Alternate Party Logos.

This is for alternate political party logos.

The European socialists all seem to have red and white logos, most have squares...

The first challenge I'm setting you, is to create more original logos for all the above.

(In order, its Spanish PSOE, Portuguese PS, French PS, German SPD, Belgian sp.a, British Labour and European PES.)

Here's the logos for the three main parties of Commonwealth-wank Canada...

Democratic-Farmer-Labor (Social democracy, Left-wing populist economically)

Progressive Conservatives (Progressive conservatism, obviously. Also somewhat agrarian populist).

Social Credit (Liberal populism, somewhat libertarian)

Social Credit

Believe In Yourself

What a shitty slogan
They have a fairly weird ideology (Its a mix of liberalism and populism) that's based around the belief that people can do great things.

In the timeline, its called personalism, and its a different version of liberalism. Economically, they view DFL as "nannying the people" and not letting them do things (Huey Long-esque economy), and PC as "ignoring the people's will" by cutting too much from social security and economy stuff. Socially, they view DFL as too moderate on social issues and PC as too regressive on it. Here's a series of quotes that I think describes it best, and they come from Ross Perot, who is, in this world, a personalist.

"It is time to break down the old mould of Canadian politics, and form a new one, based around Liberalism and common-sense, slimmer government!"

"This new 'United America' Treaty that both the socialists and the conservatives support will result in a giant sucking sound, the sound of losing jobs down south of the border to California and Louisiana, and results in the sound of suffering as poor Canadians descend to poverty."

"They both don't care about you, don't trust you, only wants your votes. We of the Social Credit Party wants to make the government slimmer, cut all those unneccessary stuff that serves only to fatten the politiocrats' pockets. The DFL wants to enlarge government so it can 'look after you better'. That's condenscing to me, is it to you? The Prog Cons wants to cut the lifelines that many hard-working Canadians depend on. Ross Perot won't cut your NHS, he won't cut your lifelines, but rather, those of the politiocrats!"

"The socialists and the conservatives don't care about you, they won't give credit to society when credit is due. DFL wants to look after you like a nanny, while the Prog Cons want to abandon you on the streets. There's a middle way between mollycoddling and voter abuse, Social Credit."

This is a graphic somebody made on another forum to show how council elections tend to go against whichever party is in power. However the reason why I post it is that it's a good rundown of party logos over time for the party in power down the middle. (Party logos are a more recent invention than people think; they've only even had consistent rosette colours for about 45 years).

The one problem I see with these is that they're very wordy and necessitate separate francophone logos.

That, and it's hard to see Social Credit as socially libertarian.

Nice use of the BC Conservative's logo as a PC one, TB! I'm thinking of issuing a challenge if anyone is interested. Be warned, its a big one, and totally Canadian-themed.

personally, i've decided that the two main US parties in my ASB ATL--Democrats and Republicans, of course, but with the Democrats being more conservative/libertarian by the present-day and the Republicans being progressives--both use animals as their logos/mascots. except here, the Democrats use a rooster and the Republicans use a moose

Canadian Patriotic Unity Party, a far right party formed from the former Canadian National Patriotic Alliance, which was a coalition of former parties such as the Canadian White Peoples Party and Christian Patriot Party, the party has many white supremacist and anti-francophone policies and was formed from some American and homegrown white supremacist elements including KKK refugees who made their home in western Canada and the maritimes. This party exists in an TL where Canada is a republic whose flag looks like this:

The colours of the party are red, gold and white.
