Hurricane Dorian is a hundred miles from me right now, so I have been trying to relax by making some designs. Here's my take on a US Space Force logo for a setting taking place a half-century after a comet impact makes a general mess of things:

I am, from mapmaking and AH. But this isn’t either of those things, not really, and doesn’t cut into my writing; I did it because I couldn’t write at the time, due to a pounding headache by way of a pinched nerve. This requires a lot less focus and energy, did it over a few hours.

Just a quick idea.
Due to a harsher occupation of Germany during WW2 the resistance movements are stronger and more widespread across the continent.

Above: Irish actor Robert Sheehan as he appeared in promotional material for the 2018 film "Yellow Submarine", directed by Daniel Yates. Often described as a 'reinterpretation' of the original 1969 animated film of the same name, the plot follows the Originals, a struggling liverpudlian rock group, as they are recruited by Captain Freddie (played by Saoirse Ronan), granddaughter of the original Lord Admiral, to defend the psychedelic Pepperland from a returning army of Blue Meanies. The Originals, meant as an emulation of the Beatles, are composed of guitarist Winston (Josh Bolt), bassist Percy (Craig Roberts), backing guitarist Harri (Viveik Kalra) and drummer Richie (Sheehan). The film also stars Andy Nyman as the Chief Meanie, Sean Gilder as Max and Joel Fry as the voice of Jeremy. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr play uncredited roles as members of the Pepperland Orchestra.

Above: production photos of one of the masks used for the Blue Meanies. The film used a mixture of both practical and special effects, inspired by the positive response in part to the use of the former in the third Star Wars trilogy. Most notable were the redesigns of the films antagonists, the Blue Meanies, which received some flak from critics for their rather unsettling appearance, culminating in a child having to be comforted when they were sent into hysterics by a costumed actor attending the premier at the Foundation for Art and Creative Technology. While the original film incorporated the Beatles and their music in a literal sense, Yates chose to remove that element from the story, instead of having the film be a jukebox musical, never making any literal mention of the Beatles or otherwise and choosing to exist within it's own narrative.

"Hello, and welcome to Revolutions."

"Episode 10.12 ‘Southern Explosion and the Watts Rebellion."

"Before we start today's episode, let me just make a little correction on last week’s episode that some listeners very kindly pointed out to me. Last time, I said that President Nixon tacitly approved of Governor Wallace’s decision to crack down on the Selma March, but this seems to have been an oversight on my part. Actually, it seems the approval was very much not there... like at all. I don’t know how I made that mistake. Nixon was certainly a racist and did not like the aims of the march, but if nothing else he thought the repression would make America look terrible internationally. My bad. Now, on to the episode..."

(Please ignore all the trampled butterflies, I liked the idea, and yes, transcribing a Mike Duncan ad plug was a tad annoying ;))

The most accurate thing I've ever seen in a graphic lmao

This is so fucking cool. A) I'm listening to Revolutions at this very moment and B) had the same idea to do as an update for my Election Game over on shared Worlds.

10/10 content

Thanks man, I’ve seen a lot of people on like Kaiserreich posting graphics of YouTube history videos in alternate timelines and I thought it’d be pretty cool to make a mock Revolutions series - I’d love to see your take on one!

The US fails to get any of Korea, so they pour resources into China instead. As a result, a much bloodier Chinese War is fought (the Third Chinese Civil War).

The ceasefire (technically not a peace treaty, the two Chinas are still officially at war) set the Yangtze river as the border between. Unfortunately, this means neither China can use the river for power generation. The PRC still annexes Tibet after the Civil War ends (it causes a crisis where it is decided not to intervene, avoided another Chinese War).

The ROC and Japan are much closer, and though most nations recognize the ROC as the "sole government of China", many countries now have a working relationship with the PRC for economic reasons.

New license plate from Natimik, the Cree-speaking province of New Columbia. The new screened digits have proven overwhelmingly unpopular.

The province is split between individual-title counties and collective-title co-operatives, helpfully indicated by a little sticker. Claimants to Natimik's enabling treaty (who may reside in either) are Officially Native and don't pay fuel taxes, as long as the gas came out of a domestic refinery. Score!

An official and improved revision of the political structure of the Worker's Commune of Escrot. If you follow my timeline, Ball of Confusion, you would know that the program used to create the latest version of the political structure of the Concordian Confederation was draw.io. This program was significantly easier to use than paint.net!

I think Shandong is the only one I don't like. IMO a compromise KMT/PRC flag doesn't make sense, and I'm not a fan of how it's set up (and the white doesn't contrast well with the gold). Also, the gold emblem is too complex. I understand that it's the logo of Shandong University, but I would try to simplify it - maybe just have the three mountains (for people in Shandong, it would still be recognizable).

Okay maybe there's one more thing I don't like.... why why why is Sichuan using Katakana??? Even in a blended script system, I think Chinese folk after ww2 would die before using Japanese characters.
