state splits its electoral votes

Could you not opt for some kind of proportional representation per state? i.e 2012 Michigan (10 electoral college votes) Democrat - 52.83% (5 votes towards victory) Republican - 45.89% (4 votes towards victory) Work out how to split the final vote - Not used, rounded etc... Instead of...
  12. What if the British monarch just straight-up refuses to appoint the Prime Minister?

Would of been previously impossible in the 2 (1/2) party system but...... 2015 Election sees the Conservatives as the largest party but some 15 seats short of majority. With Lib Dems infighting due to a poor performance and not partial to a repeat of the last term, The Tories are unable to make...
  13. AHC - Cornish Independence

Given the likely targets will be; Falmouth Docks ~ Large natural harbour and denies the RN a location to fallback on as more established yards are destroyed. Plymouth Docks ~ One of those more established yards and sits right on the 'border' RAF St.Mawgan ~ Houses ASW assets and its length...
  14. Plausibility check: All or most Jews sent to Madagascar?

Is it possible/plausible for Germany to ship the Jews out in actual Vichy ships? Defray the cost against the occupation costs and even if the RN inspect these neutral ships then what can they do other then let them on their way between vichy ports or take the refugees off and land them...
  15. Coup in Britain '68

If pushed I'd go for the Curragh Incident as the last possible point of departure. Up to this point the UK has no large body of killers on hand via conscription and the means to force a capitulation of a sitting government (stores of arms) can only be found in home based, regular army units...
