  1. Isaac's Empire

We are talking about a world where the people are wearing togas, and you are worrying about football? :D
  2. What would 19th C Russia's wet-dream scenario in the Balkans look like?

Seriously? Again.... SERIOUSLY???? Riiiiiiiiiiiight. Dont force him with a blade, make it so he doesnt have another choice? Besides the fact that REALLY no christian mother wanted her child to be taken to be a muslim fanatic. I dont know what they teach you, but if what you say was true, why...
  3. What would 19th C Russia's wet-dream scenario in the Balkans look like?

Where exactly was that? Or you forget the Janissary tradition? Or the forced conversions in Bulgaria and Bosnia? Of course they preferred to keep them christian, they werent THAT stupid. Had they tried en-masse conversion the Turkish rule wouldnt last a decade, but the fact that in one way or...
  4. What would 19th C Russia's wet-dream scenario in the Balkans look like?

Was it better when there was Turkish control of Constantinople with puppet states or direct annexations all over the Balkans? And million....well, not million, thousands, give you that, of Christians dead?
  5. Isaac's Empire

And thats pretty much the point when you have 10 million Greeks, 7 million Bulgarians and 9 million Serbs looking angrily at you, with blades. You ought to know that it was THE GREEKS and the rest of the SLAVS in the Balkans and Asia Minor that contribued with their style of dress and their...
  6. The Children of Johan in the New Lands, 1344-1973 - a spin off of "Isaac's Empire"

Merci beaucoup. Its only a matter of time until MDtK wakes up and reads his PMs so we can have the next update.... why, cuz i can.
  7. Isaac's Empire

One should argue that, a TL like this, should be containing pictures as well.... and a timeline about the events, plus other stuff. The problem is no one is enough artist to create the needed pictures.
  8. Isaac's Empire

Yeah somehow you gotta keep up with how the world advances.... evolves, whatever. You couldnt have them still in Medieval period for a good 500 years more.... ....well actually you could. But thats another story.
  9. Isaac's Empire

Now where would be the fun in that. Besides, as MDtK and SF have showed in the spinoff thread, the advancements in techology so far are those that happened from 1890 to 1910, maybe until 1920 but thats pushing it. So more or less you can say that by 1800 you will be in 1930-40 somewhere.
  10. Isaac's Empire

No its far earlier than that..... hardly 1900.
  11. The Children of Johan in the New Lands, 1344-1973 - a spin off of "Isaac's Empire"

Does it matter? A Pope is a Pope is a Pope. The Pope still is above all, except the Emperor you might say, but it is a fact that the German Emperor considered himself above the Pope.... which brought him to war and the ultimate destruction of Milan, although it was rebuilt soon enough... but...
  12. The Children of Johan in the New Lands, 1344-1973 - a spin off of "Isaac's Empire"

I said defacto, not dejure. In papers they can say whatever they want, but if you recognize even the existance of the Pope, you are Catholic.
  13. The Children of Johan in the New Lands, 1344-1973 - a spin off of "Isaac's Empire"

Well some big Indian city in the Empire then. Doesnt matter who. Orthodoxy and icon painting isnt romanization. Orthodoxy from Orthodoxy varies, as people who became Orthodox kept their pagan traditions despite their conversion. And as far as the Tsar is concerned, both Bulgarians and Russians...
  14. The Children of Johan in the New Lands, 1344-1973 - a spin off of "Isaac's Empire"

Hmmm, to be frank i have no idea about that. I just dont know how to fit all these people in Thessaloniki, when in OTL it doesnt have as many.... i suppose if Thessaloniki expands towards the west, instead of merging the suburban communities, the metropolitan area would have as many as 2-3...
  15. The Children of Johan in the New Lands, 1344-1973 - a spin off of "Isaac's Empire"

Ooookay, one by one. @MDtK Well you ought to know a bit, after all you are from the same stock. The Cretans for example still keep their vendetta tradition in 2010 when the world has "supposedly" evolved enough to consider life far more important than honor. On the other hand you have people...
