Η Δημοκρατία της Νέας Ελλάδας:New Greece in the new world

Good maps, altough i would advise you to do less "liny" borders, as they can be a little strange (and a little too much irrealistic)

Yeah I know
I’m trying to get better at it but at the same time if I don’t show subdivisions people complain about space filling empires so it feels like I can’t please no one

Also thanks for the compliment
:)

The subdivisions bit is comprehensible (my tip is to use OTL borders, much easier than creating a new one), my major comment was about the international ones, that tend to be not that much linear (its plausible if they are completely arbritary ones, like in Africa and the Middle East)

I’m thinking of changing them eventually however for right now they will fit

In this timeline most of the borders in Africa are made ten times worse due to collective grumbling between everyone and their mother over borders

South America is much the same but it’s mostly due to various strong men attempting their own regimes on the continent

The Promise
The Promise is an old Helot tale dating back to the year 1838 when the first Helots would move to the new world
Settlement was fast and people arrived in droves to the Republic of New Hellas but with this came a threat to the native peoples of the Nestus River(Louisiana basin) When settlers first arrived in the province of Capodica the Choctaw natives seemed unbothered and cordial with the settlers. After all perhaps the Greeks would be kinder to the natives then the Ottomans were.Trade deals were established and relations were friendly between the two peoples. This all changed when a translation issue between Aindrea Dimitri Stavoplos and Atepa of the Choctaw over the exchange of a pelt Stavoplos intially offered the deal at a uneven trade.Atepa accepted barely but when Dimiriti left afterwards he was offended and took it as an insult. When Dimitri returned and attempted to negotiate again Atepa was offended by what he assumed was a out right denial of any further trade and an insult. In reality had been a minor word slip his English was less then polished and he had said something relating to this mans mother.Atepa was angered by this and followed him home eventually and a fight erupted between the two and the settlers were all awoken.Mobs grew angered and captured the Atape A court was established trying to give him a trial which summarily called for him to be executed

The Promise part two
After the Execution of Atape the Choctaw were quick to find out attempts to make peace were squandered by a young man by the name of Talako. Immediately after the death of Atape he gathered a few young men of the tribe and sent them towards the settlement of Apollo. They burst through the village on horseback burning all of the crops and destroying a local small settler church. The people eventually calmed the fires and buried the 9 people who were killed by the fire.Eventually Theodoros Kolokotronis even though he was no longer President was called in to negotiate with the help of American diplomat Philip Hamilton. The elderly man rode his horse "Apollo" into the villiage after calming and assuring the people that he would resolve this.Weapons were raised as he entered the Choctaw village. He walked forwards into the village striding as per usual Red helmet trailing behind.According to some when he crossed a line that the village marked a young man was startled and fired an arrow at the Consul it is a helot tale that he caught the arrow and when he caught it the young man told him to kneel. Theodoros looked at the young man and said "I kneel only to god"Before walking towards the chief's hut as the young man stood there dumbfounded. Koliktronis continued into the village until he found none other then Talako himself. The elderly consul sat with the young man and they discussed their lives,The discussion came to a halt between the two when Philip Hamilton entered the village and the discussion between the two began. Talako was aggressive with the men at first talking about how they were destroying their land and the white man did nothing to prevent this and asked for something back in return. Koliktronis was surprisingly amicable with the young man but Talako was having none of it saying that the only thing that could return the unjustice to his people was through blood and would not negotiate and that his people would fight for their land. Koliktronis sighed and did everything he could to try and calm the fire in this young mans heart before a solution dawned upon him.He would give the young man the fight he wished for but not in the way he desired.

As he stared down this young man Koliktronis made a promise to Talako

"We shall battle like none other has before under two conditions if i am victorious your people will leave and i ensure you that they shall be escorted by only the finest of Helot soldiers to whatever new home they find"The old man sighed before speaking again"And if i am to lose you claim this land for your people eternally" Talako initially nearly attacked Koliktronis before the chieftain told him to fight for his people and not for himself. Talako reluctantly agreed to this proposal and the duel and stage was set for the promise that would shape a century

And a free map of oceania :)

I personally prefer the flag with the cross at the bottom, however, the first option would be my second choice.

@Calbertbreastpeach I like these flags, but they seem a little, well, nationalistic. Especially the colors descriptions, which seem to be about Greek/Hellenic people...
I mean, I’m not calling you out for suprematism. But i need some context.

I’m sorry I was trying to continue the sort of history of flags dealing with a people’s history

I didn’t mean for it to come off as that at all

I didn’t want to use the base greek flag either
