So as we know Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was the Turkish prime minister between 14 March 2003 – 28 October 2007. He helped revitalize the Turkish economy following a financial crash in 2001 and with investments in infrastructure including roads, airports, and a high-speed train network helped pull the impoverished interior regions of the country out of poverty. He has been credited for putting Turkey towards the path of Joining the EU. Today Turkey is the first majority Muslim country whose economy has surpassed the trillion Dollar mark and the nation seen as the goal of Islamic Democracy.

He was assassinated exactly a week after the 2007 Turkish constitutional referendum, by a member of the Republican People's Party (CHP) who was against the referendum.

So WI the assassination attempt never happened or somehow Erdoğan survives the attempt. How would Turkey look like if he reigned longer?

There will be no consensus between Arab Nations to work together to quash Kurdish terrorism.

Erdogan being not assassinated by a Kurdish terrorist would meant the Kurds wouldn't turn that reviled today.

"Kurdish terrorism" was a Problem in the ME, and yes while Erdoğan Assasin was Kurdish, his motivation came from CHP propaganda at the time that the Prime minister wanted to get Turkey to ditch Secularism.

Erdoğan party the AKP only went with the Kurdish angle to finally crush the PKK. Today the conflict has died down, and the Kurds tend to vote AKP which is pretty ironic.

He had a bit of a history and some rumors say he kinda saw himself as the next Ataturk so maybe he would've turned out to be a problem over time.

And the Kurds being reviled depends on where and why. More than a few were happy he was gone, but feared they would be next, such as Iran.

The attacks on the Kurds were pretty awful and it did have an effect on the US elections. We got McCain who would go in and resolve matters through force. Without it, I don't think McCain woiuld've gotten the support he needed to beat New Hope Obama. Of course, McCain's tenure was like HW Bush's in terms of being one term as he delayed the recovery and Obama lost to Nina Turner, who became President 2012-2020.

No assassination would mean more focus on the economy which would let Obama win.
