The Presidents of the Confederate States of America from 1861 to 2021.
Any Questions about the various Presidents?

...

Steve Martin?
Martin pursues a political career following the success of his acting career, deciding to retire in 1993 and serves as the governor of Texas from 1994 until his election to the presidency in the 1996 Confederate Presidential Elections, defeating Labor nominee Michael Dukakis. I'm contemplating expanding the original post out with information about all the presidents down below.

Wait, Dukakkis? He was from Massachusetts!

Did his parents relocate at some point following their marriage but prior to his birth, or did they both immigrate to somewhere other than Mass. from their respective homelands and a butterfly net ensured they found each other anyways?

Dukakis was mostly used for political reconciliation points with boarder state county voters that still held slight sympathetic ties to the north. Mostly as a boarder 'golden boy', he was born in Massachusetts, served as governor there, but moved down to Virginia to pursue a career in law. It was part of the reconciliation part with the north that emphasized the eventual reunification of the CSA with the USA.

His birth state and adopted home state were featured heavily in the television campaigns played throughout the south and boarder regions as a compromise vice presidential candidate to go along with the deeply southern Carter. It's more of a ticket balancing act, with Georgia representing the deep south and Dukakis representing the upper south.
He was the governor of Massachusetts and a local attorney that worked out within an office in Richmond.

That's a lot of parties!
Here's the basic run down of what's happened in regards to all those parties:
There's a military coup that occurs to enable P.G.T Beauregard to take power away from Lee, who just resigns the presidency along with his vice president. Beauregard then steps down to allow his second in command to run in show elections in the late 1870s, Johnston then decides to retire and permit democratic real elections, resulting in the Conservatives under Butler to usher in a democratic period from 1891 to 1924 known as the "Sensible Era". There's the Labor party which initially runs and loses throughout the 1890s and 1910s before winning the presidency with Woodrow Wilson in 1914 for a single term. However, nationalists then take over with a sweeping defeat of VP Oscar Underwood's hopes and dreams for a second labor term. Pershing has a falling out with Tennessee Hugh L. Scott, who then overthrows Pershing in 1924, ruling the country under a stable military regime until his death ten years later.

Then the Populist Party, initially marginalized under the Scott dictatorship, manages to win in 1933 partly because of advantages in riding an economic message that resonated with many poor white voters. Blease serves just one term before the Conservatives come back into power with Mississippi born Herbert Hoover, who leads the country through the second world war. This incidentally leads to the growing influence of naval and army political blocs with rumors of a coup that Tom Connally unwisely decides to ignore. These rumors end with his overthrow and subsequent exile by George S. Patton, who rules with an iron fist and fiery temper until being arrested and executed by Texas Admiral Chester W. Nimitz. Nimitz is considered to be a heavily authoritarian dictator, often focusing on a massive naval run supply system to feed the people of the south which works until a devastating famine in 1958, protests soon grow to riots before Nimitz is forced out of the country in the August Revolution.

In his place arrives former protest leader turned president Barry Goldwater, who implements large scale reforms, though civil rights are still stuck with a segregationist like mentality. He proves to be one of the most popular presidents in recent memory because of his hawkish stance against the british empire. Along with LBJ from Texas, the duo continue despite a damaging scandal that they were homosexuals. ( Shortly after leaving office in 1975, Goldwater would marry LBJ.)
George Wallace soon comes up to bat on a segregationist message that's somewhat toned down because of his relationship with LDS church president Ezra Taft Benson, the former Secretary of the Treasury under Nimitz. After serving one term, the Military man and governor of Arkansas William "Bill" Clinton is elected President. Then he immediately turns the country into a dictatorship again.

After eleven years of the dictatorship of the man from Little Rock, Labor is swept into office in a 1990 legislative and presidential landslide. the "Nice Gentlemen" of Jimmy Carter and Michael Dukakis only gets them so far with a rather lackluster foreign policy against a military coup in the ottoman empire. Soon the country craves for somewhat of an outside candidate. Longtime western movie actor and comedian turned governor of Texas Steve Martin is the answer, bringing the Conservative Party roaring back into the Confederate white house after nearly fifty years of absence. Proving to be an initially popular leader, a blunder with the invasion of Saudi Arabia to "secure the oil" turns into a nearly ten long political quagmire that costs over $6 trillion. Faced with this unpopularity yet narrowly winning reelection in 2002, Martin would leave office with a mixed legacy of championing small businesses while the failures of his mass education policies haunt the successors. Relatively unknown Congressman Barry Goldwater Jr. would ride the waves of nostalgia from his father's past to a landslide victory in 2008.

According to the constitution, if you are born in the north and immigrate to the Confederacy, you can run for senator, governor, vice president and president. However, house members are dependent on the state which your district lies, with the deep south states requring proof of 2 or more generations within the south in order to be considered eligible for local offices and the house of representatives.

a. The tenure of a chancellor starts on their day of confirmation as Chancellor, and ends upon the termination of their position, be it by resignation, removal, or death.
b. The O'Neill government held a majority through C&S with the New England Independents, the Communists, and the Independent Group.
c. Like the O'Neill government, the Foley government also relied on C&S deals with the New England Independents, the Communists, and the Independent Group.
d. There was no formal opposition to President Kasich's appointment of Mattis as acting chancellor.
e. The Communist Party joined the Newsom government in 2029.
f. The Sununu government relied on the Independent Group for confidence and supply.
g. The second Buttigieg government relied on the Delta Party and the Independent Group for confidence and supply.

I've never met anything as fickle as wiki's lists

Oooooo this gives me an idea. If y'all'll excuse me for 17 years, I've got a bunch of wikiboxes and electoral maps to make. Don't worry, I'll only upload the maps if I can do that and upload the wikibox in different places.

This is rather ASB, but here's an election for my NationStates nation which is set on an earth with slightly alternate geography
