(Map has come in two parts, done by @Blacklister3000 and me.)

Loving the attention paid to South America! I suggest the Porteños (on both sides of Río de la Plata) to have a distinct color from the rest of Argentina, as well as the Litoral up to Corrientes and Misiones to have their own color too. All of that so as to have the Argentinian Celeste color for the Gaucho-influenced region.

I drew South America according to the dominant dialects of Spanish and Portuguese over there

I don't see the difference with our future mega corp America modern America?

Well in the 1980s, shows like Dallas and Dynasty, celebrations of wealth and excess, were the heralds of the new age. Optimism and materialism were dominant forces.

On the other hand, you have the seedy underbelly of the age, as crime runs rampant (it started declining in the 1990s) and AIDS and Crack percolate through communities.

You also have the start of the internet!

--

You should look into Cyberpunk, it's basically a 1980s Retrofuture at this point, and it explores the hopes and fears of that era.

Your pixel art is freaking beautiful and the art for each structure is very good especially where you may leave out the outline. The thing I might say is see if you can thin the borders, cause the big blocky borders sort of clash with the detail of the structures. Though admittedly that is a lot of work, and its not the biggest issue.

That's a great point--if I had planned this better I'd probably have used the Mbam or VTbam, but I suppose it's too late now. Maybe I'll come back to redo it in those formats some day :p

Not a map (yet), but certainly a WIP. I felt that it would be fun to look at the production process behind my maps, with this being stage 1: putting an idea down on paper (or an equivalent digital format)

WIP of the Revanchist, a map set in the 2030s, when a Russian militarist faction provokes a war against an atrophied NATO, and the Iran-KSA tensions reach a fever pitch. My map shows theaters, war aims, and insurgent movements. I'm going for a sort of Tom Clancy feel.

It is a period of bloody religious wars. Germany is shredded into pieces by various princes, city states and sects fighting each other. Emperor became empty title long ago, king of France is first among christian rulers of Europe, thanks to the inventions of a brilliant Leonardo da Vinci and also thanks to his ally, Ottoman sultan. By the use of ancient secrets, Grand Turk crushed his chief enemies in west as in east and his empire is enjoying peace and stability.
Habsburgs were defeated but not destroyed. They are conquering new world of unimaginable treasures and ancient gods in the name of Christ and only true catholic church. They will return one day, however, to take back Madrid, take back Rome, and Vienna and Jerusalem! One day, when their dragons grow enough to cross the ocean...
And while rulers fight and plot, shadows are growing and from the north colder and colder winds blow. Winter is coming...

Map 1.png

This is my first real WIP map. I got the template thread out of the 1914 Map. I plan on working on it a lot more. I diverged a bit from the Universal Color scheme as the nations I made are so different, that they'd be semi unrecognizable with OTL. My inspirations is obviously Decades of Darkness, though I only have it for Germany and Russia, while the rest are based on my ideas, which come from a number of influences I can't name right now. Its an ASB map, obviously.

The Hispanic Nations are outlined in purple because they're in a Dominion type situation with Spain. Each are all independent Kingdoms(13, for now, in total) with Trastamaran monarchs, and as such they still hold very close relations with Spain and each other in a type of NATO/EU/Commonwealth thingy. I plan on giving Mexico a purple outline as well. The Philippines, called the Maribelas, or Maribelinas( Still working on name), are also one of these kingdoms, though I have yet to color them in. The Philippines* also has a bit more territory, but I have also yet to color that in. And yes, Brazil, split into two, is a Hispanic nation in this world.

South Africa and Australia/New Zealand(Collectively called New Holland) are independent nations that were Dutch, and later German colonies, though they're still close to Germany, similar to how the Hispanic Nations are close to Spain. New Holland is also green in this universe, so lots of forests of varying types. Much higher population than OTL. They also both have a demographic similar to OTL Peru/Bolivia and Mexico, respectively. So both are mostly Mixed Race, Indigenous, with varying amounts of people pure European ancestry, but not much compared to the US.

Italy never united in this world, and France was defeated for good in the mid to late 19th century, so they wouldn't participate in the Conquest of Africa. Leaving only Spain, Germany, and Britain. I plan on changing the borders(no idea to what though),but the general idea is that Britain only has the North East, minus Egypt and Sudan, while Germany has the West, and sort of has the South through South Africa. Spain has the North West. Although, I am interested in the idea of having various West African States remain independent, similar to Thailand or Iran. Ethiopia won't though.

Honestly, I was going through several ideas when making this, so it doesn't represent any particular period, yet. But, I am hovering towards setting it before the Anglo-German War(1919-1923), which will make the map, when completed, be a bit more Pink in Asia.

Yeah, the British don't and won't have much fun in this world. They don't even have the largest navy in the world, and the rate the Germans are building, they are on the path to quickly becoming third. And it doesn't help that the current first and third largest navies on the planet are closely allied.

German and hispanic "Commonwealth"? Interesting.
Mexico is without ties to its former homeland?
And what is that red "greater Syria"?
How is doing Russia and what its doing to that poor Anatolia?
So Germany is no. 1. world power?
