Spoiler: old challenge

Design a flag that uses food or a drink as it's main motif. It can be a state flag, naval ensign, flag of an organization, of a city, your call. However note that the flag must still be a proper design, and must follow the guidelines of flag making as close as possible(for example mind the contrast, keep the number of colors to a minimum, you know what i mean). Flags from fictional universes, established Alternate Timelines on this forum and any other source of inspiration are welcomed.

Redesign a flag of an IRL nation( or state, city, organization, etc) to resemble a falg which had some historical connection. For example a flag of France based on the Bourbon flag. The reason as to why they'd change it is up and may even be omitted. However you must include the flag you're basing your design upon. Also the influences must be at least noticeable.

The banner must, in some fashion, include or be obviously derived from the founding flag

Nation of Muskogee

Part of a 1996 news clipping:

William Bowles kept the support of the United Kingdom, whom would go onto supply the various peoples living in Muskogee (Florida). With greater support from his British backers, Bowles was able remove the Spanish in Florida and prevent the US from claiming Florida. In 1803 the US declined the purchase of the Louisiana Territory from France, not even taking the City of New Orleans. By the time of the War of 1811, the US was once again threating Muskogee. With the Napoleonic wars still ongoing, and the UK occupied, the US prosecuted “Madison’s War” to regain what they considered US territory. Unfortunately for the US, the war was not popular and the States actually found themselves in a vice between Muskogee and Canada. Then, u nexpectedly, Napoleon type in September 1811. With fear of more British troops being transported to North America a peace deal was sought with Muskogee, UK, and Canada.


During the American Civil War, Muskogee was known to accept fleeing slaves from the Confederated States of America. This actually got so bad that the CSA threatened war with Muskogee, but cooler heads prevailed, preventing the CSA fighting another war, especially with the chance of Britain coming to their ally’s defense…



Bicentennial Banner:

The banner was flown along with the national flag during the 1996 Bicentennial of Muskogee. While 1799 is referred to the founding of Muskogee by many historians, Muskogans themselves have always considered the voiding of the 1796 treaty between Spain and the United States, because it had ignored the Indians' sovereignty over Florida, as the original founding.

The banner consists of the sun emblem formed into dual comets that create the number 96, referencing the year 1796. The 96 is encircled in 20 ten pointed stars representing the 200 years of nationhood.

The nations can be real world or created by you, but should be plausible countries. No outright ASB nations please.

No literal translations of OTL flags.
While the flag should be based on a real world nation it should not be the Union Jack, Stars & Stripes, etc… just shifted to a different shape. Be creative, but plausible.

As many people are still on holiday, the new year is coming, and then many will be going back to school or work, I am extending the submission to January 7th.

Flag Challenge 201: Independence Day

Create a flag for a North or South American colonial nation which broke away from its mother country and has kept its independence to today.

Using any non-British original colony set up by a European country (OTL) in North or South America, show the flag that the nation rallied behind when fighting or negotiating their independence. Even the failed colonies of Germany and Italian are an option.

The Sanchan Regency (Regencia Sancxàna)
Sanchana has its origins in the Navarrese colonisation of the New World. Though it was never able to fully compete with the growing Porto-Leonese (later Spanish), Anglo-Irish, or even Lorrainian empires it was able to maintain its presence in the Grand Gulf with said territories forming La Tèrra de Sancxo and often governed as a viceroyalty.
The region first separated from Navarre when the kingdom was occupied by the United Republics of Spain leaving Sanchana as the home for the Navarrese Navy. During this period the naval flag of crossed chains on a red cross became strongly associated with Sanchana itself and following restoration Raimon V instituted crossed chains on a fully red field as the naval ensign.
The second and final separation began as the Sanchan Viceroyalty grew at odds with the rise of racial nationalism in Europe having developed a strongly pragmatic approach to the idea of race, given its large indigenous and former slave minorities had produced a majority multiracial population, and strong ties with the postcolonial Anglo-Irish League of Regencies and Empire of Cinnabar. Its Government formally declared independence in 1949 replacing the red cross and chains on the flag with a black cross and coins - a gold coin on black featuring on the Civil Arms of New Bayonne.

Flag for the Behörde für die menschlichen Art und planetarische Siedlungen (Authority for the Human Species and the Planetary Settlements). The BfmAupS is a goverment organization of the
Erdgemeinschaft (The Earth's Commomwealth), responsible for safeguarding the purity of humankind, and formulate and implement the genetical, the xenical and the extraterrestrial settlements policy of the Erdgemeinschaft. It's infamous for its criminal actions again aliens and even some humans being. The white means 'purity' and its mote is German by ''Keeping the purity of Humankind''.

Brief history:

The BfmAupS is the evolution from the RuSHA, a branch of the Schutzstaffel whose expande its duty after the Axis victory and the establishment of a world government, under the Globale Autorität der Erdgemeinschaft, the Global Authority of the Commonwealth of Earth.

In a first step, ruled by Nobel Award winner, Josef Mengele, the RuSHA reformulated the main theses on racial classification and its hierarchy, and it was integrated at the Reichsministerium des Innern (RMI; Reich Ministry of Interior).

With the ended of Globale Gleichschaltung ('world co-ordination'), the office expanded its competencies to the whole world. Finally, with the development of interstellar technology and contact with alien races, it went on to concentrate the tasks related to interxenic politics and settlements on extrasolar planets, as an autonomous department, only dependent on the Globalführer.

Your challenge, you should decide to accept it , is create a flag for a world state. May be a democratic Federation, a totalitary Empire, a fundamentalist Theocracy, or that you like, but it rule over the entiry Earth. Can not use a map in the flag (sorry, I hate it!!!!)

Humanity has always been authoritarian, obedience to authority a survival trait. Aeons of civilised evolution however have tempered that to obedience of worthy authority, leading to much contention over the definition of "worthy".
Though the Global War against the Eugenicists had broken the Allied Directorates of the West and lead to the Atomic Horror [1], its brand of ideal authoritarianism allowing individual competition had survived. Augmentation itself was considered fair game in this competition but most balked at engineering a Master Race - if the prize was mastery why deliberately raise that out of your reach?
Zephram Cochrane was no different to his fellows at playing the game. Though only a minor commander in the UDA forces during the War, the AH and fragmentation of the UDA had elevated him to Governor of what remained of Montana and its facilities, including the local NASA Research Station where he had been stationed. Though it took him 20odd years he had perfected his warp technology ready for testing, then use to show his fitness as a worthy Authority. Of the World if need be. The maiden flight went well and he obtained plenty of information on Earth's functional facilities to begin his conquests. He was totally surprised when his planning session was interrupted by aliens.
The Volkans, as they called themselves [2], had spotted his warp signature on a routine survey mission, scouting out potential resources. Though technologically inferior Earth offered one valuable resource - an easy source of labour. Zephram was free to offer a guarantee of this, in return for the tools to expand his empire and clean up Earth.
He was soon to realise the Volkans, though technologically superior, were more emotionally volatile and thence divided amongst themselves much as the old human nations were with most resembling the pirate or privateer companies, and as such he learned to play them off each other while still technically a vassal. The visit of an envoy from the combine T'Rhaan-thu [3] proved a turning point. They held similar ideals of authority as a way to focus their emotions and were willing to admit Earth, under Cochrane, as a full member. Within a decade Cochrane was sole Authority of the T'Rhaan-thu and had vassalised the remaining Volkan companies: The Terran Imperium was born.

In a history where the United States never revolted, and the two sides reached a set of concessions culminating in the election of Americans to the British House of Parliament-- the interests of Britain were more and more tied to the Western Hemisphere as a greater proportion of its population resided in North America. Britain saw less of a need to spread its wings towards the South Pacific. The new colony of Australia was never settled, with the promise of better, more fertile lands to the West in America. The Bourbon Kings of France, seeking an answer to the issues caused by overpopulation within France, sent an expedition led by a dashing young officer by the name of Joachim Murat to explore Australia and report on opportunities for settlement there. To some extent exaggerating the fecundity of the soil, Joachim Murat sent word of an entire continent ripe for settlement, with weak natives and ample land for settlement.

In 1792, a fleet of thirty ships left France heading for OTL Sydney. In charge of the expedition was Joachim Murat, who became well known for his daring tales of heroics within the French Court and was considered highly by King Louis as an expert on Australia. The colonists established la-Prosperite and quickly began establishing a large presence in the region, building a harbor and beginning the creation of several other settlements in the area of OTL Melbourne.

Alarmed by the growth of French power in the region and viewing it as a precursor to ramp up efforts across the South Pacific, especially in India, Great Britain made moves to secure its own allies within the region. In 1795, Britain sent a naval envoy under Captain James Cook to make sustained contact with the Maori tribes inhabiting New Zealand with whom he had met on his first voyage some twenty years previous. The aging officer, carrying a cargo of muskets, made contact at the same time as an expansionist chief had taken control of a small federation of tribes. Taking the name of the mythical hero, Maui, this chief had extended his control across the tip of the North Island. Seeing a possibility of stemming French interest in New Zealand, Cook remained in New Zealand, helping to seal Maui’s control of the entire North Island and soon extending his control over the south through the use of the modern Western equipment provided by Captain Cook. By 1810, Maui had established control over the entirety of New Zealand.

Understanding the impossibility of defending against a French invasion of his kingdom, in 1815 Maui and a new British minister, Arthur Wodeville signed the treaty of Taruanga, which established the new kingdom as under the protection of the British State. This flag, with references to the Maori conception of Father Sky and Mother Earth symbolized the islands of what they called Aotearoa. The six stars symbolize the five tribes of Maui’s original tribal confederation, surrounding him as the largest star in the middle.

Christian States of America (1867 - ?)
In this universe the American Civil War causes much more casualties leading to the already divided nation being plagued by new sentiments of separatism fueled by various extremist ideologies. Though the Civil War ends with the independence of the South from the Union, the wave of wartime horrors, the lack of relief from the government causes the south to split between the east and west. Similiar would happen between the Union states of the east and California later. However the Christian States of America, also simply known as the Christendom seceded, comprised of Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. As the people lost faith in a secularized society they turned back to the church, which gladly took over the power and orchestrated a coup and the eventual secession. The secession inspired separatist factions across the Union which began to crack in the coming decades. To ensure popularity, all christian religiouns were unified under the Southern Church, which didn't actually mean anything in practice as people still saw themselves as part of their own faith (e.g. a catholic and a protestant would be seen by the state as members of the Southern Church, though neither would see the other as having the same faith). Although the nation did become less of a theocracy and more secularized in latter decades, religion was still regarded as important by it's citizens. The position closest to a president, the High Pontiff, would keep it's name even after the church lost most of it's power.
The flag features 5 stars for the 5 member states and a cross protected by 4 lines symbolizing the christian religion which needs to be protected. The red, blue white colors are derrived from both the USA and CSA flags

Flag Challenge 206: Real flags have curves

In this challenge you are to redesign a flag of your choice so that it features any curvy paterns(circles, waves, swirls etc.). The only condition is it must be flag that has been historically used by a state, administrative division, city or even organization. Including a link to the original flag for reference is recommended. You don't need to provide a backstory for the reason of the redesign, but if you do, it should not deviate too much from OTL (i.e. the H.R.E. changed its flag because it became a republic; this would be considered too much).
