Mega France and the ruins of Mega Russia/USSR

France in 2009.

France in dark green and the European Union in light green, 2009, after the Baltic States joined all at once. The Eurasian Summit of 2005, which Russia's leaders had hoped would restore the prestige and glory held in Soviet times, failed spectacularly, as important members like Ukraine and Caucasia did not attend. The Eurasian Commonwealth, which existed for only 6 years, subsequently ceased to exist. Britain, out of spite, refuses to join the "French Empire", and Finland sided with the Nordic Council and their sacred neutrality. Bulgaria and Belarus maintain close ties with Russia, while Georgia and Ukraine are actively trying to join the EU but are being blocked by France due to lack of democratic institutions.

Here's a WIP:

It's a stupid idea, but essentially a successful Albany Plan. Admittedly, the dates of Pres-Gens are random but I try to follow the idea of "people Congress wouldn't like get in for less time"

Really cool idea! I also like the portraits you use, it gives this a very unique and 18th Century British-esque aesthetic. Two questions; do the president-generals belong to political parties and where’s Alexander Hamilton's portrait?

Sometime ago on the Map Thread I said I would create an icon that represents Desert. After sometime, I finally did it. With a little alternate one as well showing my approval for Utah/Deseret maps.

Oh, uh... unfortunately, those aren't the final portraits. I'm using the Canadian Governor-Generals wikipedia page, and because I can't be arsed to edit actual articles, I'm inspect-elementing a preexisting one. The pictures have to be edited in.
Officially, the President-Generals are nonpartisan, but they tend to express partisan beliefs before entering office.

Barcelona alternate history.png

The Barcelona Bombings led to the end of the Basque Socialist Republic. After 1933, the Republic of Spain and the Basque Socialist Republic declared an armistice. However, in 1955 the Basque government instigated a terrorist attack in Barcelona which killed over 100 people. A four month long investigation concluded that the attack was done by the Basque Socialist Republic. A war was declared on 25 February 1956. The war concluded in 1958 with the dismantlement of the Basque state and its entrance into the Republic of Spain.
