The image was too big, so I had to split it into three parts. What is the image size limit, anyway?

I've looked through the thread but I can't find any maps of a blank, Cold War-era Europe. Does anyone have such a map, preferably with black borders?

A Map I Made explaining the Foundations of the Holy Britannian Empire in the Anime Code Geass
British North America HBE.png

This and other maps are going to be featured in my CG fic: The Lion of Britannia (A Code Geass SI) explaining the birth of Britannia and fleshing out some of the inconsistencies in the lore and history behind the anime. The main divergence I'm using is that the American Revolution known here as Washington's rebellion is crushed by the forces of King George III. Napoleon who keeps true to his old Revolutionary ideals never crowns himself Emperor, and thus stays as First Consul of France making him a virtual dictator. Napoleon because the Revolutionaries here are somewhat more competent, actually has a navy and uses it to invade Britain (in otl the Directory let the French Royal Navy's ship rot in their harbors while gutting the officer corps). Britain's nobility, the loyalist population and army now flee to the Colonies establishing a government in exile like the other European powers (except for Russia). The British now shocked and traumatized by the loss of their homeland become more reactionary and royalist in reaction against the liberalism espoused by the French Revolution. This leads to the loss of powers for the Parliamentary system which was now seen as a feckless institution that was blamed for the loss of the British homeland. The once indolent prince George (otl's King George IV), wises up and becomes a competent administrator who devotes himself to securing Britannia as Prince regent with his father King George III's mental state deteriorating after the shocking loss of Great Britain. George IV manages to sire a legitimate son prince Richard who is the titular King Richard IV and Emperor Richard (Richard is the anglicized version of Ricardo) of Britannia. Richard is the one who formally establishes the Empire after his conquest of the sparsely populated French colony of Louisiana taking the title as Emperor Richard IV of the Holy Britannian Empire, counting all previous sovereign rulers of England/Britain as monarchs as well which emphasizes the political continuity of the Britannian Empire to the Kingdom of Great Britain as a bastion of the old world values with the Empire becoming an Absolute Monarchy.

500 k something for PNG, IIRC.
Very cool: so the Byzantine Empire survived and entered into some sort of personal union with the Russians? Reminds me a bit of an old map I did for Baxter's "Fate and the Firelance" ( https://www.deviantart.com/quantumbranching/art/Fate-and-the-Fire-Lance-180256311 ), but yours is much purtier.

Question: do I understand correctly that France rules all of North America north of Mexico, *Texas, and *Florida?

Elections in United Socialist States of America my 1914 project/idea thing (with no name yet if it ever will). * denotes a fully fictional person. USSA was established in 1945, with a year of provisional government before elections could be organised. In 1995 USSA was reformed into the American Socialist Federation. The ASF is pretty much a more prosperous, larger and free North Korea. I had already made a list of presidents for USSA and ASF, with footnotes. That post has partially been retconned and the electoral college numbers are almost definitely inaccurate. I can give explanations if needed/asked.

USA elections.png

Same timeline but US presidential elections after the start of the timeline. The States with White outlines in 1944 and 1968 elections are the states in which election was actually organised. Even if North Dakota in 44 was unable to actually contribute to the election. Hawaii and Alaska get statehood earlier because of increased immigration after WW1 and British Communist Revolution. Will probably make a list of presidents later. (Will mostly be the same OTL US Presidents and candidates with some differences.) And yes post-1970s US is very much dominated by Texas.

Edited to do some corrections.
Further Edit: in 1924 election Kentucky corrected as Republican instead of Democratic. Changes from OTL in 1928 and later are intentional.

I'm in love with the Persian and French borders on this map. They're spectacular!

Of course. They are their natural borders, after all.

Really feels like a map from a different time.

On that note, what's with the borders in the western hemisphere? The ones in the old world are super nice, but especially south of the US they're really, really lackluster.

Well, I just couldn't come up with anything interesting in that area.

That's strange. Shouldn't the full image fit in the post then? And yet the site didn't let me attach it.

Yes, that's what I was going for.
Hadn't seen this map before. Odd that even the little quote about the naming convention of the Roman Empire is similar, hah!

Yes, that is correct. The backstory I was going for was that the equivalent of the Seven Years War went very poorly for the British, causing them to lose their territories in North America, which also eventually led to their later fall.

I modified a map of a Sufficient Velocity world that I did not create :
GayaverseUpdated2jpg.jpg

It says "Map by Ato" because Ato created the original versionof the map, I just added some labels.

EDIT : Fixed a few typos.

Those exiles settling in Levant are Jewish I assume? Also surprised Britain hasn't got more exiles. Maybe Philippines or Japan could be places for exiles to go? Chinese and Russian Americans might or might not go back "home" depending on the situation in China and Russia. Also I would suppose some/many African-Americans would go to Liberia.

How about a bunch end up in Liberia, and Russia?
Liberia would be really cool. Russia I'm not sure would be an attractive destination in that many of the ethnic Russians or those from the Russian Empire wouldn't want to return (Poles, Jews, Lithuanians, etc) and then after the First World War happens (that isn't getting butterflied away) it would be very unstable or dangerous.

Yup, they are Jewish (and Arab as well.) The ASR is not a nice place for minority groups who don't assimilate. China runs into the same problem as Russia; where the 1910s and 20s are really unstable and there's little reason to return home instead of trying their luck in Canada or Latin America.

Initially Britain did, but they've mostly been resettled away into other colonies. The rationale for this is to an extent the UK was dependent on grain exports from America, and all of a sudden America is an ideologically hostile state with the very real possibility of threatening something as basic as food, so emigration is a better policy.
