Looks interesting, subbed. Also, the DEFCON Level is not universal for all US military units. Was the upgrade for US forces worldwide or only for specific units (e.g. during the missile crisis SAC went to DEFCON 2 but the rest of US forces stayed at 3). Otherwise, great work so far! :)

Another good idea would be to make a timeline in the same format as this, except focusing around the escalation of another Cold War crisis (e.g. Yom Kippur War, Able Archer, Suez, Vietnam...).

Even launching cruise missiles at each others heartland could be very dangerous. Cruise missiles could just as easily contain nuclear warheads as ICBMs.
