Just one thing about Minnesota: I'm thinking that the Deutschpartei should also be in the political system.
But other than that go ahead.
I was thinking that the Gopher's party would sort of be like that but more populist, protectionist and Trump-style. You can have a go at a Minnesota party system if you want though.
Someone really wanted Louisiana, so I whipped this up while listening to Ford.
Also, here is a OTL African map. Not all 35%'s are equal of course - those along the Lower Mississippi, or in urban areas are OTL Dem seats, but those in the north are OTL Rep ones. Also of course certain racial /ethnic areas are different in this timeline, but I am going to have one of these accompany each Southern state from now on.

I'll gradually work through the claimed states creating FPTP maps for it, then you'll come up with a party system.
Ethnic Map
I'll repost the ethnic map. Alaska is a very diverse state with a very bare plurality Asian Population which goes Asian>White>>Native>>Slavic Jews who migrated after Russia became a nationalistic republic in the 1870s. Anchorage is also a little smaller then OTL, to transfer pop to the Slavic areas, to represent the migrants.
I'm probably heading west with my maps next week so I'll do it, Oregon, and Franklin then. This is after some wikibox posts though.

Party Rossiya: Representing the Slavic community. Frequently a kingmaker in Alaskan politics. Big tent. Frequently accused of being a member of True North in all but name.
True North: the leading party in Alaska, and the natural governing party. A big-tent party fairly similar in nature to Barisan Nasional in Malaysia. It stubbornly sticks to the mild center-left overall, but people of all ideological positions are welcome. Members are:
Alaska Asian Alliance: "triple A", represents Asians
Alaska Native Association: represents Natives
Anglo League: represents Anglos
United Alaska Party: the right-wing opposition. Rarely gets its hands on power.
Socialist Party: represents the most left-wing opposition. Tries to make headway among the Slavs in particular, but to no avail. Trade union support is often bereft for them as well.
Alaska Independence Party: a bunch of loons who rarely get more than one seat.
