AHCOM - A Multiverse Assembly

Vacuity Institute RAV219MEL / Sub-Department of the “Vacuity Galactic and Universal Ministry” of the “United Multiverse Assembly” and the “Supreme Multiuniversal Templar Multiverse-Imperium Assembly”.

### Incoming transmission ###

To Supervisor Martin,

We have compiled a short chart of one of the smallest interdimensional and multiversal organization. Whereas the largest multiverse organizations boast members from the tens of quintillions to billions of googolplexians, this one has only about twenty million members.

Despite its size, the “Assembly of Historiographic Chroniclers of the Multiverse” or short – AHCOM, has one of the most diverse parallel universes short of the United Multiverse Assembly itself. Whereas many multiverse organizations revolve around getting as many members of the same make-up into their organization, AHCOM has no specific criteria for membership, although many of the universes are still Euro- and America centric.

Many AHCOM members are famous throughout the multiverse – think about the Brazil-West African universe, Oceanic universe or the New England-centric universe - just to mention a few.

AHCOM are led by the Great Administrator and his three Moderators. They are the voice of the authority, moderate disputes, intervene and santion members who fall out of line. All AHCOM members usually met in the Great Forum – their version of a parliament/congress etc. - to discuss current affairs, create new parallel universes, intervene in “non-awareness” universes and enact resolutions.

Welcoming to every person in the multiverse, whether their creed, race or politics AHCOM is one of the most open and welcoming interdimensional organizations.

It is one of the most fascinating multiversal organizations and we are proud to be part of it.

### Initiate Z – formerly of the Multiuniversal Templar Multiverse-Imperium Assembly###
### Note: Initiate Z has left our own organization for AHCOM, seeking to build his own path. We wish him good luck on his endeavours. – Supervisor Martin###

Autors Note: So this is me making a tribute to AH.com. A large part of my life for the last twelve years.

Time Travel in the Multiverse by Zauberfloete

80th Vacuity Bureau of the “Assembly of Historiographic Chroniclers of the Multiverse”.

### Incoming transmission ###

To Curator Z and M,

To get you both started in our orgamization, I have sent you a couple of flyers of the different methods of time-travel, self-inserts and how we create “controlled” universes or capsule universes in the general multiverse term. The first flyer before should be familiar to you, since this method of time travel is being used by every mutliversal organization. To curator Z you should be really comfortable with it, since I believe your previous employer used this method extensively.

Anyway this sort of time travel is the most common and basic one. We have other methods which can generate separate or similar results but I left it for the second package.

I hope you two are comfortable and settling in, in your new apartment.

Many Greetings,
Doctor T-R

The ISOT Copy Process by Zauberfloete

80th Vacuity Bureau of the “Assembly of Historiographic Chroniclers of the Multiverse”.

### Incoming transmission ###

To Curator Z and M,

The second flyer is how we conduct an ISOT-copy. An ISOT-copy is different from an ISOT. The genera ISOTs transfers an object, person, country, continent, planet or even solar systems to a different place – leaving in their place either a copy of themselves (or the original – it really depends on the perspective) or an empty space. ISOT-copy is different in that it always leave the “original” object in their environment and only transfers a copy of said object to another place-usually a virgin earth or solar system.

Curator M I heard that your previous multiversal employer has created tons of parallel universes using said method – perhaps you can share your experience with us in our next meeting?

Many Greetings,
Doctor T-R

How to create a Capsule Universe by Zauberfloete

80th Vacuity Bureau of the “Assembly of Historiographic Chroniclers of the Multiverse”.

### Incoming transmission ###

To Curator Z and M,

The last flyer its content should be very recognizable with you both. It shows how we and all the other multiversal organization create capsule universes. True we have our methods on how we create these “pocket universes” as some would call it, but I feel it would be better to start with something familiar.

Creating capsule universes (or CU) is the current trend these days it seems, although there some complaints from their Mirror Universe – True Universe as some of them call themselves – on how some of the CUs are being treated. Powerful multiverses, universes and even galaxies are creating these CUs to test some of their interdimensional stuffs – god knows what that entails. Also rich and powerful individuals have started to create their personal CUs much to the chagrin of the True Universes.

These CUs are quite small between 10 to 15 lightyears, but larger ones can also be created. Some of the large multiverse organizations are working on creating a galaxy-size CU.

So anyway I hope you both have settled in and with many Greetings,
Doctor T-R

To Supervisor Martin,

So I have been given the task to catalogue the late quadrillionaire Mr. Harlan inheritance. He made his wealth selling various cultural goods among various parts of the multiverse.
In his long live he’d built a vast collection of artifacts and treasures from large parts of the multiverse. Among his properties are multiple Capsule universes, which he would create with the approval of us or other multiverse organization.
It would take some time to work my way through all his collection and since Mr. Harlan has no relatives. All the Capsule Universes are to be given into the custody of their respective true universes – if they are multiverse aware – or their respective multiverse organization – if they are not aware.

So without further ado, I represent you the first of late Mr. Harlan capsule universes, he labeled it as – 2020 a Word with no world wars.

### Start of summary ###
  • Franz Ferdinand did not go to Sarajevo in 1914 and did not get assassinated. Following Emperor Franz Josephs death in 1916 Franz Ferdinand began to implement his reforms for the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It would take his whole reign but in the last years of his reign as Emperor Franz Ferdinand finally succeeded in transforming an ailing empire into a modern state where every (well almost every) minority group has a say in the state. Today the United Austrian Empire or the United States of Austria is a modern European state but still the wingman of Berlin.
  • Russia modernized in rapid pace and began to flex its muscles in oversea areas. It was through St. Petersburg (and London) machinations that the Ottoman Empire finally collapsed by 1919. It gained territories in eastern Anatolia up to what would now be called the State of Kurdistan and made Istanbul/Constantinople an independent Free City.
  • But the rapid pace of Russian industrialization and modernization only benefited the elite and resentment started to build among the poor and the working class. All of this bend up anger erupted in the Russian Revolution of 1930 where the Imperial family was overthrown, Poland, Finland and the Caucasus states gained their independence and the Russian people finally gained a representative democracy in the form of the Russian Republic.
  • European colonial empires benefited somewhat from a prolonged European influence. Populations are lower and prosperity higher in the respective countries. Although most African and Asian colonies haven’t shaken off all European influence and Europe still retains territories in Africa and the Americas.
  • Great power rivalry underwent three phases since the start of the 20th century. The first phase was from the 1900 until 1930 and was characterized by mostly direct confrontation between the powers (mostly in Africa, Asia but also in Europe). The Russian Revolution in 1930 but an end to the first phase and lead to a period of détente between the powers. By the time when their colonies started to gain independence (mostly in the late 1960s until early 1980s) the rivalry restarted, but direct confrontation was replaced by confrontation between their former colonies. Bush warfare and replacement wars became common and were supported by their respective “mother” countries, mostly with arms and supplies and sometimes with direct troop contribution.
  • The third phase of great power rivalry started in the early 2010s and is characterized by the addition of new non-European players. India began to assert itself in the Imperial Federation, which begins to unnerve policymakers in London, Ottowa, Canberra and Pretoria. Adding to London’s headache is that Canberra is increasingly taking over operations in Asia and the Pacific and that Pretoria still pursues its apartheid policies.
  • China is emerging from its lost century and is beginning to make sounds about Manchuria, Tibet and Sinkiang which hasn’t amused Moscow, New Delhi and Tokyo. Japan the only non-European power is worried that China, with whom it had a ten year war, is hell bent on revenge for all the sorrow Japanese troops had inflicted on China eighty years ago.
  • America is a great power, in fact it is the largest economic power of the world, but it hasn’t used its power outside of the Americas. America is noted as a benign, isolationist and liberal country. Other great powers often laughed at the small American military (they only maintain a 70.000 men large military – mostly in the navy), but behind their façade they fear American economic power – and Washington knows this.
  • That is not to say that America hasn’t experienced conflict. But by and large it has survived these and built a better union because of them. The American Labor movement is the largest in the world, its civil rights movement is a role model for the still oppressed colonial peoples, American women and minority rights groups (such as LGTBQs, ACLU) have achieved successes that are an inspiration for other similar groups in the world. And it is because of all of them that the average American enjoy free healthcare, free maternity leave, unemployment benefits, marriage rights, 38hour working week and other social and economic rights.
  • Technology level is about the same as OTL 2020. More advanced in medicines, biology and related tech sectors and less advanced in mobile and digital technology (late 2000s / early 2010s tech – flip phones are still a thing). The first moon landing happened in the early 1990s by Germany, quickly followed by the Brits and Russians. The Americans were the fourth power to land on the moon in the late 1990s.

I never asked, but in your "Legacy of Spring“ world, how did Russia annex Tannu Tuva from the Chinese Empire even though they had problems with uprisings as well?

To Supervisor Martin,

Sigh … Seems like I have to sort out some Capsule Universes that a bored teenage daughter of trillionaire has illegally created. It’s a good thing that the “mother”/”normal” universes of these Capsule Universes haven’t developed past the initial phase of the nuclear-space age yet since she could be in a lot more trouble. Anyway the “mother” universes have been catalogued away but now I will have to deal with these Capsule Universes. They will be stored at first but some will be destroyed and some sold to rich individuals or corporations.

I have supplied you with a dossier of an interesting Capsule Universe and a short summary since the Point of divergence.

### Start of summary ###

  • Kaiser Wilhelm II birth was more prolonged than OTL, which curiously doesn’t result in a crippled arm, but fundamentally changed his personality to a more gluttonous, needy and eccentric one. When Kaiser Wilhelm died in 1891 (three years later than OTL) Wilhelm succeeded his grandfather as Wilhelm II. He married very late (to Cecile of Mecklenburg-Schwerin who in OTL married his son) and has only two children – Princess Charlotte and Crown Prince Wilhelm.
  • The First World War happened at the same date but with no British involvement due to no German invasion of Belgium. The War lasted for nine years and with more casualties for all sides. The resulting peace was more a “Peace of Exhaustion” with no territorial exchanges besides the Central Powers keeping Poland, Romania, Greece, the Balkans and the Caucasus.
  • As a result of the Peace treaty revolution and civil war in France and Russia overthrew their governments, establishing communist states. Russia fell under the guise of Stalin while French empire reformed into the Federation of Worker Republics.
  • The Second World War started in 1941 and lasted until 1945. The war pitched the Central Powers (without the Ottoman Empire) against the France and the Soviet Union. Unlike OTL there was no Blitzkrieg but a rematch with deadlier trench warfare. The war ended with a stalemate and tens of millions dead.
  • The Treaty of Stockholm resulted in over seventy years of peace on the European continent. The treaty divided Europe and Africa into spheres of influences – Germany: Central Europe and the Balkans; France: North Africa and West Africa; Soviet Union: Eastern Europe; Italy: Libya; Neutrals: Iberian Peninsula, Benelux countries and Scandinavia (with lots of socialist influences). Britain again didn’t joined the war, quietly developed their colonies and dominions which resulted in the most prosperous international organization – the Commonwealth of Nations.
  • The Nationalist won the Chinese Civil War and repulsed the Japanese Invasion. Today the republic is a corrupt oligarchy.
  • The Ottoman Empire is a very rich nation, oil wealth as well as economic investment by the Germans, British and recently Chinese and Indians have cured the sick man of Europe. But the average Ottoman citizens have begun to clamor their government more forcefully to atone for the annihilation of the Christian population in Anatolia, Armenia, the Levant and Mesopotamia. Egypt is the sole Middle-Eastern nation with any significant Christian population.
  • With no foreign entanglements, early deaths of US progressives and no “New Deals” the serious social, racial and economic problems of the USA went mostly unanswered or were only passed decades later than OTL - Women right to vote were only granted in the 1930s, civil rights for African American in 1980s etc. No checks and balance on Wall Street and other big corporations resulted in many Stock market crashes and major bailouts. The Republican Party and the liberal wing of the Democratic Party fell more under the influence of big money than OTL. In short Americas Gilded Age never ended.
  • The resulting divisions in American politics exploded into the 2nd American Civil War when thugs of a Republican-aligned militia killed unarmed students and schoolchildren protesters at a rally for gun-control in Atlanta.
  • The American Civil War has generated the largest refugee crisis on the planet. Millions of Americans have crossed into Canada and Mexico. British, Indian and other Commonwealth troops have been massing at Canada’s southern border to control the flow of refugees streaming in from the US, while Mexico has recently closed their border. German, French and Soviet aid agencies in Mexico have decried this move.

Awesome job with this map!
I also have some questions for the lore of this world, like proxy wars, what America was like in the 60’s and beyond, if that’s ok. I’m a huge fan of history and the Cold War is my favorite topic.

The US in the sixties and the other decades in general had more tensions - economical, cultural, minority rights and every societal illness you name it! Without Roosevelt New Deal and with a longer gilded age all OTL tensions are amplified. For example the civil rights struggle was way more bloody - with most of the aggression coming from the far right white nationalist. A Tulsa-scale massacre and other progroms happened in this timeline sixties. All these tensions rose and fell through the decades, but no US administration couldn't and wouldn't implement enough reforms to cure the "American illness". And so it all boiled over in the early 2010s.

As for Proxy wars most of them were fought in Africa and south-east Asia. It involved mostly all the powers, but today the main parties are the German-led bloc and the communists.
