EDIT: If yes, since when? And when will major powers start recolonising Europe and northern North America? What tech level exists?

better stirling book thing snip
Great work on the map, but how large is the population of the world at this point? I don't think it'd be even a billion, all things considering. Also, how many natives are in Sequoyah? (also I imagine there being a since of post Apocalypse in the years following the climate warming (aka native uprisings in africa and a lot of bandits in north america (the wild west on steroids)

IOTL Peru suffered a civil war shortly after the end of chilean occupation, after the War of the Pacific. In this war, peruvian president Iglesias (supported by Chile) resigned after lossing the Battle of Lima and is replaced by peruvian general Andrés A. Cáceres.

ITTL Iglesias refuses to resign and flees to Arequipa, in southern Peru, where he managed to create an alternate peruvian government (south-peruvian government or Iglesias's Peru) and resist the northern (northern-peruvian government or Caceres's Peru) attempts to subdue the southern provinces. As the civil war raged on, chilean and british investors in Peru urged Iglesias for a solution, but in February 26th, 1887 a chilean merchant ship was sunk by north-peruvian navy, Cáceres quickly said it was a terrible mistake and offered his apologies but his government wont pay any compensation unless Chile stops supporting Iglesias, but the burning of a chilean business in Lima a few days after ended in the blockade of El Callao, Lima's port, by the chilean navy on March 10th, 1887.

Caceres advisors persuaded him to cool down the situation, knowing that they couldn't win a war against Chile. Bolivia offered their help but they could only send weapons and supplies. Caceres finally surrendered but only if he was allowed to finish his presidency. Iglesias refused the idea as Caceres was an usurpator. Chile, trying to mediate between both parties, offered the idea of a democratic election but both sides weren't interested. The United States, Argentina and Bolivia recognized Caceres as Peru's president, meanwhile the British Empire, Chile and Brazil recognized Iglesias; knowing that a south american conflict only served for british and north american purposes, emperor Pedro II of Brazil called for a summit and the Congress of Sao Paulo took place in May, 1887. Envoys from North-Peru, South-Peru, Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, British Empire, United States and Brazil itself; french, german, spanish, mexican, uruguayan and colombian ambassadors were invited. In the 5 days long summit, the different nations agreed that the best solution to the civil conflict was to divide Perú in two states and after 20 years a plebiscite would decide if the country reunites or keep split in two.

In 1908 the plebiscite was held and surprisingly 67% of south peruvians voted to keep apart from North Peru. In 1910 South Peru was refounded as the Republic of Cuzco, with capital in Arequipa, as a presidential republic with close ties with the British Empire, Chile and Brazil. In 1915 as a sign of good will, Chile returns the former peruvian provinces of Tacna and Arica to Cuzco. Meanwhile the northern half, Peru, would grow following the north american model.

Does anyone have some ideas for a mid 1800s cold war/victorian age mashup? the main sides are the London Accords (Britain, Westphalia, and Portugal among others),
Western Alliance (Kingdom(?) of France, Bavaria (Southern Germany), Italia (northern italy), and the usa is leaning towards them), and the "Eurasian Sphere of Rhomania"
(Russia, Prussia (a more autonomous client state), and (for now) the Qing Empire, with Mexico leaning towards them). There is a 'Non Aligned Movement', led by an independent Hungary. thoughts on how to expand on this?

I would love to know more about the Dreamtime religion, is it a mix of Christianity and First Nation beliefs? How did it first get popular and how did it spread so quickly? What are it's major tenants? Are Australian Aboriginals treated better in this timeline because of it?

An excellent take on Peshwar Lancers @HeX
So, in this world, Christianity takes a huge nosedive after the Fall causes almost every denomination to go into a frenzy about the End of the World and quoting the Book of Revelation and everything. Catholicism managed to bounce back, since it's a worldwide organization that's practically a government in and of itself, but the Protestant faiths, which are splintered and confined geographically, decline rapidly as a result of the world not actually ending and people generally losing faith in a religion they felt had lied to them. So, naturally, religions rose to replace the Protestant faiths. The Church of England, which was a direct organ of the British government, needed to evolve so as to not drag down the rest of the empire with it, so the Anglicans abandoned most provisions of Christianity and renamed their religion Dreamtime. Dreamtime adheres to most of what the Aboriginal Australians believe, though God and Christ are both worked in in some aspects, albeit as more minor players in the Dreamtime equation. Aboriginals as a result are treated much better, the exception to the rule of whites oppressing the natives in the British Empire. The pilgrimages that are so integral to the OTL faith play a major part, too, though while the Aboriginal wisemen travel across the Australian Outback, every young English man returns to the British Isles for a treacherous journey to their ancestral home from before the Fall.

Also, thanks!

Is that a German exile state out in Nigeria? Isn't Portugal-in-exile unhappy France is colonizing Algarve? How's Russia doing? And it looks like Sweden still exists, given their claims to Scandinavia, where are they based?
Yes.

Yes, but what are they going to really do about it? The remaining Portuguese still living there are fine with it, anyways.

Rus'ia is not doing to hot. Much better than in The Peshawar Lancers, where they're Satan-worshiping cannibals, but Rus'ia is run by a dictator and is slowly being dismantled by the Caliphate with its resources sucked dry for the benefit of Mecca.

Sweden's currently in exile in Sydney, but they plan on returning to Europe as soon as possible.

The climate of 2032 is just as it's restabilized and reached normal levels again. It's also just before the rush to recolonize the Great White North, which'll begin in 2033.
The tech level is about that of the 2010s. It's not steampunk, but this world has culturally stagnated a bit and there are still flairs of the Victorian Era even in 2032, mostly in architecture.

Honestly, I think the population would be about an even billion, due to a baby boom hitting in the 2020s as the climate warms up. I don't have a solid number pinned down in regards to native numbers in Sequoyah, but the nation is definitely American Indian majority. And yeah, there have been native uprisings, and cowboys are heading into upper North America now.

Presumably the Beast is a gossip or just won't shut up or something. I mean just talking doesn't seem that bad considering plagues and earthquakes and war.
I think that's supposed to mean the Beast will be coercing people into joining the side of the Devil. Or perhaps it's the Eleventh Commandment: "Thou shalt not talk shit!"

Mid-1800? I would expect more space for Russia... yeah, France was after Napoleonic war still UK rival, but Russia was bigger one (crimean war was at this time...). Also, revolution could be big theme, here probably succeeded more than OTL? Partially united Italy and independent Hungary (so Austria collapsed?)
And what about US-Mex war?

(1) Grand Imperial Korea (그랜드 임페리얼 조선) - During the late 1500’s, the Korean peninsula which was then under the Joseon dynasty was opened to the Western world thanks to British, Russian, French, and Portuguese trade allowing the Korean nation to become westernized along side it’s nextdoor neighbor Japan. However despite being neighbors with another nation who hopped on the “Westernize Me” bandwagon, the Koreans and Japanese have always shown extreme rivalry and outright hatred towards one another from various things (whether it be over the disputed Liancourt Islands, the fact that Korea claims that it “civilized” Japan from being a nation of barbarians, to even down to Koreans claiming for fact that Japanese culture is a copy of Korean culture) and in a few incidents resulted in some wars between the two nations with only stalemates as a result. Eventually by the 1880’s the Korean kingdom ruled by the Joseon dynasty was seen to have way too much power when it came to governing the Korean people resulting in a compromise resulting in Korea becoming an “empire” but at same time a constitutional monarchy in which the Emperor of Korea has now little power, while the prime minister (whom is elected every five years) is the one with the absolute power. By the closing of the 19th century, Korea ended up assisting in the Boxer Rebellion taking a lot of territory in China and eventually took over and annexed Manchuria into its empire while giving the Manchu people equal status since the Korean government views Manchus as long lost siblings to the Korean people (while at the same time views the Han Chinese and Japanese as outright inferior savages). Other wars in which made Korea a dominant power were the Formosa War (in which Korea and Japan fought control over Formosa (Taiwan) which in end the Koreans won total control over it), Russo-Korean War (resulting in Tsarist Russia being outmatched by Korea’s might and resulted in “Outer Manchuria” being annexed into the Korean Empire), and the current ongoing Sino-Korean War in which Korea claims is “liberating” China from savagery, but in reality is warring China to create more settler colonies for the Korean people. Of course once again it’s nextdoor rival the Japanese Empire has also become mighty as well having taking over Russian Alaska (as Alaska never was sold to the US), Marshall Islands, the Philippines, and much of Micronesia. As a result it only a matter of time until the two powerhouses war one another.

(2) Orthodox Kingdom of Korea (Чосён-ый Bанк-кук) - The Russian Empire as it expanded into Siberia eventually didn’t stop there once reaching the Pacific, instead Tsarist Russia expanded south eventually colonizing Mongolia, Manchuria, and even the Korean peninsula eventually after successfully warring the Qing dynasty in China during the late 1700’s and early 1800’s. As a result Mongolia and much of Manchuria became settled by Russians and Ukrainians and even Volga Germans, however the Korean peninsula was a different story as it was made into more of a short-lived protectorate of the Russian Empire resulting in Korea becoming a hub for Orthodoxy to thrive as Koreans began to convert to it resulting in the creation of the Korean Orthodox Church by 1824. At that time the Korean royal family would end up converting to Orthodoxy as it was now the common religion in the kingdom alongside Korean shamanism. Eventually furthermore the nation itself would scrap the Hangul alphabet and replace it with a Cyrillic alphabet used for the Korean language that it still uses today. When it comes to foreign relations in East Asia, Korea has trouble since Japan and China want nothing to do with an Orthodox/Christian nation to which many view as traitorous.

(3) Empire of Korea (한국의 제국) - In this universe the Korean Empire (which existed in OTL from 1897 until Japan forcefully annexed it in 1910) still exists in the 21st century, albeit as a constitutional monarchy nonetheless. Since Japan never invaded and annex Korea in 1910, it instead became more of a client state to the Japanese Empire especially during World War II (similar to how Thailand was), but with the Japanese defeat at the end of the Second World War, Korea was occupied by Allied forces and immediately went back to being a constitutional monarchy again seeing that it is the “traditional way”. As a result of this the Empire of Korea would end up intermarrying with the Japanese royal family to the point many Koreans and Japanese sometimes dream of a personal union, but odds of this happening are questionable to the eyes of a Westerner. During the Cold War, the nation of Korea saw itself undergo a major economic boom as tech corporations like Samsung and car corporations like Kia and Hyundai saw huge success in the West making Korea become a very modernized developed nation alongside Japan, seeing that cities like Hanseong (Seoul), Busan, Hwangsong (Pyongyang), Incheon, Suwon, and Changwon are metropolises with millions of hardworking devoted Koreans.

(4) - Military South Korea (Republic of Korea) - The military dictatorship ran by Park Chung-lee never falls in Korea as when he was assassinated in 1979, his eldest daughter Park Geun-hye became the new leader of the so called “Republic of Korea” which of course still a military dictatorship today as whenever national elections are held the ruling Democratic Republican Party (not to be confused with the US one) always wins election mostly by the means of cheating and fraud, but of course nobody dares to speak out against it unless they want to end up vanishing the next day. Although it is a major economic hub for corporations like Samsung, Kia, Hyundai, and LG it’s working conditions are reported by Westerners to be more “horrific” than that of China with some reporting that some companies have workers working 20 hours a day. Not to mention the fact that tertiary education is very important to the point it is mandatory in South Korea and it is consider criminal offense if one drops out or doesn’t go to college or trade school once after serving three years in military service (in which all men and women have to do once turning 18). As a result of this the military-run South Korea is not only a heavily defended nation it also has nuclear weapons ready to be launched on it’s northern communist neighbor of North Korea incase a Second Korean War ever breaks out, which if that ever happens North Korea will be instantly razed to dust.

(5) People’s Republic of Korea (조선 민주주의 인민 공화국) - The Korean War turned out very differently due to a minor POD being that US General Douglas MacArthur was killed in World War II. As a result although US and UN forces (on the side of the US) would still intervene in the beginning, by 1952 the war was already a major loss to them resulting in Truman having to pull out of the Korean peninsula with the last US and UN (mostly Indian, Turkish, Australian, British, French, and Canadian troops) forces pulling out from Busan in September of 1952, which afterwards resulted in the entire peninsula dominated under communist rule by Kim Il-sung. However although Korea is still a communist nation today, it has adopted capitalist techniques like China has allowing corporations like Samsung and LG to thrive well and unlike China, Korea allows freedom of religion as long you don’t speak out against the government still run by the Kim family.

(6) Republic of New Judea (רפובליקת יהודה החדשה) - Japan never allies with Nazi Germany and Mussolini’s Italy in World War II and as a result becomes neutral throughout the entire war (US still gets involved in a parallel attack similar to Pearl Harbor, but happens in Boston in 1942 by German U-boats). That said this gave time for Japan to use the Korean peninsula for other plans than it had originally seeing how the Japanese Empire was becoming flooded with Jewish refugees fleeing from Europe to escape from genocide done by the Nazis. As a result the Japanese had plans in mind for Korea resulting in the creation of a Jewish state under the name of “New Judea” in 1946. As a result it becomes a destination for millions of Jews worldwide to relocate to. However despite this it came at a cost as the Korean inhabitants faced the same situation like Palestinian Arabs do in OTL, resulting in a bloody war during the 1950’s resulting in the creation of the State of Korea which is a very poor nation with little economic success. Although the Jews enjoy a life of no more oppression, the Koreans face the oppression being regarded by New Judeans as backwards polytheistic people, resulting in plenty of hatred for one another hear and there. But of course despite this Japan and the US recognizes New Judea as a legitimate nation even if Asian countries like China, Manchuria, and Mongolia do not seeing New Judea as a evil nation expanding and oppressing the Korean people under “Japanese Zionism”.

(7) Korean SSR (Корейская ССР) - With the victory against communist North Korea in the Korean War resulting in the Korean peninsula under capitalism, the Soviets responded to this by the creation of the Korean SSR using the island of Sakhalin as it’s location seeing it being geographically closer to Korea. As a result throughout the 1950’s and 1960’s resulted in the Korean SSR becoming a destination for North Korean veterans and for Korean communists to settle in especially in the capital city of New Pyongyang (originally called Poronaysk). Currently as of the 1980’s it has become the Soviet Union’s economic tech hub for computer and electronic companies to thrive and exist with in return benefits the rest of the Soviet Union.

Love that one. That's a funny twist.

I love this! As there is a Jewish-Korean conflict: How exactly are Koreans treated by New Judea? Would people speak of a "South Bank"? Is there an analogue to Gaza ITTL?

Y Wladfa! Really, though, what is the backstory behind this?

I'm afraid the backstory is a dream I had last night about a Welsh Vietnam War (Men of Harlech playing from helicopters dropping napalm on villages, etc) - a lengthy guerilla war by Spanish Patagonians against a beefed-up Welsh Patagonia was the only conceivable way I could think of for that to happen.

Damn, that would be epic! I have also thought of an idea discussed in another thread about a multinational Patagonia composed of:
-French Kingdom of Araucania and Patagonia
-German Valdivia
-Welsh Y Wladfa
-Boer settlements in Patagonia
-Basque settlements in Patagonia
-Mapuche natives
-Croatian Tierra del Fuego
-Scottish Falklands
-Scandinavian South Georgia

All of which were real settlements and migrations IRL.

I cannot help but feel Chile would have more land at that point. As well as for there to be at least one city for the communists. Hmmm, also need to wonder if this might be an Argentina wank, with them having got Uruguay... ahh wait, not Uruguay. Looks so similar though.
