The Fourth Cantor Ministry (Republican Party) was the 116th ministry of the United States. It was led by the country's 42nd Prime Minister, Eric Cantor of Virginia, who had been serving as Prime Minister since 2013 upon the retirement of Thomas Hensarling. It succeeded the Third Cantor Ministry following the 2018 American General Elections on November 6, 2018.

The 11th Doctor (played by Peter Capaldi) first appeared in the episode Journey's End, where the Doctor (played by David Tennant) was killed by a blast from a Dalek. The 11th Doctor was known to be more angry and cruel than his previous incarnation, killing all of the Daleks that captured Earth and the other planets before returning Earth to its proper location. However, since the regeneration process wasn't quite complete, Donna was exposed to large amounts of regeneration energy, which almost caused her to die, leading to the Doctor to erase her memories of their adventures together. For the rest of the Specials, The Doctor lacked a companion. Throughout his stories he is nicknamed the "Time Lord Victorious", originally a title given to him by Captain Adelaide Brooke in the episode, "The Waters of Mars", the fourth episode the 11th Doctor appeared in during the 2009 specials. The 2009 specials consisted of the episodes, "The Planet of the Dead", "The Ghost Monument", "The Waters of Mars", and the two-parter "The End of Time". The End of Time brought back David Tennant as the 10th Doctor as both Doctors face off against the Master, who has regained a body and plans to bring Gallifray back from depths of the Time War and into the present. This improved Capaldi's entrance with the fans, some of whom felt like the 10th Doctor was stolen from them.

Series 5 begins with the Episode "The Next Doctor" where the Doctor encounters a man who claims to be the Doctor alongside his companion. In the end it is revealed that the man is actually Jackson Lake and his partner Rosita Farsisi. This season who start the arc question of who River Song actually is as the Doctor keeps encountering her. It is revealed that she is actually an assassin sent to kill the Doctor, it is also revealed that she has Time Lord DNA in her body thanks to being related to a future companion of the Doctor.
Series 6 starts with the three part episodes "Asylum of the Daleks", "Victory of the Daleks", and "Revolution of the Daleks. and would begin the brief arc about the "Impossible Girl" Clara Oswin Oswald, who seemed to exist in multiple places throughout time. The Daleks would be remodeled to look more scrapped together, since they are supposed to be the last survivors of the Time War, leaving their armor to be built from scraps. It would be reavealed in the Episode "Closing Time" that Clara was actually a Time Agent, from the 49th Century who had died in the time stream thanks to a faulty vortex manipulator while escaping an army of Cybermen. Unfortunately, the Doctor learns of this as she leaves, leaving him to be killed by the Cybermen, and using his regeneration energy to protect himself as he returned to the TARDIS. When he arrived, the regeneration energy was so powerful that it caused the TARDIS to crash in London in the year 2013, leading to the first arch of the 12th Doctor.

The 11th Doctor would return for the 50th Anniversary Specials: "The Night of The Doctor", "The Day of The Doctor", and the "Time of The Doctor". The Night of the Doctor focused of the early parts of the Time War, where the 8th Doctor, the War Doctor (John Hurt), and the 9th Doctor team up for a fight against a horrifying Dalek-Time Lord hybrid. The Day of the Doctor focused on the end of the Time War, where the War Doctor, 10th Doctor, and 11th Doctor would team up to face off against an invasion of Zygon. The Time of the Doctor stars all the Doctors from the 4th through to 12th with a brief cameo appearance from the 13th Doctor (played by Jenna Coleman), as they face off against a brand new regeneration of the Master (played by Matt Smith) who plans to destroy the Doctor once and for all time.

BRITPRES1968.png

The 1968 presidential election of the newly-formed United Republic of Great Britain and Northern Ireland was held on 19 December, 1968. It was the first presidential election in the United Republic following the abolition of the monarchy and the exile of the House of Windsor. Incumbent President Harold Wilson defeated former Admiral of the Fleet Louis Mountbatten, formerly the Earl Mountbatten of Burma, the uncle-in-law of the exiled Queen Elizabeth II.

The United Republic was declared following the revelation in August 1968 of the Royal Family's involvement in the coup plots against Wilson planned for October of that year. The plot, led by Mountbatten and publishing magnate Cecil King, arose out of dissatisfaction among the right-wing elite with the left-wing Wilson government, and sought to install a military-backed government with Mountbatten, a former Chief of the Defence Staff, at the helm. Conspirators included multiple wealthy businessmen, MI5 agents, and ex-military officials, threatened by the growth of trade unionism and the influence unions had on the Labour Party. They orchestrated a media campaign, spreading false allegations that Wilson and his private secretary and political confidante, Marcia Williams, were Communist agents. Upon the exposition of the plots, the conspirators were detained and interrogated. One of them, Chief Scientific Adviser Sir Solly Zuckerman, revealed that the Queen and her husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh were closely involved in the planning and financing of the coup plans. Upon the revelation that the Queen actively sought to overthrow a democratically elected government, public support for the monarchy crashed. Wilson declared a republic with himself as interim President, and most of the Royal Family fled to Ottawa.

The 1968 election saw President Wilson, with public sympathy heavily on his side, win a full term of ten years (as prescribed in the recently-ratified British Republican Constitution), defeating Louis Mountbatten by a landslide. Wilson subsequently named Barbara Castle to the post of Prime Minister, Frederick Lee as Vice President, and Marcia Williams as Chief of Staff. Mountbatten, who campaigned via television and radio from a ship he had commandeered and staffed with Royal Navy officers loyal to him, never set foot in Great Britain again.

The 1968 election was seen as the death knell for the British monarchy, with the crushing defeat of the Loyalist movement signaling the sheer unpopularity of the House of Windsor after the exposure of their involvement in the coup plots. Pierre Trudeau's government in Canada initiated and campaigned for the ultimately successful republic referendum of 1969, ousting the Windsors from Ottawa, while the revelations led Australia's Labor Party, led by Gough Whitlam, to a landslide majority and another successful republic referendum in 1972. Several other members of the Commonwealth soon held referenda or declared independence as well.

The election was dramatized in numerous films, such as The Mountbatten Affair, The Election of 1968, and One Week In September. It was also parodied in the comedic musical play Goodbye Mrs. Windsor.

Is it a presidential or a semi-presidential system, and how was Mountbatten able to be a candidate when he was one of the coup plotters?

On October 9, 1958, His Holiness, Pope Pius XII, died at the age of 82. His doctor said he practically worked himself to death and could've lived another 20 years as he was in perfect health for someone his age. So, what would happen if he lived another 20 years?...

"His Holiness: Pope Pius XII, has passed away at the age of 102. The cause of death is still unknown. The Catholic world is in shock as this 39-year pontificate has now come to an end. The College of Cardinals is said to be assembling to elect a new Pontiff in the Coming week."- ABC News Coverage (October 9, 1978)

"I announce to you with great joy; we have a Pope: The most eminent and most reverend lord, Lord Karol Cardinal of the Holy Roman Church Wojtyła who has taken the name John Pius I"- Translation of the announcement of a new pope made by Cardinal Pericle Felici

So both the Habsburgs and Bourbon on the British (?) throne? Cursed, but I do like it.

In this timeline (Which may or may not get it's own post) Edward VII's Brother, Henry, married a Hapsburg Duchess, and they had children, a couple of them married into the house of Bourbon, when Francis II takes over, he abdicates because he got sick of the job and Louis XVI (who is his cousin in this timeline) takes over the Throne and his family continue to rule Britain, France and the Commonwealth (Canada doesn't have to deal with Quebec separatism and Australia and New Zealand have a sizeable French speaking population now) to this day.

Is it a presidential or a semi-presidential system, and how was Mountbatten able to be a candidate when he was one of the coup plotters?

Wilson wielded a significant amount of power (even more than the US President) in the early days of the republic, while the country was still stabilizing and reeling from the effects of the abolition of the monarchy, the nobility, and several more of Britain's oldest institutions. About halfway through his term things smoothed out and Britain evolved into a system somewhere in between the French and German presidencies.

Mountbatten was able to run for a couple reasons: first, while his connection to the plots was known, his exact role (the fact that he was to be installed as the new PM) wasn't exactly revealed until much later. Secondly, the loyalist movement almost immediately coalesced around him as the main figure who would be able to challenge Wilson. Mountbatten's experience in diplomacy, politics, and the military made him the ideal candidate. Lastly, while Wilson and his allies were suspicious of Mountbatten's involvement from the moment the plot was uncovered, he ultimately realized that a landslide was imminent (virtually every political party had turned on the monarchy), and that a resounding defeat of Mountbatten (and by extension, the Windsors) would only give legitimacy to the new republic.

The UEFA European Cup is an annual football club competition organised by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and contested by top-division European clubs. It is one of the most prestigious football tournaments in the world and the most prestigious club competition in European football, played by the national league champions (and, for some nations, one or more runners-up) of their national associations.

Introduced in 1951, the European Cup for the vast majority of its existence was a straight knockout competition open only to the champion club of each national league. The competition remained this way until 1998, when it was reformed to allow multiple entrants from certain countries, namely the countries with the best leagues. In 2008, a group phase was added and the tournament was split into a 24-team final tournament and a set of qualifiers for teams from lower-ranked nations. Clubs that finish next-in-line in their national league, having not qualified for the European Cup, can qualify for the UEFA Cup, the continent's second-tier competition.

In its present format, the European Cup begins in July with the preliminary competition, a straight knockout competition between the champions of UEFA's lowest eight ranked nations. This is followed by several qualification rounds, whereby eight qualifying teams join sixteen teams from UEFA's top six leagues. These twenty-four teams are drawn into six groups of four teams and play each other in a double round-robin system. The six group winners, six runners-up and the top four third placed teams proceed to the knockout stage, which culminates with a final match at a neutral European venue in early May. The winner of the European Cup qualifies automatically for the following season's competition, the UEFA Champions Trophy and the IFA Club World Championship.

There have been 69 finals, won by 25 different teams, of which 12 have won it more than once. Karelia Petrograd is the most successful club in the tournament's history, having won the competition a record eight teams, whilst Glasgow Rangers are the reigning champions, having beaten Sporting Lisboa on penalties in the 2020 final. Russian clubs have the highest number of victories (13 wins), followed by Great Britain (12 wins) and Germany (11 wins).

The 2020 UEFA Europan Cup Final was an association football match that took place on Saturday, 9 May 2020 between Sporting Lisboa of Portugal and Glasgow Rangers of Great Britain. The match was to decide thw winner of the 2019–20 season of the UEFA European Cup, Europe's premier football club tournament. Sporting Lisboa were making their sixth appearance in the competition's final, having won three and lost two, most recently winning the 2001 final. Glasgow Rangers were appearing in their third final, having won one and lost one, most recently losing in 1987.

The final was the first to be held at the Solna Arena in Stockholm and the first to be held in Sweden since 1994. Sporting Lisboa progressed to the knockout stages by winning their group, whilst Glasgow Rangers qualified as runners-up in their group. Sporting Lisboa defeated Liverpool, Slavia Prague and Hertha Berlin on the way to the final in the knockout stages, whilst Glasgow Rangers defeated Anderlecht, Barcelona, and Krasnya Moscow on penalties.

Rangers took the lead in the ninth minute of the game through Emil Forsberg, whilst Sporting equalised seven minutes later courtesy of a penalty from João Félix. Sporting then edged ahead in the third minute of extra time, with 18 year old Nuno Tavares scoring, whilst Rangers got their second at the 110th minute thanks to a free-kick goal from Kieran Trippier. The teams stayed level and the match went to a penalty shoot-out, which Rangers won 5–3. In doing so, they became the first British club to win the competition for twelve years since Leeds United in 2008.

As winners, Glasgow Rangers will take part in the 2020 UEFA Champions Trophy against Panathinaikos, the UEFA Cup winners. The victory also allows them to enter the 2020–21 tournament, having finished sixth in their domestic competition and therefore failed to qualify through the league, and also to be Europe's representative in the 2021 IFA Club World Championship.
