Update on my CSA game: After a six-year civil war with 13 million deaths I finally annexed the USA. Russia declared war on Germany while fighting Japan and Turkestan and got curb stomped. Germany also forced the Setting Sun event on Japan. The UK declared war on Reichspakt aligned Spain for Gibraltar. France pushed to the Rhine then had their army wrecked. The UK is slowly pushing Germany out of France with 100+ divisions by themselves (the French are down to 2 divisions).
I rebuilt the US and took over the Americas while that was going on. Even with a massive army, Peru was a PITA to take down I slammed into the mountains and took 1 million casualties without moving them at all. I didn't even do that bad taking on Brazil and it's puppet Argentina.
Fun game. I'm going to like setting up more scenarios like this.
On the legalization of suicide part, I believe that came from this passage, as the devs told me Foster wrote that engineering your own suicide in defiance of capitalism was a good thing, and I believe they were referring to this:

Except America is federal. So the socialists probably focus on developing state level programs when they fall short of the presidency.
Maybe name them after tribes in the areas of Mittelafrika, RP them as levee's from the chiefs

I'll miss Vasyl "groomed to be Polish, wanted to be Ukrainian so much he escaped home to travel Ukraine undercover" Vyshyvanyi, I'll admit.
Based on the updated Vasyl page, he has been turned into a leading figure of anti-Hetman movements based in Galicia-Lodomeria, with ties to people like Symon Petliura. He may or may not be a pretender to the Ukrainian throne, but if so he appears disillusioned with it.
There's a minor secondary spoiler for the East European Rework on the Ukrainian State page: Poland apparently starts out as a Reichspakt nation. It also indicates one thing won't change: the Don-Kuban Union existing in 1936.

I must say, I always considered it a mistake, that a Catholic like Papen was the leader of the DKP.

German Rework is, as I understand it, something that has been a slow-burn concern for quite a while, it just isn't the 'literally predates HOI4' thing of the Chinese rework.
He's not going to be gone from Kaiserreich, he'll just be in Russia instead (because that's where he should be).

I actually have been thinking about this! It might be overly romantic/whitewashing, but I can definitely see Lettow-Vorbeck gaining a lot of respect for some of the local black cultures after using them as Askari, and even becoming sort of progressive in a '30s racist way. "The Ngoni and waHehe are true warrior races, possessed of dignity, honor, and martial prowess that would make them the envy of Europe, had they only industry, modern science, and sound leadership from Berlin to get them on their feet. I made men of those peoples officers in my army in the Weltkrieg, and they served me loyally for seven long years as well as any white man under my command. What von Göring has done to their land is a disgrace and an insult to the dignity of these folk that we should be looking in the eye as equals as we raise them to be our partners on the Dark Continent to keep the ungrateful rebels from overrunning our domain!"
Probably overly optimistic, but Lettow-Vorbeck always was a pragmatist, and he did tell Hitler to sod off OTL, so there's potential there considering that he spent 2 more years living as the leader of a glorified nomad tribe with guns and good discipline while the war raged on in Europe.

Just played my first Savinkovist Russia game after going as the CSA for my first game. My god, that's satisfying after the mire and muddle of the ACW. A clean few years of buildup, then you're smashing enemies like tenpins all over the map. Got pretty sloppy near the end, but the margin of victory was high, and and I couldn't imagine Savinkov giving a crap about more land once he's got the Tsar's old borders and a little extra for buffer.
