This map gets me thinking these days they often have Cascadia or Ecotopia for the Pacific Northwest for future maps and proposals. Would Canada ever have something similar, say, for the Great Barrier Reef? The answer is no, of course not, but I imagine there has been some proposal along the lines of making them a administrative unit at some point. And whatda know? The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park goes up to the mainland coast. Imagine any of us trying to put that on a map.

Here’s a rough map of a proposed federalization of Italy into three macro-regions of Padania, Etruria, and Mediterranea with autonomous regions in South Tyrol, Sardinia, Sicily, etc. This proposal was largely championed by political theorist Gianfranco Miglio

Anyone got maps regarding Soviet/Eastern bloc cold war-era war plans? Seven days to the River Rhine is the only one that I can think of, along with one Czech and a Bulgarian one.

You have to read between the lines. For instance, here we can guess they wanted to tell the possibility of parachuting several hundred thousand people along that coast. Presumably their bodies would smother those shooting them down.
