What do you think would happen if a party with a pretty general and normal program, not too different from any modern center-left or center-right party won the elections in a country like Poland, Hungary, Romania, or the Czech Republic, then the new Prime Minister and the people with the most power in the party slowly start to reveal that they are very into the occult and magic (similar to Hitler and Himmler though not necessarily being far-rightist and/or Nazis).
They begin a program to acquire rumored powerful relics like the Spear of Destiny and the Holy Grail, establish a division of people to research Soul Magic and what happens after death (kinda like the Department of Mysteries in Harry Potter), start to do experiments on dying patiens and cadavers who died not long ago, and start a magic and parapsychology research division not too different from the CIA's previous MKULTRA project.
They also establish very good relations with the Catholic Church and Vatican exorcists and interview them on their experiences with demonic possession, they question priests about holy relics and what kind of powers these relics showed and ask for information about what kind of "White Magic" was performed by people in the Middle Ages and to what degree the Church allowed it.
As time passes the party would start to reveal this side of it more and more aside from dealing with mundane things.
