A concept for a mod for HOI IV

What's the situation in Japan and China?

We need a asian team, want to be hired for it?

@Ulyanovsk Spain will be a country in chaos, but able to recover without the civil war (not recover completely, but enought to be functional), to take part in WWII if it happens.

I believe that it would be interesting to replace the option that made all countries follow their historical focus tree with a option that would allow a peacefull resolution without WWII. If you select it then maybe the war does not happens in Europe; if you do then the war is inevitable, but always will happen in different circunstances.

A bit of a repost but for Spain, I did have this idea from earlier.

For the Spanish Falangists (National Populist) having more depth I suggested factionalism between the Spanish Fascists. Thus you've got Corporatist Fascists (Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera & Manuel Hedilla - Sub-ideology: National Corporatism), Radical National-Syndicalists (Ramiro Ledesma Ramos - Sub-ideology: National Syndicalism) and Ultra-Catholic National Legionaries (Onesimo Redondo - Sub-ideology: National-Legionary). The Falangists are sponsored by Mussolini and the Italian Fascist Government. The Falangists, for the most part, are taking advantage of the situation urging people to vote for them, for they promise to fix the Spanish economy and bring back order ending the chaos. They are either voted in power or they gain power through a coup by Military Officers affiliated with the Falange.

The Falangists seek to create a Fascist Republic, one resembling Mussolini's Republic (Rivera), one that is a Federalized National-Syndicalist Republic (Ledesma) that follows Georges Sorels Ideology, and one that is an Ultra-Christian Fascist State (Redondo) whose policies resembles Romanian Iron Guard or the Croatian Ustase. Of course the Corporatist Fascist Faction under Riveria represent the main interests of the Falange as well are a majority. But the Corporatist Fascists are being contested by Ledesma's National-Syndicalist Faction whose policies attract nationalist-sympathizing socialists, meanwhile Redondo's Ultra-Catholics are a fringe being regarded as crazy fanatics who seek to revive the Alhambra Decree of 1492 and the Inquisition.

However along with the Falangists, you also have an Authoritarian Nationalist Political Party led by Nationalist Military Officers called the National-Movement (Paternal Autocrat) led by Jose Sanjurjo and Francesco Franco. And while the National-Movement and the Falange sharing a somewhat similar Fascist ideology, their goals don't align where the National-Movement are more in favour of a Spanish State under a Authoritarian Military Government serving as a vanguard for King Alfonso XIII and the monarchy, while the Falangists are in favor of a Revolutionary Fascist Republic under a Jefe (Chief) similar to Mussolini's Fascist Republic. Unlike the Falangists who are populistic in their rhetoric and in favor of the common people and worker, the National-Movement tend to gain support from the higher-classes/upper-echelons of society and the aristocracy.

The National-Movement (Paternal Autocrat) resembles the Japanese Taisei Yokusankei - both similar in that they are a Ultra-Nationalist Parties that are really proxy parties for the military to serve in politics. They can gain power through either a Coup sponsored by King Alfonso XIII (The National-Movement are devout supporters of the Alfonsist Monarchy) or by a Terrorist Attack (Implied to be a False Flag orchestrated by the National-Movement) committed by either the Carlists, Falangists or the Socialists.

The Carlists (Reactionary) meanwhile seek to reclaim the Spanish Throne seeking to usurp Alfonso XIII and claim the throne under a Carlist King having a Spain under a Monarchy with Hardline Traditionalist policies. They have support from elements of the Spanish Military such as Emilio Mola. The Carlists as well have formed the Requetes Paramilitaries serving the interests of the Carlists. In terms of conflict, their goals are hindered by the Pro-Alfonsists and the National-Movement. They can only gain power through a coup, since the Alfonsists as well as King Alfonso XIII isn't interested in losing his throne.

Also for the Leftists, you have various revolutionary socialist groups seeking power, from the CNT-FAI Anarcho-Syndicalist/Anarcho-Communists (Revolutionary Socialist - Sub-ideology: Libertarian Socialist), PSOE Radical Socialists (Revolutionary Socialist), and the PCE Communists (Vanguardist Socialist). Despite having a similar socialist ideology they are at a disagreement, since one seeks to turn Spain into a Federalized Communes run by Unions (CNT-FAI), another seeking to create a Socialist Republic with an emphasis on a Workers Council Government (PSOE), and another with a Communist Vanguardist State (PCE). Of course this will never cause a Civil War as the various parties are too divided to even cooperate with one another let alone cause an armed uprising. The PCE and the PSOE can be elected, although for the CNT-FAI well for AI playing they have little to no chance unless its the player.

Meanwhile you have issues regarding regionalism with Catalonia, the Basque Region and Galicia seeking to split off of Spain. Thus they believe the chaos will lead to their secession. Although the secessionism can easily be suppressed even if one is playing a Democratic Spain, like allowing them limited autonomy or allowing the regions to freely practice their culture and their language and etc.

Very well I accept everything. If I get a team this will be used for the right wing Spanish forces.

Then again, I did read a lot about the Spanish Civil War and the causes of it.

Also in terms of purges, I am thinking of a way the Falangists/National-Movement/Carlists can remove opposition once they gain power without causing a civil war, since obviously the rivals won't sit down and let them purge. But I did think of it like this, perhaps you have military officers from rival political factions exiled to the colonies, similar to OTL where the Republican Government had exiled many Right-Wing Officers to the North African Colonies. For the Falangists, I'm also thinking about allowing for the incorporation of Socialists into the Falange with Ramiro Ledesma's National-Syndicalists seeking to unify Fascist and Socialist, although for Rivera, he could also do the same appeasing Ledesma and allowing for the incorporation of leftists.

The same for when the CNT-FAI/PSOE/PCE are elected to power since the Far-Right would obviously seek to remove the Socialists from power.

Also for China, the Warlord Period would proceed as usual. China is divided between the KMT, the Zhili Government and the Fengtian Government.

The Kuomintang rule most of Southern China, the Zhili Government rule Central China and Beijing, and the Fengtian Government rule all of Manchuria and Inner Mongolia.

As well there are other Cliques that exist, the Yunnan Clique, the Guangxi Clique, the Ma Clique, the Sichuan Clique, Shandong Clique, and the Shanxi Clique.

For the Kuomintang, they are a one-party republic although they also have the Communists within their regime, where all the ideologies with the Kuomintang divided into Factions.

Kuomintang Republic:
- Communist Party of China [Vanguardist Socialist] - Mao Zedong
- Communist Party of China [Revolutionary Socialist] - Chen Duxiu
- Kuomintang - Three Principles [Social Democrat]* - Wang Jingwei + Soong Qingling
- Kuomintang - Centrist [Liberal] - Sun Fo
- Kuomintang - Rightist [Conservative] - Hu Hanmin
- Kuomintang - New Life [Populist] - Lin Sen
- Whampoa Clique [Reactionary] - Chiang Kai-Shek
- Central Club Clique [Paternal Autocrat] - Chen Lifu + Chen Guofo
- Blue Shirt Society [National Populist] - Dai Li

Meanwhile the Zhili and Fengtian Cliques

Zhili Republic:
- Communist Party of China [Vanguardist Socialist]
- Communist Party of China [Revolutionary Socialist]
- Reformist Progressive Party [Social Democrat] - Carsun Chang
  • Public Interest Party [Sub-Ideology: Federalist Social Democrat] - Chen Jiongming
- Liberal-Republican Party of China [Liberal] - Hu Shih
  • Free China Party [Sub-Ideology: Market-Liberal] - Chen Lianbo
- Chinese Democratic-Republican Party [Conservative] - Wang Zhengting
- Young China Party [Populist] - Zeng Qi
- Imperial Qing Restorationist Party [Reactionary] - Puyi
- Zhili Clique [Paternal Autocrat]* - Wu Peifu + Cao Kun
- Chinese National Unity Party [National Populist] - Wang Kemin

Fengtian Republic
- Communist Party of China [Vanguardist Socialist]
- Communist Party of China [Revolutionary Socialist]
- Social People's Party [Social Democrat]
- Chinese People's Party [Liberal]
- Chinese Harmony Party [Conservative]
- Concordia Association - Moderates [Populist] - Zhang Yanqing
- Imperial Manchu Renaissance Party [Reactionary] - Zheng Xiaoxu
- Fengtian Clique [Paternal Autocrat]* - Zhang Zuolin + Zhang Xueliang
- Concordia Association - Radicals [National Populist] - Zhang Jinghui

* - Are in Charge.

In the case of China, the Kuomintang launch the Northern Expedition, the KMT make huge gains of territory, leaving a weakened Zhili Clique. However it ended abruptly due to factionalism between Right-Wing and Left-Wing Factions within the KMT refusing further cooperation in the Northern Expedition due to ideological differences.

For Japan here's what I thought of:

- Nihon Kyōsan-tō (Communist Party) [Vanguardist Socialist]
- Nihon Rōdōtō (Workers Party) [Revolutionary Socialist]
- Shakai Taishūtō [Social Democrat]
- Rikken Minseitō [Liberal]
- Rikken Seiyūkai [Conservative]
- Showakai [Populist]
  • Taisei Yokusankei - Constitutionalists [Sub-Ideology: Authoritarian Democracy]
- Kodoha [Reactionary]
  • Taisei Yokusankai - Traditionalists
- Toseiha [Paternal Autocrat]
  • Taisei Yokusankai - Militarists
- Kokumin Domei [National Populist]
  • Yuzonsha [Sub-Ideology: Pan-Asian Ultranationalism]
  • Tohokai [Sub-Ideology: National Legionary]
  • Taisei Yokusankai - Radicals [Sub-Ideology: National Corporatist]

Notes:
The Taisei Yokusankei can form if the Toseiha Military Faction is dominant in the IJA having purged the Kodoha Military Faction. The Taisei Yokusankei is a Nationalist Political Party that really serves as a puppet party/political proxy for the Toseiha to serve in politics.

Japan is faced with factionalism within the Japanese Military, as well Japanese Democracy is at risk of collapsing and falling under a Military Dictatorship where the Military along with factionalism is growing too powerful for the civilian government to control. As well there is a growing Ultranationalism in Japan with Radical Far-right parties such Kokumin Domei, Yuzonsha and the Tohokai attracting supporters within the Japanese Military. Along with rising Militarism and Ultranationalism in Japan, Japan also has Imperialist ambitions in China.

The Kodoha are a cadre of Young Japanese Military Officers who seek to create a Militarist, Traditionalist and an ideal "Pre-Westernized" Japan ruled by the IJA.

A first sketch of the world in 1936. "Free" Morroco was the only concession that France made to Germany after the end of the war. AH is now the united states of greater Austria, it can break into multiple states if it is stressed enought. Serbia is a austrian-bulgarian puppet. What do you think?

Nestor Makhno and the Revolutionary Insurrectionary Army of Ukraine.
1921._%D0%9D%D0%B5%D1%81%D1%82%D0%BE%D1%80_%D0%9C%D0%B0%D1%85%D0%BD%D0%BE_%D0%B2_%D0%BB%D0%B0%D0%B3%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B5_%D0%B4%D0%BB%D1%8F_%D0%BF%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B5%D0%BC%D0%B5%D1%89%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%BD%D1%8B%D1%85_%D0%BB%D0%B8%D1%86_%D0%B2_%D0%A0%D1%83%D0%BC%D1%8B%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%B8.jpg

In 1917 with the abdication of the Tsar, the rise of the Bolsheviks and the ensuing Russian Civil War, Makhno an Anarcho-Communist Revolutionary saw this as an opportunity to create his Anarchist Utopia. During the Civil War, there were various Anarchist Militia Groups. Some of these groups claimed allegiance for an Independent Ukraine, but most of them claimed no allegiance to the Bolsheviks or the Whites. Of all the successful groups claiming allegiance to neither, it was lead by Nestor Makhno.

Ukraine in 1917 had become independent as the Ukrainian People's Republic. The UPR would, however, be faced with the resulting Russian Civil War where Bolsheviks and White Forces engaged in Battle. The UPR not wanting a Communist Takeover and given independence by Russia had joined on behalf of the legitimate White Russian Armies, Makhno had opposed the UPR Government denouncing them as Reactionary.

Makhno formed the Revolutionary Insurrectionary Army of Ukraine with weaponry obtained from the Central Powers. The Black Army was not like most Anarchist Militias, it was organized in conventional lines functioning like an actual army. It was the most organized of all the Anarchist Militias possessing infantry, cavalry and an artillery corps where with artillery there was artillery attached to every infantry unit. For the most part, Makhno's efforts were mostly against the UPR and the White Russian forces in Ukraine, however, with the split from the Bolsheviks, the Bolsheviks would enter the fray with Anarchist Forces engaging both UPR, White and Red.

Makhno had entered an alliance with the Bolshevik Reds, but despite socialist and communist ideology being a unifying factor for those parties, this alliance was short-lived as Lenin denounced Makhno's Anarchism citing that Anarchism would weaken the Revolution against the Reactionaries. Anarchism was considered an illegitimate organization by Lenin, where it saw the mass arrest and detention of Anarchists by the Bolsheviks. Makhno seeing this denounced Lenin's Bolsheviks as Authoritarian Strongmen no better than the Reactionaries abusing the Revolution for their own end. Along with the arrest of Anarchists within Bolshevik Territory, the Bolsheviks began atrocities against Anarchists or followers loyal to Makhno's Black Army which lead to the deaths of thousands of peasants and villagers.

Despite the many successes of the Black Army, what they lacked was the means of properly maintaining their army. The Black Army lacked industrial means of manufacturing a large number of arms and ammunition. Makhno's Army relied on scavenging weaponry and ammunition from enemy forces, as well as receiving food and other supplies from the civilian population. The Makhnovists did exceptionally well and had thrived in their territory warding off the UPR, White and Bolshevik Armies. It wasn't until the German Intervention joining on behalf of the newly-independent UPR and the White Russians that all of that changed. The German Intervention saw the Anarchist Forces crushed swiftly.

The Black Armies having faced defeat along with the Bolshevik Red Army in 1922 following a joint effort by a Ukrainian-German Force, saw the remains of the Black Army under Makhno had went into hiding. The Black Army despite their defeat are still waging a Guerilla War in the countryside against the Ukrainian and later German Forces in Ukraine. Along with the ongoing insurgency against the German Forces, in the 1930s, the Black Army having entered conflict with the Far-Right Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists and their Ukrainian Insurgent Armies along with the remnants of the Communist Bolshevik Armies undergoing armed skirmishes.

Makhno seeks to continue the Anarchist Revolution, where his goal is to run Ukraine as an Anarchist Free Territory divided into Communes managed by Unions thus declaring the Ukrainian Free Territories. Although if Makhno succeeds, would Makhno's Anarchist Dream hold on?

So, here a concept for Italy.

Italy will be on some ways this mod nazi Germany. Since the italians lost the war the government collapsed and Mussolini rise was not made of compromise, but of a complete take over of the system by the fascists. Many things that were delayed OTL like the land reform got passed and the fascist system is even more totalitarian, but someway efficient, than OTL. Different from Germany and most european countries, at least if this concept sticks, Italy will only have one route to be followed with small changes. Mussolini wants the lands from the Ottoman Empire, the United States of Greater Austria, France and more colonies in Africa and the player will have to pick a order to expand, or to choose a side and try to make him attack your enemy first. As @AZNMAGICMAN suggested to me, Mussolini will make a great use of partisans, but not only the fascist ones but basically any group who can desistabilize Great Austria (putting the fascists first, yes). The player will be able to send weapons and equipment through national decisions and focuses giving to austria combat maluses (minus planning since the communications are being bombed, minus industrial capacity since the factories are being bombed, minus attack on mountains since they are filled with insurgents, etc).

A French or british player can try to win over Mussolini recognizing his claims on AH (the british most likely won't, a France, and especially a fascist France will, and a fascist france can ally italy). A militarist led Germany might bribe Italy to go to war for french savoy, nice, Corsega, Tunisia and other african colonies, since Italy failed to take austrian territory before, maybe it is time to change the target?

Austria will always be attacked by italy at some point, since they are where most of the italian claims are and austria starts with it's own bloc and it is not really expansionist (unless the player wants), they just finished stabilizing their realm and got their own sphere of influence, so their strategy is to hold own.

What do you think?

How about another different Mod:

The Economic Policy Mod-
Make it so that every choice has a corresponding % of total factories as military.
Ex. Total Mobilization allows for 80% of total factories as military. War Economy allows for 60% of total etc.

It is a already existing mod?

I can sleep, so here is a first sketch for Germany starting position.

The militarist fiasco.

Basically Germany is since 1932 under the chancellorship of Hugenberg, he was chosen since the ambitious and far right inclined son of the Kaiser, Crown prince Wilhelm, cannot be appointed and Hugenberg seemed to be a good compromise candidate. Hugenberg chancellorship had been marked by scandal after scandal, either from his clique corruption dealings or overal poor policies. Germany had became increasingly isolated due his hawkish behaviour for no gain while inflation is rising on the last year's due the increased military spending and his protectionist economic policies.
When Germany starts its military is the best on the world and the second largest, just behind Russia, but there is a considerable economic debuff due the inflation and the diplomatic isolation. Hugenberg therm is coming to a end so his tree will be called "Damage control", with three ways to be followed to decrease part of the damage. You can either follow a diplomatic way, strengthen the relationships with your sphere allies and neutral countries like Sweden, Switzerland and the Netherlands; you can go for a responsible economic policy by decreasing the military expending and removing some of the trade barriers; or you can try to save your image and pass some populist measures to try to win over the people, while travelling through Germany to regain some popularity.

What do you think?

Also what about a French Civil War? Where you can have France split between a Socialist North and a Conservative South. Of course it's a totally avoidable conflict where it can happen if the player screws up badly and it can only happen 2 out of 10 times for if the AI screws up badly.

That and Southern France is lead by Petain and DeGaulle under a Military Government. The South would consist of both the Moderate Liberals, Conservatives and Radical Far-Right:
  • Fascists under Marcel Bucard and Jacques Doriot can rise up and overthrow the Junta
  • Action Francaise Reactionaries would attempt to revive the Monarchy and implement Integralism
  • The Croix-de-Feu can take over, implement Integralism and turn France into an Authoritarian Catholic Republic, where the Croix-de-Feu are essentially a Republican Action Francaise, although the Croix-de-Feu are noted to be Populistic and more popular with War Veterans.
  • The Liberals and Conservatives can restore French Democracy.
  • However the Military can hold on to its power after the war ends becoming an Authoritarian Republic under the Military.
The Socialists would be a loose Alliance of Communists, Revolutionary Socialists, Radical Democratic Socialists, Syndicalists/Trade Unionist Socialists, and Anarchists. As well most of France's Industrial Lands are ruled by the Socialists.

I want to overrule this with at the most a bloody coup, since France wouldn't pose any form of menace for Germany if it falls into civil war. Can you post about your awesome ideas of the USA nationalists?

For the US, they have numerous National Populist Parties that are split.
  • Greater America Party [Leaders: Lawrence Dennis + Charles A. Willoughby + Hanford McNider]
  • Nationalist Party of America [Leaders: Gerald LK Smith + Art J. Smith + Ezra Pound]
  • American Renaissance Party [Leaders: George van Horne Moseley + George W. Christians + George E. Deatherage + William Dudley Pelley]
The Greater America Party [GAP] is America's main Fascist Party inspired by Mussolini's Ideology. They are popular with Far-Right US Military Officers, War Veterans and Nationalist Politicians with their leaders having served or currently serving in the US military. The GAP are populistic and biggest Fascist Party in America even having endorsements from famous people such as Henry Ford and Charles Lindbergh. The GAP believe in creating a new Society believing that America should be a Republic without a Democracy. They are prominent in the Northern US. As well are popular garnering 100,000 followers.

The Nationalist Party of America [NAPA] are a Far-Right Nationalist Party that follows a similar Fascist Corporatist Doctrine as he GAP but with an emphasis on combining Futurism and Conservatism with some influences of Corporatist National-Syndicalism similar to the Spanish Falangists under Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera. They don't believe in racial persecution instead uniting America regardless of Skin Colour or Religious Creed. In terms of their believes they are similar to the GAP also somewhat popular among the US Military Personnel, although they are largely run by a mostly civilian leadership with Politician Gerald LK Smith and Artist Ezra Pound, however Art J. Smith an ex-military officer is one of the leaders of the NAPA. They are also relatively popular garnering 10,000. The NAPA and GAP both cooperate and there is a possibility that the larger GAP may absorb them, although NAPA wants to stay independent.

The American Renaissance Party [ARP] is a White Supremacist Party popular with Ku Klux Klansmen and various White Supremacists. They believe in racial eugenics trying to create a super race of white Americans which includes sterilization of those deemed undesirable, as well they believe in a crazed White Supremacist Christian Ideology of Christian Identity. They are regarded as crazy and delusional by most of the American population not a part of the Klan. However not all ARP are followers of Racial Eugenics:
  • You've got a "Moderate" Faction who believe that Jim Crow is enough as the way it is in the South believing that Eugenics is too far and against God [Since Eugenics also means changing Genetics and is essentially seen as playing God - Which they see as Anti-Christ]. They are a large faction of the ARP making up 1/5 of the ARP.
  • You've got a "Seperationist" Faction who don't believe in eugenics and instead wish to increase by a higher notch Segregation by creating an equivalent of South African Apartheid forcing the African-American Population to live in Slums even worse than before.
  • You've got the small "Silver" Faction led by William Dudley Pelley, unlike the rest of the ARP who are White Supremacists and are Southerners, Pelley is a Northerner more focused on religion. Pelley's "Silver" Faction who are mostly Northerners believe in Religion, and see religion as more of a problem then race where the "Silvers" are willing to give African-Americans equal status claiming that they are equal so long as they're Christian, however, their policies would mean giving up racial persecution and exchanging it for religious tyranny where the Jewish people would be persecuted instead of African-Amercians.
With all those factions, nobody not even Pelley is redeemable where in giving African-Americans rights if they are Christian, he instead persecutes another group of minorities. The ARP are prominent in the Southern US.

The GAP and the NAPA can be elected via a Coalition - The American Front. Meanwhile the ARP have no chance of getting elected since the Klan (Who consist of the ARP's popular support) and the various White Supremacist Groups associated with the Klan by the 1930s are a fading/declining, whose fall was due to the many controversies of fraud and sex scandals which came to light in the late 1920s.
