So, for now that'll be it for flags.
Mostly because:
1. I want to work on Africa and Borneo
2. This is mostly a question for @Oryxslayer: Will Mediterranean/Mussolinist socialism survive to the present, or will they suffer the fate of OTLs USSR? After all, it's reasonable that Mussolini becomes like Stalin, becoming more authoritarian. After all, IOTL he wanted to do the same when he was a Socialist. After he's dead, he would leave a massive power vacuum, and there would be a scramble for power to become premier, sending Italy into chaos. Even if there isn't a civil war, Italy would be in shambles. Or, maybe reform happens and the socialist nations become more democratic socialist.

- Africa may have boundaries that are on tribal lines, but that doesn't mean that it's better off than OTL. European colonizers would still treat Africans horribly, warlords would still take power, etc...
- Sub-saharan Africa and Borneo are mostly random, but once we flesh these areas of the world out, this may change. Don't think this is fixed. This can change once we figure out each nation.
- Mediterranean nations may/may not be socialist in the present. This may change if we(Oryxslayer) decide that these nations democratize. If they are still socialist, while they may reform, they won't be perfect democracies.
- No Putin=Better Russia. simple.
- South Africa probably turns out like OTL, relatively free and powerful in Africa. Senegal and Congo, same deal.

I have a QBAM. Is this accurate enough?
Sarawak is independent from Malaya, and so is Malacca, who formed a union with Singapore. Aceh, Batak (Between Aceh and Sumatra, named for the ethnic group that lives there), Sumatra, Bali, various Bornean states, the Moluccas, and Timor are Independent from Java. Thus, no Indonesia. Sabah is part of the Philippines.
I don't see why Lanfang would be resurrected hundreds of years after its demise.

After looking at this, I'm drawing up a new map.
This should just be Pontianak, since it would totally try and gain land from another sultanate. I just don't think that Lanfeng would survive, since it depended on the Qing dynasty back when it was around.
So, for right now, this is what we have for Borneo:
1. Sultanate of Pontianak
2. Sultanate of Bulungan
3. Sultanate of Kutai
the grey regions are as of yet still unnamed.
Here's my suggestions:
Large eastern state: Sultanate of Banjar
Western small state: Sultanate of Tanjungpura
Eastern small state: Sultanate of Kotawaringin
The third one i'm not sure of, and even the second one is one the fence since the Sultanate is ancient, however Tanjungpura has historically been a major trading center and port, so...
