  • Dear Decius00009,

Recently I have discovered what the symbolic national animal of Ireland is. You have the Stag "In Ireland the Stag was one of the most ancient of charges and was regarded as the most handsome. "The Stag represents the very ancestors of the Celtic race". That is sooo cool: Scots Unicorn; Irish Stag; Welsh Dragon-Red; Old-English Dragon-Green; English Lion

  • Dear Decius00009,

I never knew that, though thinking about the scene in "Angela's Ashes" where the Robert Carlisle character is sarcastic about the Republic being called Eire, with words to the effect that his family was living "Error". I was always puzzled by that. It was almost as if he had never heard of "Eire" before. It makes sense now.
