Alt-History Aftermath Scenarios Implied by Media

In my experience, some of the most virulent, hypocritical anti-Westerners are ones from Western nations themselves. With America in particular it's often a reflection of American exceptionalism, with it being instead only America can do bad and everyone else is just a victim of it. Though this

To make things even more problematic, they have an American expatriate/ traitor , first, build a trans orbital rocket before Sputnik, with zero capital funding and no workers willing to speak about the project. Second, in post World War II-America, fire essentially an ICBM without triggering every radar station from Pearl Harbor to Vladivostok. Third, somehow land that rocket on an asteroid, an action that wasn't done until 2001. Just remember that it's like trying to hit a sniper rifle bullet with a six shooter, and not destroy either bullet, to either gun...

Ahem, to keep this from veering into chat territory, I think all of Clive Cussler's books involve an ATL that's the least bit weird...

To cite the examples I remember right now:

-The United States has Canada.
-The United States is called "United States of Canada".
-This spawn of a country has a practically impenetrable anti-missile shield.
-They also have a federal oceanographic agency... whose agents spend more time doing fucking CIA work than researching the oceans.
-They rescued the Titanic in 1988. This was helped because in this TL the Titanic sank in one piece instead of breaking apart.
-The USSR only continues to function because of the enormous number of American agents in the KGB pretending that everything is normal.
-Japan built nukes as part of a plan to sink the US economy. No one has done anything to take revenge.
-There are tons of Confederate gold coins running around West Africa.
-Kubilai Khan has his grave in Hawaii. Interestingly, no one in China has protested or demanded that it be returned.
-Absurdly OP technology that is never mentioned again.
-The Library of Alexandria is in Texas...

and I could go on but I think this sample is enough.
Don't forget that James Bond is real, but he is a fat, overweight, drunk who is completely STD-ridden.

Just got done watching the Sadness (2021, Taiwan).....YIKES

I could see the US and/or UN allowing People's Republic of China to nuke Taiwan being seen as an appropriate solution in this scenario.

I've always wondered what the newly independent South of Guns of the South would look like circa 1900.

One where the South did a gradual emancipation, assault rifles and machine guns exist in the 1860s, and the south has a potential monopoly of things like Computers and Air Conditioning
And the USA attacked Canada, so an Anglo-American war.

There's several I can think of:

1) War of the Worlds (1953): how long did it take the Martians to start dying, and when did the last invaders arrive? Then there's picking up the pieces afterwards, likely turmoil in the Soviet Bloc, French and British Colonies declaring independence-and not much that could be done about it, trying to reverse-engineer Martian tech, etc. (and how would we know they were Martians?).

2) Countdown to Looking Glass (1984): Did the Superpowers go down the slippery slope to general war, or did cooler heads prevail?

3) Amerika (1987): What happened after the Battle of Milford? Did the spark of revolution start to spread, despite what the Soviets were hoping?

4) By Dawn's Early Light (1990) Several things here: Did the Soviet Union come apart-and how bloody was it? Fighting in Europe-conventional, nuclear, or a bit of both? Situation in the U.S: Martial Law, perhaps? And how to bring U.S. forces home from overseas to help in rebuilding?

5) V (the TV series, 1984-5): What happened after the cease-fire? Since the Leader initiated the cease-fire, he's understood that the war on Earth has gone very bad, and that there's no chance of an outright victory and his forces are being bled white. Earth's terms for a peace agreement are likely to be very serious from the Visitors' POV, but returning the people who were "processed" into cold sleep for eventual consumption/breeding/slave labor, reparations for the material damage (destroyed cities, infrastructure, etc., and return of the water (if possible). And how would the peace be kept? Earth's military forces are likely to start thinking about turning the Solar System into a fortress so that it never happens again-even if it means using captured/transferred Visitor tech as a basis for going forward.

6) War of the Worlds (2005): Similar to 1953 in many respects: post-invasion conflicts are a certainty, rebuilding is going to take a while, and then there's trying to find out who they were, how long were those tripods buried, and are there more, just waiting? And how fast can we get back into space to at least have some early warning?

7) Battle: Los Angeles (2011): The Battle in L.A. is turning in the Marines' favor, but it's going to be a tough slog. Same thing in the other invasion sites. Now, who are the invaders? Where are they from? We know what they want-our water and us out of the way. Do they have ships in orbit or past the Moon, still watching and waiting? And after the invasion is defeated, what's next?
Liked for a mention of "Amerika" . Nobody ever remembers it but it really wasn't bad. 😀

Apart of apparently Ian Flemming, looking for a common but still memorable name for his new hero, looked into his library and finding a birdwatching guide written by a certain James Bond, there is also the story that Sean Connery once got a speeding ticket from British traffic cop also named James Bond. (Off course, Connery being Connery, the story would have never made the news if he -Connery that is- did not let fly a colorful tirade about said cop not trying to make a fool out of him.)

Indeed, such as a secret US Lunar Base discovered,IIRC, in the aftermath of an Russian nuclear warhead detonation in Cuban soil or a Chinese backed major terrorist attempt targeting the Mississippi river locks/dams with the goal of change its curse...
-Kubilai Khan has his grave in Hawaii. Interestingly, no one in China has protested or demanded that it be returned.
Well, it, considering the rest of his plots, the RPCH not wanting it back might be the only thing that,IMO, 'd make more or less sense...

One of the biggest online shows, Bridgerton is actually an alternate history. It proposes that Queen Charlotte, wife of King George III, was actually black. As a result , in ASB fashion, British society is racially blind by the 19th century. #Bridgerton
This is more of a cryptohistory - there is a version according to which one of her ancestors was the Andalusian woman Madragana. The problem is that we have no evidence of Madragana's appearance, and that there were 15 generations before Charlotte - too little genetic contribution. And wide nostrils and heavy lips are also found in "whites".

I thought I'd cover Avengers Campus at the Disney Parks. Stated to be an alternate timeline where the blip never happened but doesn't have much in terms of continuity as it's intended to be the present despite the MCU being chronologically a few years forward. I'll try to work toward explaining this.

It's been stated to be a timeline where the Blip never happened but the POD appears to be before that for some things to make sense.

Black Widow(2016)- Taskmaster is still a villain. This is the earliest possible POD. In the film, Taskmaster is freed when Natasha obtains two antidote vials, giving one to Yulena to free the other Widows. ITTL one vial broke during the destruction of the facility. Taskmaster fought Natasha but Yulena, Alexei and Melina, i.e. Natasha's family, jumped in to help and Taskmaster fled. Since that point Natasha, similar to Steve's hunt for Bucky, has been searching for Taskmaster to free her.

Black Panther, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Doctor Strange seem to have happened the same.

Thor: Ragnarok(2017)-Thor still has Mjolnir but Stormbreaker(if you count its appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout) still exists and Jane Foster as Mighty Thor appears later though they avoid showing Thor with Mjolnir when that character appears to not make it obvious. A small change likely took place. when Odin died and Hela appeared, Thor did not throw his hammer but called lightning, which did very little. Thor and Loki then took off and were stranded on Sakaar. With Mjolnir Thor has no real need to find his inner strength and is likely never caught, fighting his way to the arena and Hulk before escaping. the Avengers Quinjet ar eunlikely to carry them into space as they work on propulsion and Hulk arrives via a wormhole so they steal one of grandmaster's ships. Valkyrie attempts to stop them but is likely won over to help them escape and Korg incites a revolution. A battle ensues as Thor's group arrives to fight Hela. What changes is Thor realizes the prophecy sooner and Loki is with them so he sneaks around as the battle commences and summons Surtur Sooner, leading to an earlier victory but also the destruction of Asgard as they retreat.

Avengers: Infinity War(2018)-Here is where changes begin to occur. First of all if I'm not mistaken there is no Valkyrie, Korg or Miek in Avengers: Campus. It's possible Thanos attacked and destroyed their ship. They likely sent out a distress signal before this happened and then Thanos and the Black Guard attacked the ship Thor and Loki were on. Heimdall was killed but Thor had Mjolnir and Thor, Loki and Hulk were sent to Earth. Here they met Dr.Strange and Wong who contacted Tony. Thor and Hulk surprised to learn about the Sokovia Accords. Loki is not happy to see Strange and Tony not happy to see Loki but is amused to hear about what Strange did to him. There's a brief discussion on Ice cream flavors named after Avengers with Hulk and Thor learning Baskin Robbins made flavors of ice cream named after them called Hulka-Hulka Burning Fudge and Strawberry Thorbet. Thanos's Black Order of Ebony Maw and Cull Obsidian arrive with Spider-Man showing up to help. This time though with Thor in the fight the two are defeated and killed. Thor mentions needing to go form Stormbreaker and heads to the forge with Hulk., who takes Thor's place in the forge and nearly dies. The result is the creation of a similar in appearance Stormbreaker with a wooden handle but not a piece of Groot,

Meanwhile Corvus Glave and Proxima Midnight attacked Scarlet Witch and Vision with other Avengers jumping in to help. Vision is taken to Wakanda where Thanos arrives with the army and only the Power Stone. As without Loki dying and the Tesseract being obtained(he is alive in Avengers C.A.M.P.U.S.) Thanos cannot teleport. A battle ensues that ends in Vision's death but Thor arriving just in time to stab Thanos in the chest and finish him off while he lacks the Stones. Vision is dead(he doe snot appear in Avengers C.A.M.P.U.S.). The Guardians of the Galaxy meanwhile do not head to Earth and Gamora(another character alive in C.A.M.P.U.S.) does not die. They eventually do head to Earth and formally meet the Avengers,

An immediate result of this is the Pyms and Lang not disappearing, meaning they cure Ghost.

The Avengers in the aftermath of stopping Thanos form the C.A.M.P.U.S. with bases in Los Angeles and Paris with others to be founded to train new recruits including the W.E.B. program led by Peter Parker to train young heroes. This includes Harley Keener(kid from Iron Man 3), Cassie Lang, Miles Morales(maybe also bitten?), Gwen Stacy(maybe or maybe not with powers, I'd imagine there tech based here), Doreen Green(Squirrel Girl, I imagine she has some kind of Ant-man tech but for Squirrels).Riri Williams(possibly trained by Tony Stark with Keener), Rick Jones, Amadeus Cho(both likely Banner Protogees), Lunella Lafeyette(Moon Girl), Anya Corazon(Arana/Spider-Girl), Onome, Dante Pertuz(inferno), Shaun Lucas(Patriot), and Takeshi Matsuya(Wiz Kid).

Toyn Stark designs the LXXX(80) Armor(He uses it in the Parks so that Disney can have a suit combining all the iconic elements. The Armor in Infinity War was MKL(50) and Endgame was Mk LXXXV(85)). He also still built the rescue Armor.

Loki is free to roam the Avengers: Campus, presumably having been forgiven or possibly pardoned for his role in the Chitauri Invasion. It's possible most would assume his variants like TVA Loki and President Loki are him in a different outfit.

The Collector is also alive without Thanos killing him and he will grow more ambitious as a villain with him gone(similar to Episode 2 of What if?) which leads him to abduct the Guardians of the Galaxy in Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout and the events of its sequel, Monsters After Dark. The Collector's experiments on Groot turned him back into a baby, though upon being freed he grew at a faster than normal rate back into adulthood(Baby in Breakout, adult in Cosmic Rewind).

Now onto how individual shows and films would be changed by no Blip.

Wandavision- Likely does not happen as the Avengers being around means including Stark means they can obtain Vision's body. Agatha Harkness actually appeared as a character during Halloween. In my theory, because there was no Westview, Agatha simply approached Wanda and offered to teacher her. As a result Agatha walks around Avengers C.A.M.P.U.S. freely subconsciously influencing Wanda, who is now dressing as and calling herself the Scarlet Witch without the actions she undertook in Multiverse of Madness.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier-Steve Rogers is still young but has passed the mantle to Sam willingly as he appears in that role in the Parks. He is still there to train Sam and help Bucky. No Flagsmashers exist due to no Blip. Sharon Carter does not become the Power Broker and Zemo is still imprisoned also because of this. Also with Steve and Sam around John Walker does not become Captain America.

Shang Chi-Originally in 2024 but needs to be moved down due to Shang-Chi's early appearance. For this to happen i'm going to propose that Tony, with Thanos dead, is now more active as a hero even with a young daughter at home. He stumbles on proof the Ten Rings still exists. This results in an interesting case of Iron Man in Shang Chi. Tony knows that the Ten Rings want to capture Chang when a video of him fighting goes viral and he arrives in Iron Man armor and questions them. To learn more he recruit Shang Chi and his friend Katy to infiltrate and then helps them escape, sharing an awkward reunion with Trevor Slattery. He goes with the group to Ta Lo and does much to help defend it thanks to his advance technology, including flying around to attack both Wenwu. The Dweller in the Darkness is partly released, something barely done thanks to Tony helps Shang-Chi. Wenwu is killed and passed the ten Rings to Shang-Chi, who then helps Iron Man defeat the Dweller. Death Dealer is still alive and is presumably now running the Ten Rings after refusing to bow down to WenWu's children, leading to fights with Shang-Chi.

Eternals-The Events of this film are triggered earlier as without the Blip, the population reaches the necessary amount to facilitate the Celestial awakening. Ajak tells Ikaris she plans to tell the Avengers of the Celestial and is killed with the Deviants escaping. The remaining eternals convene and reluctantly go to the Avengers fo help, revealing their existence. As a result they have an easier time defeating Sprite and Ikaris as well as killing the Celestial, even destroying most of its body. For this specific mission due to the cosmic danger level, Fury called in Captain Marvel. In the aftermath Captain Marvel and the Eternals Sersi, Kingo and Phastos are celebrities as their involvement is public knowledge. Sersi was the main one responsible and the most positive about humanity, Kingo now enjoy even greater success as a Superhero with the whole event recorded as well as the reveal he is actually several generations of famous actors and producers and Phastos now has many job offers. The rest of the Eternals leave and notably a Celestial does not show up(Sersi, Kingo and Phastos were the only Eternal characters to appear in the Parks),

Far from Home and No Way Home-With Tony alive, Beck goes after him directly and is likely defeated. As a result he does not reveal Peter Parker's identity(assuming it is secret as he seems to not try to hide it to a whole audience it in his ride at the park)and those events don't happen. I wish we'd have the No Way Home villains like Doc Ock walking around though this is not impossible. For Halloween they opened a portal and Zombie Cap stepped out, maybe something similar could happen but lead to the Raimiverse.

Multiverse of Madness-Does not happen due to a saner Wanda. America Chavez is a member of W.E.B. this is strange by the MCU's own logic there is only one Chavez but its likely this is the America Chavez and she just visits other universes from time to time, presumably this one for training. Something similar is likely happening with TVA Loki while President Loki somehow survived and escaped his apparent death, possibly using magic to make his lost hand appear still there. Chavez must have joined after Multiverse of Madness since she'd never heard of Spider-Man and is now working alongside him.

Hawkeye-Kate Bishop does appear but the rest of the series would not happen due to the Ronin costume never existing and Yelena having no reason to hunt Clint with Natasha still alive. I'd say Bishop was part of W.E.B. Clint thought she had potential and began training her as his apprentice.

Moon Knight-Seems to have happened a few years earlier, likely due to the antagonist moving up his plans. This also means Moon Knight did not escape the eye of the Avengers, presumably due to that Kaiju god battle in Egypt. He must be one of the most awkward people for the heroes to have a conversation with.

She-Hulk-Does exist but isn't physically. A bench with an ad for the character's law practice is present. Since they do't want to be a superhero this makes meta sense. Hulk is present but from what I can tell he's always in his time travel suit. My guess is with no rush he's experimenting with it but doe snot have as much progress.

Ms.Marvel-This is another case of it happened earlier, though Kamala's powers are possibly activated another way since she already had them. They were just activated. Part of the reason why Captain Marvel helped defeat the Celestial as they never would have been famous if Thanos was defeated before she arrived since in universe her popularity was due to her holding her own against him. Bruno Carrelli is a member of W.E.B.

Thor: Love and Thunder- Its possible Gor hasn't attacked yet as he would in 2025. I'd say this makes the most sense and Jane isn't diagnosed with cancer yet, Thor instead occasionally lends her Mjolnir after a time when she lifted it(maybe in battle with the Celestial in what I assume was a moment similar to Cap lifting Mjolnir but as a bait and switch where its revealed to be Jane). I can't imagine Thor lending the hammer is she has cancer, unless it progresses to the extent that Jane remains empowered for ever to stave it off. Another possibility is Gor is killed and his sword shattered with Thor wishing Jane's cancer away, though if he did that it would likely be all the world's cancer which seems a bit too Utopic. On the plus side Korg is dead meaning they don't take the Goats with them as he's not there to communicate with them.

Red, White and Royal Blue:

-The 2016 US election was won by a female Democrat (one from Texas)
-There's a different collection for UK Royal Family (albeit not much has changed with that)

SPOILERS:
-the Prince of Wales and the First Son of the USA have a relationship that's outed by the latter's mother's political opposition campaign via doxxing their emails and sending them to the Daily Mail

The Superman Movie:

A corporate guy just tried to nuke the US out of existence by hitting the tectonic plates with alien rocks for some real estate
World was saved by a humanoid godlike alien from a lost civilisation with some technological remnants in Antarctica who so happens to be an american citizen after said alien broke the Speed of Light so hard that the WHOLE PLANET went backwards in time

That sure will impact the mentality of America and humanity as a whole

And the Cold War? What Cold War? The US has Superman and if you nuke it he can just remind time! Good luck with that

Yeah just take off the whole Brainiac plotline and Red Superman just wins, with or without Luthor(which he could have at any point broke the neck or lobotomized like he did with criminals for his constant public atempts on his life)

The entire Luthor plot towards the end was the only thing that niggled me about Red Son. Surely at some point one of the attempts on his life had to qualify as a act of war.....

He took down Russian Batman for less
I mean sure the red sunlight came the closest to killing him, but you'd think - after Luthor successfully made a bootleg Superman(Bizarro) - that Kar-El would take that as a wake up call
Heck he killed Stalin at the very start of the story and Luthor being Luthor I'm very sure he at least atempted as many war crimes as Mr.Mustacheman

When Yellowstone erupts and engulfs the world in a long dark winter... you get Darkest Days by Stanley Gallon

Being a US writer he only writes about the USA. Doesn't even mention Canada or Mexico. And the political stuff is bonkers although I can think of one recent US President who might go that way.
But the world is struggling to grow enough food and there are land grabs by all 3 major powers - USA, Russia and China - because the EU wasn't on his radar? Or it ceased to exist?
There's also the strong hint that the internal trouble in the main story continues after the bad guy is replaced. There's enforced chipping so that US citizens can claim food and benefits, elections and voting have been stopped, the US military has quadrupled nearly overnight, troops have no contact with home for years, food must be being taken from African nations by force, tactical nuclear strikes are common in resource battles...
