What if the USA did not ban importation of “military style assault weapons” between 1989 and 2004?
We are primarily discussing how this ban affected civilian gun-owners.
Aren't Chinese imports banned under separate (and still in effect) legislation? Why, with all those rifles with bayonet lugs getting into the country, the carnage from blade wounds would have been immense
Realistically, Prices stay lower(M1 Carbines were selling for around $100 before the Ban, and quickly increased), and there will be many more SKS rifles from the various ex-Communist Countries and China on Gunshow Tables on and gunshop racks, along with more semiauto FALs from NATO countries and others like AUGS from Austria and Daewoo 'K' rifles from Korea
From certain Chinese organizations, yes.Aren't Chinese imports banned under separate (and still in effect) legislation?
IDK, Norinco was on thin ice after it tried to sell APCs and SAMs to Oakland gangs. Not to mention that there was already an arms embargo on China after Tiananmen Square.Without the other Ban, I doubt Clinton would have done the Import restriction

I feel bad for walking past literal barrels filled with those carbines, your pick, for $75, back in the '80s, considering they go for 10x that nowTFW I missed out $100 M1s. I paid $450 just to get a .22LR MP-15!
There are currently something like 500k unissued M1 carbines in S Korea which were paid for by US tax payers and can't be imported into the US, there are a mountain of unissued magazines too.TFW I missed out $100 M1s. I paid $450 just to get a .22LR MP-15!
