I'm gonna read it too. I'm particularly interested in when the Underworld/Pellucidar got introduced into the setting; I never intended for that map to be a base map for others or a canonical portrayal of Edgar Rice Burroughs' Pellucidar, it was mostly just a proof of concept for how underground...

I wish I had an answer for you, but I don't. This map is gorgeous and I'd love to know its source. It's cute seeing my Vulcan, Underworld (labeled Pellucidar) and a few alt-astronomy moons (Neith and Cadeucus) on here. I really should get to updating some of those things.

Beautiful map, but what's the POD? No Islam?

Nice! I also tried messing around with Craiyon to get some concepts for maps, but I haven't done much with it yet.

I've done an Underworld map in the Worlda format before, wherein "solid rock" is depicted as a single color separate from tunnel, magma flow, and water. The big limitation is that it is hard to communicate when a tunnel crosses under or over another tunnel in a 2D top-down format. Related, I've...

I prefer the simpler answer that the Long States are non-Euclidean.

I used to love those. Don't think I played much, but I loved watching the development of certain games.

I tried to create a basic biome map for the continent, so that area around Norumbega is all wilderness. I think I realized a bit too late that the map's biomes looked a bit too similar to the nation-states. I based Estotiland's position on Ortelius's Typus Orbis Terrarium, but I'll be revisiting...

Thank you! By that same token, your Miskatonic University and 1 Million Years BC projects kept me invested in alternate history for a long time. Toloman is another country Marco Polo associated with Anian beyond the eponymous strait. I just figured it worked as a name for dream!Alaska. Ye-Quor...

Greetings from Abya Yala! Many explorers of the Age of Discovery including Sir Walter Raleigh and Admiral Piri Reis noted peculiarities in the geography of South America during some of the first European expeditions into the green continent's interior. Coupled with rumours of wealthy...

What is the oldest AH book?

Does anyone know what book might be the oldest in the alternate history genre, or at least what is the oldest book to feature alternate history elements? I would suggest maybe Aristopia by Castello Holford is a good contender. It was published in 1895 and was more utopian fiction than alternate...
