President Forever and other 270soft games Megathread

First game I won without editing it at all, and just... wow.

I didn't have to do any actual campaigning in the last 80 days. All I did was run ads.

Fit as a Bull Moose indeed, Peyton! Well done!

Feck off, Howard Schitz! You aren't gonna stop us from berning the establishment and restoring social democracy! For the Many, not the few!

I'm just surprised I got traditionally working class states like Ohio and Michigan rather than Schultz's home state, Washington.

And holy crap, there is a lot of Democratic Candidates. AOC, Obama, Bill Clinton, and Colbert to name a few of the outliers.

Wait, Alexandria-Ocasio Cortez is running for President? Dafuq?! She is not even 35 by 2019-2020 for her to be allowed to run! Does the game register it as a what-if scenario where age limits for the presidency was either never passed or removed? Same with Bill Clinton but without term limits?

Yeah, they are all what-if scenarios. They are also off by default, so you have to manually put it on. Same with GW running for the Republicans.

One can add literally anyone (or anything) as a candidate in this (very customizable) game.
I use a old pirated version of the Ericson edition, 2.4.9., so I am afraid I can't update to unlock a complete customizer as to do that I need to present an email which i purchased it with and I am not from an particularly affluent family, so I cannot afford it, and considering there are virtually zero torrents or cracks of this game anywhere on the internet no matter how hard I look, I guess I am stuck with this one, despite the fact it's so ridiculously easy to crack it that it is baffling one can ignore this game for so long.

Strangest game I've played. Played as Johnson. What did Bernie do to get the Mormons to vote Green?
And what on God's Green Earth happened that Bernie lost by such a bad margin to Trump of all people (Even his homestate of Vermont turned red in spite of the fact Burlington elected him when he was a unabashed socialist)?! I mean, Bernie is the most popular politician in the whole country by far and his policies are overwhelmingly popular among the American electorate according to Data for Progress, so barring an artificial reduction of his ingame traits such as leadership, honesty, ground, corruption, polling, fundraising, stamina, etc, this reeks of ASB.

Did the Green New York, Red Vermont and Blue Wall still standing give the ASB away?
Seriously though, If Bernie didn't manage the Democrat Coalition at least he would still have the Green vote.

>Inb4 over 10,000 North Carolinian ballots in the state are thrown out due to apparent electoral fraud and it flips to AOC after several weeks of contentious recounts ALA Bush V. Gore, this time without SCOTUS intervention, and in the end, the One-Eyed Reactionary loses.

Not trying to politicize the chat (I’m really not!) but calling a wounded war hero a “one eyed” whatever seems kinda...uncouth?

Otherwise though I’m almost 100% in agreement on the course of the timeline in such a scenario.

Al Gore/Ted Kenney vs Pat Robertson/Donald Rumsfeld

1988, started in the primaries with Dukakis and Bush off. On the GOP side, Robertson won IA and NH. Dole put up some resistance, but failed to stop Robertson from taking the nomination on the first round. Similarly, Jackson and Simon had pretty strong results, with Simon taking both IA and NH, but ultimately Gore carried the day. I then took the tickets and ported them over to the general. The result actually wasn't too different from what I got starting from the primaries, though. Map is also pretty realistic, all things considered. The 1988 scenario strikes me as one of the higher-quality ones.
