Aerial photograph of the El Morro Fort in Puerto Rico taken from USCG helicopter. The fort served as a refuge to over 400 refugees and contingents of the Puerto Rico National Guard. Several Spanish forts in the island also served the same purpose.

British Armed Forces and Falkland Island Defence Force conduct anti-Z training. The remoteness of the Falkland Islands and the nearby South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands escaped infection throughout the war, though it had to deal with refugees coming from Argentina and Brazil. Infected refugees were shot on sight. Over 600 refugees were allowed while the rest were turned away.

Fort San Pedro in Cebu City, Philippines photographed post-war. This iconic Spanish fort housed refugees, police officers, and AFP personnel holding out from the Cebu City horde. These survivors held out until the AFP went on the offensive to reclaim the Philippines from the Infected.
