The British Japanese alliance of 1902, was renowed in 1912 and 1932.

British and Japanese diplomats signed the treaty of Honk Kong(1932)

The alliance was needed to protect the interests of the two states in Pacific and eastern Asia.
The alliance, called also Pacific Pact, included(and still included) GB, Japan, Australia, New Zeeland, Empire of China(Taiwan Island), Kingdom of Hawaii and Kingdom of Thailand, and the main task was to coordinate sealane patrols and watch German(and now Chinese) interferences in Pacific and Indian oceans.

Pistols of the Confederacy

Z35308A__51324.1546999143.jpg

In 1900, the Confederate Military would adopt for it's first automatic service pistol the Mauser C96, in which they would order 10,000 for their military. In 1910, the Atlanta Arsenal would begin construction on locally made copies of the pistol, called the M1910, which unlike the original Mauser pistols, were made of an inferior quality, on par with the Chinese made C96. When production of these pistols ended in 1933, half a million of the M1910s were built.
337.jpg

Out of the 602,000 pistols, 1,500 were of the Special Purpose model, also known as the Shorty by collectors. These were built specifically for the Presidential Guards, the Confederate Secret Police known as the Huntington Agency, and by Confederate Spies. When retired in the 1930s, most of them were imported by Interarms into the Union and sold of the collector market, thus are the most sought after Confederate Pistol. Which led to many standard M1910 pistols being faked by modifying the gun with a shorter barrel and adding on the S on the right side of the gun for the intention to rip-off potential buyers thinking it's a real Shorty.
maxresdefault.jpg

In the mid 1930s, the Huntington Agency and the Presidential Guard would purchase from Germany 1,000 Walther PPK pistols with suppressors, and order 500 more in 1959. They would remain in service with those two organizations until the late 1970s when they were replaced by the Mk 22 "Hush Puppy." Afterwards, most of them would end up being destroyed with the exception of 200 pistols. The Confederate PPK would also be subject to fakery as like the M1910S, with the inscriptions such as Property of the Huntington Agency or Confederate States of America Presidential Guards being added to the right side of the slides.

In 1930, the Confederate Armed Forces would adopt a replacement for the M1910 called the M1930, chambered for 7.63x25mm Mauser. Due to the pistol being influenced by the Union M1911 Pistol, collecting circles would commonly refer this gun as the "Confederate 1911 Rip-Off." The M1930 was produced until 1947 when the M1930/47 variant entered production, which in turn lasted in 1958 when production ceased. The Confederate Military used the pistol until the early 1950s when the Union supplied M1911 and M1917 pistols began to enter service. The Confederate Police however, would use the pistol all the way to the late 1980s when they were replaced by the Beretta M92S and the Glock pistol. In the early 1990s, a majority of these M1930 and M1930/47 pistols would be imported into the Union, and were for many years, very cheap along with the ammo.

In the early 1950s, the Confederate Armed Forces would receive thousands of M1911 and M1917 Pistols as foreign aid from the Union and were adopted. The M1917 was used by the Confederate Air Force, and was mainly used by ground crews as well as pilots and guards. The M1911 would be used by the Army and Navy. The M1911 would be withdrawn from Confederate Military Service in the mid 1980s when the Glock was adopted.

Adopted in 1977, the Mk 22 Pistol was the mainstay weapon of the Confederate Presidential Guard and the Huntington Agency as well as Task Force 7.

In 1986, the Confederate Army and Navy would adopt the Glock pistol as their standard service pistol, which would replace the M1911 pistol and later replace the M1917 from Air Force service and the M1930 series from Police Service.

Serving alongside the Glock in Confederate Navy service would be the Swiss built SiG P226 pistol, which was adopted in 2005 for their Marine units.

Europa of "La Triplice"
Local time: 1950
If you have follow my TL, "La Triplice", you know that Germany won the WWI allied with Italy.

In this TL there is nothing comparable to WWII
The first years after the war were dominated by local wars(Dalmatian war between Italy and Hungary, the Polish uprising and Sovie revolution) , but by early '30s Europe find an unstable peace, shattered in forties by Algerian uprising, war of Somali indipendence, German intervention in far east and, more important, Mexican and Russian wars.

Germany: Is the greatest power in Europe and one of the greater of the world.
Germany is a conservative federal empire, ruled by Berlin by Wilhelm III.
The empire provides a good welfare system. Politically it is not a dictatorship, but Keiser(and other kings) have a lot of power and civil rights, although formally respected, are less important than state security.
Said that there are no political police, and parties are free to compete in elections.
German army and fleet are ones between the most powerful and large, not only in Europe, but around the world and the atomic bomb give Berlin a fair advantage against many enemies.
Defeated Fascit Russia in 1948 and quelled the last Polish revolt in 1949 Germany seems suopreme in Europe.
The main problem of Germany is its colonial empire, that doesen't age well.
The brutaly which allowed its stability in Africa is becoming more and more a problem, Poland is always on the edge of revolt and reicharmee is spread in too many fronts.
Africa, probaly shall be lost before the '60s and Iraq shall follow soon.
220px-William%2C_German_Crown_Prince.jpg
Keiser Wilhem III Von Hoenzollern(1941)

Italy: Italy is the european junior power.
A conservative monarchy under Umberto II di Savoia.
Differently from Germany, Italy is not only ruled by a militocracy but under D'Annunzio become close to a dictature.
When D'Annunzio died in 1938, the new italian PM(predidente del consiglio dei Ministri), Nitti was embroiled in a revolt against french colonists in Alegeria and by 1939 in a full war against France and United States with Britain.
When the war ended, Italy is not in good shape.
Economy, devasted by the war, struggles to recover, damages are extensive and Italy has not an extended welfare as Germany has.
Socially, the kingdom, is a mess of liberal democracy, prussian constitutionalism and ultra-catholic conservatorism.
Italian Army defeated the Algerianian rebels(with help of Tunisinian and Lybian irregulars), but Algeri is still a non-go zone.
Lebanon is the only secure colonial possession, Palestine and Syria are starting to agitate, comoplicated by jewish migrants around Jerusalem.
Costal cities of Lybia are secured, but desert is out of control.
Rome feels African Horn territories as lost in a war against Etjiopia that become more and more probable.

Republic of Great Turkey:
Turkey is a new player in the European arena.
Given dead after WWI, under the ironfist rule of Kemal Pasha resurrected in a new (for now) regional power.
Kemal left go away the provinces with an arab majority and strenghtened the ties with turkophone and kurs one.
He(differently from HL) didn't spoil the Ottoman Sultan of his religiouse role and put christian minorities under the protection of the Caliph.
The millet system was partially manteined and greeks remained(mostly) faithful to Great Turkey.
Armenians were another matter.
If greeks were, rightly or wrongly, to be a part of this state as heirs of byzantine empire(which gave ottomans a lot), Armenians feel to be only a persecuted and oppressed minority(Armenian genocide worked in a lessere extent in this TL, because germany performed better aiding the ottomans in Caucasus).
Diring the Second Russian War, when Turkey entered in war against Russia on german side, Armenian arose in revolt and were punished(badly).
Now Turkey is decisely the third player of Central alliance with a good economy, a strong army and big allies.
The main problems were armenians(for them is not yet decided what to do, but probably shall not end well) and Caucasus where turkish military presence is a heavy burden, both for occupieds and occupators.

Ismet Pasha: President of Greater Turkish Repubblic

Kingdom of Hungary:
The kingdom of Hungary is the last of the central power, both for economy and military power.
Hungary is a country with a lot of problems and in the chancelleries of Rome, Berlin and Istanbul its end is belived a matter of time.
Hungarian army was not so bad during the Second Russian War, but at the end gained only some Rumanian counties.
Hungary big problem are its minorities, Differently from Turkey, Budapest promoted a forced magyarization and it didn't work well.
If Croatians stay leal because of italian army in Dalmatia; Galitia and Transylvania, without foreign menace, didn't the same.
Tension are rising now, and only the young King Otto is the reason why monarchy is not fallen...yet.
Hungary is confessional semi-dictatorship, where the Landowners party and the army rule with an iron fist.
The king is young Otto Von Habsburg, he is more or less a prisoner of Admiral Miklos Horty wich is, technically, only the First Minister but rules as a dictator.

People's repubblic of France:
France is a communist state, the revolution happened in 1924 when the party, on platform of social justice, partition of land and revenge from Germany won the election by a slight margin.
France is not, however, comparable with HL soviet Russia; and its first days were bloody, now its more calm and after the war againt Britain and Italy is more a socialdemocracy that a communist state. However only the Partie de travalleirs is allowed to run for elections and the Guetteurs(the whatchmen) the secret police is everywhere.
France is been always able to avoid a war aginst Germany and also to ignite a revolution in India and Italian ME, but is now under attack from Japan in Viet-Nam and Indocina(Tokyo send "volunteers" to start a national insurrection against the godless and western ruler), and the country is still ravaged by war, with a not so good economy despite american aids.

United Kingdom of Great Britain
Great Britain is in bad shape.
They fought americans in Mexico and Canada, defend from France along the channel and fought a war against a genocidal fascio-communist dictatorship in India.
However they manage to survive.
Allied with Italy, U.K saves Portugal(if not spain) from communism and defends Africa.
The loss of a great part of India, however hits very hard, First Minister, Wiston Churchill had to resign also if he was able to save Cylon, Pakistan, Bangladesh and mostly Burma(that was looking to Japan more than to London).
Despite the economic crisis, GB is still a democracy and has a good welfare.
The new premier, Clement Attlee, must defend Africa, maybe with the institute of Dominion-

A portrait of the long standing General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union Joseph Stalin, whom would reign from 1922 to late 1976.
He would go on to be succeeded by the debatably progressive by comparison Lavrentiy Beria...

Are you high? Beria was so merciless in his duties that Stalin once called him 'my Himmler'. Also, as Mr.Gatsby alluded to, Soviet leaders went out of their way to make sure their daughters stayed far away form Beria, who had a reputation as both a rapist and a paedophile.
Him being more "Liberal" was more or less a tactic to get the people to like him, making things seem a tad bit better than they already were. Rest assure he was still the same Beria we all hate and loath.
When did that speech happen, just out of curiosity?
Well it happened after Stalins death and after he got in charge.

Beria was a beast, but is said that he try to play the liberal after Stalin death. He didn't succeed. Have Stalin live longer, who knows?

Yeah the Death of Stalin describes it really good

If not i recall badly, in 1953, when Stalin died, he try to gain the liberal wing of Communist Party calling for amnesty and freeing of political prisoners.

Beria was a chameleon through and through. According to Khrushchev, he cackled when Stalin died, wept and got his knees when Stalin might've lived, then spat when Stalin died for real.

I imagine he would've deported his wife and children if Stalin told him too.

Russian Troops enter Eastern Ukraine

NATO forces skirmish with Russian columns near Zhytomyr
The Ukraine Crisis has its beginnings in 2014 when Russia, using the unrest in Ukraine as a pretext, invaded and occupied the Crimean Peninsula in late 2014 claiming to protect ethnic Russians in the area. The UN, NATO and EU all protested the action and began to level harsh sanctions on Russia until they pulled out. Russia however did not. Instead they quickly flooded the Peninsula with military forces and during a pro-Ukraine and pro-EU rally in Sevastopol, used tear gas and rubber bullets to suppress dissent. The situation deteriorated when in Eastern Ukraine, the regions of Luhansk and Donetsk revolted after pro-Russian militants stormed strategic positions across both regions and seized them with little bloodshed. In an instant Ukraine was torn apart by civil war as the Ukrainian Army, long underfunded and undermanned, struggled to retake the contested areas. Soon after Ukraine revealed that Russian troops and supplies were found in Eastern Ukraine fighting with the rebels and provided proof of both a captured Russian citizen, a whole battalion of Russian 'volunteers' being recorded on a captured video camera and thousands of captured Russian guns. While Russia categorically denied its role in Eastern Ukraine, instead saying pinning the support on "Patriots and volunteers with no ties to the Russian Government" the world at large remained unconvinced. In a response to this NATO began to send the Ukrainian Army weapons and advisers to train them much to Russia's chagrin, accusing them of intervening without cause, demanding they pull out lest Russia 'intervene directly'. As the rebels began to be pushed out of more and more positions and the front closed in on the cities of Luhansk and Donetsk themselves it seemed like NATO had successfully called Russia's bluff. This however was proved false when the Russian Black Sea Fleet landed 250 Russian Marines at Odessa and quickly disarmed the small Ukrainian garrison, capturing the town within half an hour. This was a direct move by Russia and brought even harsher condemnation from the EU, NATO and UN and tensions were sent to new heights. As NATO troops in Poland began to cross into Ukraine at the same time Russian troops moved into the revolting regions of Donetsk and Luhansk. Two days later the UN General Secretary called on the US and Russia to come to the table in an International Conference on Ukraine to be held in Turkey two weeks in the future. After a few tense days both the US and Russia agreed to the meeting and the world began to prepare for the meeting.

Meanwhile NATO troops in Ukraine began to butt up against Russian troops. Under orders both forces kept distances between each other to keep shots from being fired and war from breaking out. Instead NATO troops began to push towards Luhansk and Donetsk while the Russians began to push towards Kiev. What happened next however is up to debate. What is known for certain is that both Russian and NATO forces entered Zhytomyr, Ukraine which was at the time contested between the Ukrainian Army and the Rebels. The two sides stayed on opposite poles of the city however as they engaged their enemies when suddenly fire was traded between NATO and Russian troops. The fighting lasted a few dozen minuets and ended with NATO artillery support forcing the Russians and Rebels out of the city. The Russians claimed taking 131 casualties while NATO claimed to have dealt only 32. However the fighting seemingly broke the taboo and suddenly fighting broke out in a few more places all along the line. Nothing big or decisive, just a few units on both sides at most, yet fighting all the same. The International Press exploded with the news predicting nuclear war within the hour while national governments on both sides quickly and angrily reigned in their men and fighting stopped completely soon after. However toxic vitriol flew like oxygen from the mouths of both sides as pundits declared the deaths of their soldiers meant war was now unavoidable and their deaths had to be avenged. The US Sixth Fleet was put on alert and moved to patrol the Aegean Sea and the Straits of Marmara as NATO, EU and Russian troops across Europe were put on high alert. The Russian Black Sea Fleet also took up positions near the mouth of the Straits seemingly in preparation for a breakout. For a few days in mid 2015 the Doomsday Clock stood at 11:59:59 and the world waited with baited breath as to who would fire the first shot of the war. Then, cooler heads prevailed.

The US President, EU Representatives and the Russian President all met in Istanbul for the Ukraine Conference and progress was made quickly. While little is known of what was actually said its known that all parties agreed that a war between them would produce no winners, even if nuclear weapons were not deployed. The conference went on for two weeks and in that time both EU/NATO troops and Russian troops in Ukraine were forced back to bases in the far East and West of Ukraine to eliminate any chance of further skirmishes muddying the waters. After the two weeks were finished all three parties presented the Ukraine Accords to the public. It called for NATO/EU and Russian troops to pull out of Ukraine over the next two weeks. Reparations to the families of the dead killed in the skirmishes were to be paid by both sides. Both sides also agreed to end their aid to both sides of the Ukrainian conflict and both agreed that after the conflict that they would not let Ukraine join NATO, the EU or CSTO for a period of five years. The various powers quickly ratified it and by the end of 2015 all foreign troops in Ukraine were reportedly out, including the Russian volunteers. The war had avoided a cataclysmic war, but only barely. [...]
