August 5, 1962: Demonstrations began to sprawl out on the streets of Manila to demand complete exit of the Philippines from the GEACPS. Protesters began to carry the portraits of famous Philippine national heroes of Jose Rizal and Andres Bonifacio as they chanted about comparing the treatment of the Japanese to the Spaniards.
Said protestors also have a pro-American lean as they wave US flags and declare their wish for an independent Philippines to align with the OFN as well.

July 16, 1962: The Militarists of Goering continue their offensive in the south, aiming to deliver a blow to the Loyalists, but face problems when Heydrich's SS begins its own offensive in East Prussia. This brings a temporary stalemate in Eastern Germany.

July 17, 1962: The offensive by Goering against Bormann along with Heydrich's offensive leaves the Wehrstaat's Western Front open as pro-Speer elements of the Wehrmacht and student militias spearhead a large-scale offensive which makes the war in Western Germany one which Speer is winning.

August 2, 1962: upon further investigation by the tokkeitai, however, the newspaper leaks were fake, which was started by IJA.

August 7, 1962: Upon further further investigation, the leaks claimed to have been faked by the IJA weren’t faked.

(OOC: please do not turn tno into a takagi fanwank or Wallace fanwank or whatever the heck)

August 8, 1962: The dispute between the IJA and the IJN gives Kido, who promises to empower the civilian government and has few ties with the IJA or IJN, a boost politically.

July 29, 1962: Balbo who is an Ardent Fascist despite his moderate stance is unwilling to see the Regime go, thus he convinces Ciano give the Fascist ideology another chance to work. The reason being, the Monarchy still exists and that the Monarchists are preventing Fascism from flourishing as it should. Thus Balbo claims the reason for Fascism not working is because of the Monarchy. After much talking, Ciano decides grant Balbo's wishes to see what happens.

Originally Balbo used to be associated with Ciano, but the latter's growing disdain for Fascism had caused a rift in relations politically. Although they are still close friends despite their split in politics. The Verona Conference would however force Balbo and Ciano to work together.

The Fascist Hardliner Scorza meanwhile is in contact with the Fascist Moderate Balbo. That being said, both Balbo and Scorza think of plans of removing the Monarchy and paving the way for a Fascist Republic. Ciano as well would be filled in, where he too is working to appeal the many Fascists still in his cabinet alongside Balbo.

August 7, 1962: Upon further further investigation, the leaks claimed to have been faked by the IJA weren’t faked.

August 9, 1962: Disputes in the news and in public discourse over whether the leaks were or were not faked by the Imperial Japanese Army are commonplace. Regardless, Takagi's standing in the eyes of the public has taken a downward turn and it is increasingly unlikely he will make it out of this power struggle with any real authority.

August 12, 1962: Recent polls taken across the continental United States show a further dip in approval ratings for incumbent President Richard Nixon. Calls for impeachment occur, but it will take much more damning evidence against the President for proceedings to actually occur in the House of Representatives.

(OOC: You folks really love accelerating the timeframe of many events in game, don't you? I only killed off Hitler in accordance with plans for the collab, therefore making me guilty of this myself.

And on another note, I added that first event in this post because the whole thing there was reaching Pythonesque levels of comedy in my mind.)

July 31, 1962: George Wallace debates William F. Buckley on Firing Line. The two clash, with Buckley poking at Wallace’s pretensions of being a man of the people. Wallace is also confronted over his segregationist rhetoric. In addition, the Alabama rally causes some to question Wallace's character as a possible leader.

July 31, 1962: Seeing the reaction from Monarchists, the leaders Ciano, Balbo and Scorza back down. Even Hardliner Scorza is unwilling to see Italy fall into a Civil War like it's neighbor Germany.

Although they plan a compromise with Monarchists. Having Fascist Italy become a Fascist Republic with a Monarchy. Thus they give the Fascist Government a Republican structure to appeal to Fascists, all while letting the Monarchist Aristocracy and the King to maintain their status.

August 10, 1962: The Turkish intelligence network contacts one Gamel Abdel Nasser and his followers in Egypt with Turkey offering to provide them covert aid in overthrowing King Farouk's rule in Egypt.

August 9, 1962: Due to the German Civil War and the aftermath of the Franco-Burgundian War, the remaining French State approaches Fascist Italy to join for they realize their old German overlords have collapsed into civil war. Fascist Italy is skeptical, but begins to cooperate with the former German puppet state. Many French Fascists rejoice at leaving Germany and joining Fascist Italy seeing its their chance at rebuilding France's lost glory.

  • Parti Populaire Francaise - Founded by Ex-Communists led by Jacques Doriot. The Party believed that collaboration with Germany would bring glory for France, where a strong France would arise and work with Nazi Germany. However they would be wrong for Germany would instead keep France a weak rump state. They were once a very popular far-right party prior to 1939, but after the war the PPF would become unpopular due to their promises of collaboration only leading to France to become a weakened nation instead of the glorious fascist state they promised to bring about.
  • Parti Franciste - Founded by Marcel Bucard - A Fascist Party modelled off of Italian Fascism. They are vocally a Pro-Fascist Italy Party seeking to leave Germany and join Italy, for Germany only cares about keeping France down. Due to the unpopularity of the PPF being seen as German puppets leading a weakened Puppet France, many French Fascists have left the PPF, instead opting to support the Pro-Italian Francistes.
  • National Collectivist Party/National Popular Rally - Founded by Pierre Clementi and Marcel Deat - A French Fascist Party with Socialistic and Syndicalistic tendencies. They too initially supported Nazi Germany thinking it would bring about a strong Fascist France, but they were wrong and thus they would regret collaboration, instead forming an opposition with the Pro-Italian Francistes towards the PPF Government.

August 10, 1962: Fascist Italy under Balbo, Scorza and Ciano approaches the OFN for the possibility of an alliance. Due to the aftermath of the Fall of the Triumvirate, the Italians realize they need to join in an alliance to guarantee their protection from a future resurgent post-civil war Germany.

Hardline Fascist Scorza is skeptical about working with Democracies although he realizes the dire situation and supports cooperation, meanwhile Ciano and Moderate Fascist Balbo welcome the idea of a Fascist State very friendly towards the United States and the OFN.

The OFN, they're a little skeptical of an alliance with Fascists. However the OFN are aware of the Italians having little love for Germany and Nazism. As well, the OFN do see an opportunity of Fascist Italy joining the OFN, for it would allow the OFN a foothold in Europe.

Talks between Italy and the OFN would commence regarding Italy's candidacy to join the OFN.

August 11, 1962: Kurt Saxon, Yockey, writes Q and Hanoi, an instruction book full of information on how to create weapons and destructive devices. The book is interspersed with racist and anti-semitic rants, with occasional essays mentioning L. Ron Hubbard and the Church of Scientology. The NPP formally disavows these self-published articles collected into printed books. The book uses SS-style iconography, with the Burgundian black sun being linked to Hubbard's doctrine. The book also stresses a coming apocalypse due to UFO activity and 'inferior races', and as such contains extensive survivalist recommendations. Non-perishable foods, critical items, having a bug-out spot, and other things are found in the book. It is never a massive success, but the news has a field day with it. However, one lunatic does little to alter the fate of a vast and multifaceted party - let alone a nation.

August 12, 1962: Genrikh Yagoda, ruler of the Provisional Government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (Irkutsk Government) dies from a stroke with Sergei Kruglov winning the power struggle and a Korean emigre named Kim il-Sung becoming his second-in-command.

August 8, 1962: Mikhail Tukhachevsky gives a speech in Kotlas where he elaborates on his ideology of Permanent War Communism, which sees the military as the vanguard of the revolution and argues that a truly revolutionary state is one run by the military until the bourgeoisie are defeated.

August 11, 1962: Talks between Fascist Italy and the United States commence. Ciano Galeazzo and Italo Balbo would go to Washington D.C. where they would discuss the terms of joining the OFN.

At that same time, Carlo Scorza, Ettore Mutti and Alessandro Pavolini (With Balbo and Ciano's approval) would have the Voluntary Militia for National Security/Blackshirt Paramilitaries evolve from Political Militias to an Elite Fighting Force similar to the SS called the National Security Volunteer Legions.

August 5, 1962: In a speech before the Legislative Yuan of the Reorganized Government of China, President Gao Zongwu announces the Five Modernizations, Education, Industrialization, Technology, Militarization, and Reunification with an enthusiastic Legislative Yuan reportedly clapping loudly upon said speech.

August 9, 1962: News of China's Five Modernizations Program reach Tokyo. If the government was functioning, then action might have been taken. However, as the power struggle continues in Japan, most factions don't really pay attention. The only one to do so is Fumimaro Konoe, old school conservative, who says that Japan needs to prevent China from becoming a dominant force.

August 16, 1962: Joseph Darnand (French Fascist) and Leon Degrelle (Belgian Fascist) whom lead the French SS Charlemagne Legion and Belgian SS Walloon Legions of the German/Burgundian SS form a hidden opposition towards Himmler's Authority.

This comes in response to Himmler's invasion of France, as well the French and Belgian Fascist Volunteers who serve in the German/Burgundian SS are unhappy with defiling of France and Belgium. This is especially true with many French and Belgian Fascists in the SS also unhappy with the treatment of French and Belgians under Burgundian Spartanism.

Thus they seek to expel the SS, dismantle Burgundy as a State and give lost territory back to France as well create a strong Fascist France (Joseph Darnand) and create a Fascist Belgium (Leon Degrelle).

August 17, 1962: That being said, Himmler has Darnand's Charlemagne Legion and Degrelle's Walloon Legion sent to fight in Germany under Heydrich's Forces. For Himmler is aware of their opposition towards his rule. Thus he sends them into the German Civil War for the purpose of dying in battle.
