71. Galactic Empire - Imperialist
Try the darth Vader mod for star wars

The super star destroyer Executor crash lands on Earth, near the Persian gulf in the desert of Kuwait. After beginning repair in secrecy, the stormtroopers set out to quickly subjugate neighboring regions to bring their resources to the reconstruction effort. Arab countries are quickly overrun with superior weaponry, even though stormtrooper numbers are limited. To maintain order, the Empire begins recruiting locals, paying them well. To improve the industrial base of the Executor command post, the conquered lands are uplifted. Additional territories beckon. Taking advantage of British distraction with fighting in Europe, the Empire takes over Iran. Soon after, a civil war in Turkey allows the Empire to quickly bypass the undefended border and seize the strategically placed country.

By this time, the rest of world begins to understand the presence of the aliens, however the world is already locked in a three-way war between the western democracies, fascists, and communists.

By allying with the Western Democracies, the Empire is able to guarantee the safety of its colonial borders from naval invasion while concentrating its small but heavily armored army into overrunning the Eurasian landmass. Pushing the Caucasus all the way to Korea, the only barrier stopping the advance is the sea. Without enough airborne craft to land an invasion of Japan, the army waits while enough sea units are produced to distract the Japanese Navy. Once the way is cleared, the Japanese defenders find themselves completely outmaneuvered by repulsor tanks, who are able to ignore terrain difficulties by simply hovering over them. The mountainous island country, once though un-invadable was taken in short order.

Now that the dust settles, Darth Vader petitions the United Nation to join his dominion to the rest of Humanity. However, western leaders are suspicious, since allowing the Empire to participate in the U.N. would simply allow Darth Vader to usurp control from within. However, the alternative is another world war, one they cannot win now that Darth Vader has intercontinental ballistic concussion bombardment available...

72. Greece - Communist
Try a run as communist Greece in the new dlc

The old world was falling away. In Greece, the monarchists were exiled and the republicans were forced to concede to the communists, to protect Greece from the rising fascist threat. Indeed, the British had a fascist takeover, and because of that, the French were forced to take a more active role in defending Eastern Europe from Germany.
When Germany invaded Czechoslovakia, the dominoes began to fall... Romania, Yugoslavia, Hungary were all occupied by the German Army. Luckily for Greece, bulgaria did not join the war quickly, and so was pre-emptively invaded to create a northern buffer region beyond the border.
On the Western Front, all was quiet, as the Maginot and Dutch Water lines proved too difficult for the Germans to break through.
Meanwhile in Turkey, the Turks tried to genocide the Kurds, who revolted in response. Turkey fell into civil war as the republicans tried to keep the country from falling into the hands of imperialists. Greece took advantage of the chaos to invade Turkey, saving the Kurds while finally accomplishing the Magli Idea.
However, just when things were looking good, Italy decided to invade Greece. Fortunately, Germans gotten too friendly with the Soviets, so the Italians joined the British Empire, who were more resolutely anti-communist.
Greece endured a devastating British naval invasion, but fought back and reclaimed the islands with the help of a new submarine fleet.
Meanwhile in the Americas, Mexico joined the Axis and raised hell throughout Central and South America, causing vast casualties to the Americans in irregular jungle warfare. Enraged at the Nazis for giving foreign support to the latino warmongers, the USA joined the French in the war against Germany. Not long after, the Italo-British and Franco-American alliances, paranoid about Nazbol cooperation, joined their alliances together to fight the combined "Berlin-Moscow Axis of Evil"
Although the western allies started with superior industry, the Soviets and Germans were able to mobilize their armies more quickly and on each front, they slowly pushed the allies back.
The first major breakthrough was in Italy, where the Greeks managed to capture Sicily. From there, they rolled up the Italian boot, capturing Rome and stopping only at the Alps, unable to break the Swiss and French defenses.
The second major breakthrough came when fascist Portugal invaded republican Spain, quickly overrunning it. However the Comintern managed to send a large army through a single port near seville, beginning a re-conquest that would trap millions of British and American soldiers. Once those pockets were cleaned up, comintern armies rolled through southern France, all the way to Paris.
This marks the annoying phase of the war, where the Americans and British sent hundreds of thousands of men into counter-invasions of Spain and France, each one contained at great cost to the commintern. Something had to be done to stop the naval invasions that could break the war effort. A plan was devised to invade England, to distract the Royal Navy enough to get it out of the channel, then temporarily close off the channel with the fleet of Greek submarines long enough to land armies and capitualte the British, removing the ports that threatened Europe.
The plan worked, but right after the invasion was launched, many of the transport craft and the entire warship navy were instantly destroyed by naval aircraft. Despite these losses, the Greek army had enough men to overwhelm the defenders, as they had overextended themselves sending men around the world.
Just as the British capitualed and the end of the war seemed close, the Germans betrayed the Soviet friendship agreement and tried to take over the Soviet half of Poland. In a lightning war, millions of Soviets were killed. This noble sacrifice blunted the spear of the German assault, allowing time for the Greeks to send their Army from England to counter-invade Germany from the Netherlands, while using the reserve army to liberate the Balkans from german occupation.
By the time Greek armies were at the gates of Berlin, there was a serious problem causing the army to be too weak to advance: occupying all of western europe required hundreds of thousands of men, men greece didn't have due to losing millions over the course of the war. On average, each combat division was down to 50% manpower strength. The only reason the frontline remained stable was because the Germans had also suffered horrendously, and thus couldn't counter-attack.
The Greek high command decided that the war would have to end in the next few months, so a huge gamble was made: the entire reserve army would be disbanded, and occupation of enemy territories would be handed over to local (often non-existent) police. The free manpower would be folded into the remaining combat divisions to make one final desperate push to capitulate the Germans.
Berlin was captured, Vienna, Munich, Hamburg... but the Germans hadn't given up and now resistance in occupied lands was dangerous enough that partisans might overthrow the Greeks. Until finally, right at the breaking moment the final German stronghold was captured, and the war ended.

In Europe, the Comintern reigns supreme, with a restored Byzantium proudly delivering socialism to the people. In Asia, the Japanese have managed to successfully fend off the American fleets and retain their new asian dominion. Australia, having quit the British Empire when it turned fascist, remains and independent democracy protected by the comintern. In Africa, Soviet armies liberated many colonies, and with the ceasefire stand before the new Afrikan Empire, risen from the ashes of the British Empire in Africa. In America, the fascist Canadians have taken over the remnant of territories belonging to Britain. The rest are democracies protected or occupied by the USA.

73. Romania - Fascist
Perhaps a fascist Romania?

The World started to really burn when the Japanese Civil War went global. The anti-imperialists which were besieged in Tokyo started receiving help from Germany, while the Japanese Imperial Army received help from the British Empire. This meant that Germany joined the French-Commonwealth Allies against the fascist British regime. It also meant that both the democracies and fascists were now at war with the Comintern, since the Soviet Union decided the Civil War was the perfect opportunity to invade both Japanese factions.

While the world burned, Romania quietly established their own dominance in the Balkans, creating a puppet regime in Bulgaria, while fusing the crowns of Romania-Hungary. However, Romania could not expand further, since the republics and kingdoms to the south would surely join the Allies, and Soviets were still too strong to take on directly.

So for years, Romania built up its army while waiting to see which side would gain the upper hand. It turns out the democracies were winning, with the newly established Kingdom of France claiming the throne of the deposed spanish monarchy, and single-handedly defeated Italy. Meanwhile, Germany helped supply France and Japan as they fought through the colonies and around the Soviet periphery.

Now that the army was properly equipped with tank support, Romania was confident enough to invade the Soviets. The declaration of war allowed Romania to join the Allies, which meant Yugoslavia, Greece, and Turkey would no longer be protected from aggression. They all fell quickly, then allies armies flooded into Russian territory from the newly opened fronts.

The world wars are now concluded. While the British are safe behind their Royal Navy, they now remain isolated from the rest of the world.

74. Bhutan - Neutral/Monarchist
Play as Bhutan. Non-aligned path. Historical AI. Do not expand to other countries.

First, Japan invaded China. Then, they moved through the South Asian islands. Then, they reached Burma. By this time, Bhutan had imported a considerable amount of portable artillery to outfit their specially-trained mountain troops with heavy firepower. As Japanese armies spilled into the Bengal basin, the army of Bhutan marched out. Time and time again, they surprised the Japanese, by moving large amounts of artillery over mountains that Japanese units dared not cross on foot. This superiority in maneuver and firepower allowed all four divisions of the army to whip the Japanese, even as the rest of India collapsed.

By the time the Americans had reached the Japanese Home Islands and imposed their ceasefire, Bhutan had suffered 50,000 losses, about 10% of the population. In return, the Assam mountains around Bhutan were now home to half a million Japanese graves. The fiercest army of the whole World War, soldiers of Bhutan collectively achieved a 10-to-1 kill ratio despite being heavily outnumbered...

Once the surrender was formalized, Bhutan had the honor of helping India restore local rule as the Japanese occupiers were sent home. Much of the same was happening all over Asia, though in many former colonies, the previous governments were not invited back...

75. Ukraine - Fascist
Or could I just request a game where you release Ukraine in 1936, turn fascist and puppet the European nations?

"[Ukraine's] certain territorial ambitions represents an enormous danger for all of Eurasia and, without resolving the Ukrainian problem, it is in general senseless to speak about continental politics"

How did Ukraine suddenly achieve independence with Stalin's blessing? A great story, for another time!

Ukraine, having little industry, set about rapid buildup of military production, so that it could achieve grand ambitions of conquest. The fascist party quickly took over. However, Ukraine had to wait a full three years for the entirely fresh army to be trained and equipped.

Meanwhile, Turkey founded a third-way neutral block to oppose both the Soviets and Allies. War broke out, with the British attempting to topple the government in Turkey. Spain and Romania joined, as did Yugoslavia when Italy invaded. This was a golden opportunity. Ukraine could break out of its borders without fighting against the stronger great powers that would guarantee the independence of smaller countries.

So, before the army was even finished distributing enough rifles, war was delcared on Romania, and the invasion began. Swiftly, most of the Balkans fell. Greece and Bulgaria joined fascist Italy, which formed an Alliance with France. Ukrained also joined union of international nationalists for conquest. Since the Allies were friendly co-belligerents, Ukraine forced wars on neighbor after neighbor, taking advantage of the lack of British guarantees. Even mighty Germany fell before the onslaught. However, by the time the minor countries of Europe had been captured, the wars ended and the British turned hostile. Ukraine decided that they could gobble up the rest of the small countries in west and northern europe and let its allies fend off the British while moving on to a larger prize...

The Soviet Union presented to final challenge. However, the USA and Japan joined the Allies, and started fighting brutal colonial wars against the Chinese and fascists. Also, America was able to execute major naval invasions of Europe, taking over most of France.

Now that modern tanks were beginning production, Ukraine integrated them in frontline divisions as infantry support. With their help, the invasion of the Soviet Union resulted in fewer casualties than the invasion of Germany, since the Infantry had some fire support and armor protection, instead of pure human wave attacks. Still, the Soviet Union was large enough that the rolling offensive took a full year just to occupy European Russia. A large Soviet army was trapped in the Middle East and destroyed, with it, were the hopes of a counter-attack, and so the Soviets Surrendered.

With this victory, it was clear that the Allies would not be able to maintain a position in Eurasia, so peace was made. The situation in China is a compromise that nobody is happy with.

76. Germany - Democratic
Democratic Germany avoiding WW2

While Germany and America sleep, the British and French intervene in the Balkans, eventually rescuing the various nations there from many threats, both foreign and domestic.

Among those threats are the Soviets, who push on all borders inciting incidents. Eventually the spark is lit in Finland, and Europe goes to war to defend itself from the Red Menace.

Meanwhile, China has beaten back the Japanese invasion with the help of weapons and "advisors" from certain western neutral countries that want to keep the Japanese out and the door "open"... Japan retaliates by dragging the USA openly into the war. Since the US fleet stayed in San Diego, it is completely intact at the start of the war and by a few strokes of luck is able to cripple Japanese fleets. With too much manpower stuck in Asia or defensive island positions, there are few defenses on the home islands, which the Americans take advantage. Soon, Marines are at the gates of Tokyo and terms of surrender are accepted.

The USA, having kept China safely open to liberal democracy and free trade, resumes neutrality.

After a few years of bloody grinding, the Allies have not penetrated far into Soviet territory and are being slowly pushed back, but the Soviets are in no condition to invade Europe alone. A ceasefire will be sure to come soon...

77. Bonus Round IV - Crusader Kings 3 -> EU4 -> Vic2
since you've done some occasional CK2 ones before:
- Harold Godwinson AD -1066 (Vanilla/CK2+)

In 1066, Harold Godwin defends his throne by making marriage alliances with neighboring kings and powerful vassals. However, these vassals grow unrestful after years of war fighting off invaders. In order to sabotage them while maintaining an alliance, he gives defective daughters to his most powerful fiefs. This includes a dwarf daughter which is married to the rebellious duke of Northumbria.

Harold's son Godwine the Flayer inherits in 1089, increases crown authority but faces backlash from rebellious vassals. He earns much dread and tyranny trying to repress the various factions that crop up. Eventually, the daughter of the duke of Northumbria, who is a dwarf child like her mother, claims the throne. Under the guidance of the Duke of Northumbria she is a puppet, and is used by the Duke who takes advantage of the kingdom's weakness from the civil wars over crown authority to overthrow Godwine the Flayer in 1101. During her short reign she is dubbed "the doll queen" due to her stature and function. However, the family of Godwin, his brothers and uncles who were made dukes and counts, come together to re-install the rightful male heir of Harold on the throne in 1106. Shortly afterwards, the Duke of Mercia bribes his way though the election and the recently re-crowned king dies before he can adjust succession in 1109.

Godwine's son Onlaf of Cornwall attempts to overthrow the usurper but receives no support from family and allies, and is forced to abandon his claim to the kingdom and abdicate his duchy to his adolescent son Magnus. Thus the rule of the kingdom of England passed from the hands of the Godwin dynasty in 1110.

However, 35 years later the Mercian king dies, and through the election 1145 a cousin of Godwine the Flayer is crowned, Ethelwine of Deira. He is old and dies in 4 years, replaced by his son in 1149. His son also only lasts 4 years as a faction forms throughout the kingdom to restore the throne to the proper branch of the house of Godwin, so the throne is seized by Wulffled and Eadgifu sisters, who were Nurthumbrian nobles, nieces of Godwine the Flayer. The elder sister's son was Magnus, the original heir of Onlaf, deposed prince of Godwine. Thus with the ascension of Magnus in 1153, Godwin rule is restored.

Magnus was succeeded by his son Sebert, who led the successful crusade for Lithuania, installing his queen mother as regent there.

Sebert was succeeded by Magnus II, who was overthrown in 1213, leaving England to rule Lithuania as its king. The revolt leader was his aunt Edgifu, sister of king Sebert. She was hated as a leper and a dwarf, even by the prince Ulf (her and Sebert's brother) who she designated as the rightful heir to the throne. Ulf Barton was crowned in 1204. Thus the house Barton, of the Godwin Dynasty, begins its reign.

Ulf's son Ulf II inherits in 1230. He leads a successful crusade for Iceland against heretics. From then on, Iceland is a colony of England.

Ulf II's son Sigered inherits in 1259, but dies without sons in 1267. His daughter Elgifu takes over as regent and faces multiple civil wars. When the wars are over, she revokes the duchies of the rebellious vassals and instead directly oversees the earldom fiefs. Her centralization program finishes in 1273.
When Ulf II's younger brother Beorhtwaru comes of age, the queen regent steps down and crowns him in 1281.

Beorhtwaru's son Hereweard inherits in 1283.

Hereweard's son Sigered II inherits in 1307

Sigered II's son Wulfgar the Terrible inherits in 1329. He was notable for expanding on Elgifu's centralization through brutal enforcement with mass imprisonment and torture. His system of keeping the nobility in line would later be dubbed by historians as the "prison-feudal complex".

Wulfgar outlives his son and Wulfgar's grandson Cuthberht the Eater inherits in 1382. Cuthberht was known for his lavish feasting, as well as his manpower-consuming conquests where Wales was subjugated, thus his nickname was given.

Cuthberht's son Eadfrith the Consolidator inherits in 1437. The nobility of England attempt one final rebellion to undo centralized authority and are crushed. Thus in 1442 England is finally consolidated into an early-modern nation-state with administration being given not to fiefs but loyal office-holders. Although feudalism isn't quite over, the winds of change are blowing...

The situation in 1444:

ck3_godwin_1444.png

As a nation, England conquers Scotland and Northern Ireland. With the discovery of the Americas, colonies are founded in Mexico and the Caribbean. Along the way, many great power wars are fought on the continent of Europe.

Notable events were the fall of the Eastern Roman Empire, followed by the rise of Romania and Transylvania. Transylvania was a Romanian state that conquered much of the balkans, while Romania was a Greek state that reclaimed the Black Sea area.

Despite a tumultuous history, the present superpower of Europe is the Holy Roman Empire. Meanwhile, New Holland dominates the Americas and Asia/Pacific in partnership with the Sri Lankan Empire. Meanwhile, Finland dominates eastern Europe and continental Asia.

These positions of these three major powers were cemented in the World War of 1920-1924, Where France and Italy were batted down a notch, and Britain was forced to concede German domination of Europe.

ck3_godwin_1924.png

78. Libya - Neutral/Monarchist
Release Libya at game start and unite Africa.

With Electoral victories for Labour in Britain, it was clear that a new leftists approach would dramatically change British policy. Decolonization was supposedly done to benefit both the homeland and the colonized peoples, though in reality all it did was leave new orphan colonies to the sharks... Although Libya was also recently independent, it was allowed its own army, and quickly fielded mobile cavalry divisions to fill in the void that the British left behind.

The luckiest break the Libyans had was against South Africa, where the declaration of war against botswana triggered a counter declaration of war. However, the South Africans only bordered the Libyan territories at the tip of Namibia, so the South Africans sent half their army to the wrong side of the Kalahari desert. The few motorized units the Libyans managed to scavenge together rushed south through zimbabwe, and captured most of South Africa without resistance. Only at Pretoria and Cape was there origanized resistance, and they were surrounded, cut off, and quickly eliminated.

One by one African countries fell, until only fascist Portugal was left as the nation whose African holdings the Allies were not willing to defend. An alliance was made with Germany, who quickly crushed the Portuguese mainland, a mere sideshow in their crusade against the Soviet Union.

Now the world is at peace. Africa, although not completely united, has gone as far as it can, since Germany refuses to be dragged into yet another World War with the Franco-British and powerful Americans after they had a hard enough time digesting Russia...
