Guess what guys! The creator the American Totalists Mod for Kaiserreich wanted to ask my permission to use some of my flags for his mod! To celebrate, here's some flags I've made recently in my spare time:
The first two flags are, incidentally, inspired by a couple of Focus Tree icons from Kaiserreich; while I can't find any direct images of the focus icons themselves, you can pretty easily find their obvious inspirations from the Polish Focus Tree in-game, to state one convenient example. Otherwise, you'll just have to do a little digging to find the exact focus icons, but they should be pretty easy to spot once you know the common elements involved:
The first design here is what I call the "Libertarian Socialism" flag, inspired by the Focus icon featuring a black-red star with gold trim, and raised fist of solidarity. The same design also features in the Fuhrerreich mod as the ideology icon for Libertarian Socialism, hence the name I gave it.
The second flag here is what I call the "Authoritarian Socialism" flag, inspired by the Focus icon featuring the Syndicalist Torch, Gear, & Gear (as opposed to the traditional Hammer & Sickle I used here), a Red Star, a circle of chains, and a sword. The Focus icon used as inspiration is often used in-game to represent certain National Focuses that relate to creating some sort of socialist secret-police or something, like is most evident in the Combined Syndicates of America focus tree where you can either create the OSS (if you go RadSoc or Syndie) or the CIA (if you go Totalist). Obviously, this sort of imagery and association lends itself well to the moniker of "Authoritarian Socialism", an umbrella term that many Kaiserreich-style mods opt for to represent socialist ideologies outside of just Marxist-Leninist/Stalinist Communism.
Lastly, we have my own recreation of the "Grain and Gear" flag used by the American Party of Labor, a present-day Communist party; their flag, incidentally, is also present in Kaiserreich as the flag used by either of the Totalist paths (Browder or Foster) for the Combined Syndicates of America. Which kinda fits, given that the APL is a Marxist-Leninist party of the Stalinist/Hoxhaist bent, and actually traces its origins to Foster himself.
That's it for today's flags, so check out the American Totalists Mod by Clothcoat, who goes by Seirbhiseach on Steam! Until next time!
EDIT: Turns out, the two flags Clothcoat/Seirbhiseach credited to me weren't actually made by me to begin with: he apparently came across my old Flag Thread on SB, saw the second-from-bottom flag in this post, and the last flag in this post, and assumed I was the original creator, not realizing the disclaimer mentioning that I did not actually create them, but rather found them from random internet-browsing.
That said, I offered to create for him some genuine flags from me, as recompense for the misunderstanding.
