Yet New Orleans goes for the Republican?
I basically made up that backstory on the spot, I honestly didn't think out the map beyond it just being a massive Republican landslide set sometime in the 20s. In reality if it was discovered that the Democratic candidate had any kind of relationship with a black woman (sexual or otherwise) I assume there would be some sort of Dixiecrat revolt with either a third party or Unpledged electors taking the Deep South, unless the GOP candidate is really willing to use a proto-Southern Strategy.

No Madrid Train Bombings in 2004, meaning that People’s Party doesn’t have a controversy after their poor response and public blaming of Basque Nationalists for the deaths rather than the Spanish Islamists who actually committed the acts.

On October 28, 1819, an election was held in Alabama to elect two Upper Courtiers. Four candidates ran for election, but only two (dedicated Yorkists Walker and King) got enough traction to have any chance at victory. Unaffiliated candidate Crabb did fairly well, placing second in three northern counties, while Yorkist candidate Phillips only broke 7% of the vote in Autauga County. There was no vote held in Mobile due to Florida happening to be there at the time, nor was there any in Marengo due to the courthouse being occupied.

John W. Walker (Yorkist) - 48.08%
William R. King (Yorkist) - 39.33%

Thomas D. Crabb - 8.98%
George W. Phillips (Yorkist) - 3.61%

Arguably, Hoover ran on a proto-Southern Strategy in 1928 as it was.

Yazoo is a heartland state of the Democratic party, being a typical Deep Southern state with a solid orange legislature. However in recent years new parties have popped up which threatened their dominance.

The state of Yazoo was hit hard by the Second Great Depression as the state had many fledgling industries which were snuffed out by this economic disaster. To help mitigate this crisis the Democrats lowered taxes on manufacturing companies and raised the limits on unemployment insurance, in return for cutting farm subsidies and raising the state's sale tax. The two latter items hurt the state's farmers especially hard, and in combination with a rough harvest this move forced over 90% of family farms in Yazoo to file for bankrupt and lose their land. With tens of thousands of families now forced out on the streets, penniless and homeless, the idea of socialism no longer seemed as taboo as it once was in this Dixie state. As such the Christian Farmers' Alliance was formed in 2012, with an explicitly Christian socialist message that echoed the one of the Patriotic Socialists in Sequoyah, that is one of land redistribution from the rich to the poor.

In combination with the Labor party on the left, and the Constitution and KKK on the right, the Democrats were feeling the squeeze like never before and it seemed as though their majority might for the first time since the Conservative Revolution be challenged. Alas, for the rest of the parties in Yazoo, in the 2016 the Democrats managed to surge in strength on the populist wave that shook the country, ensuring themselves a two thirds majority.

As such, for the 2018 election things once again seemed to be nothing more than Democratic dominance as had been the case for all of history. However, in late 2017 a massive shocker came out when the Governor of Yazoo, Stewart Moore, was discovered to have molested multiple high school girls over the course of several decades. After many debates back on forth over whether or not these allegations had any validity the law finally spoke when federal investigators found significant evidence of Stewart Moore's crimes, resulting in his arrest and subsequent replacement by Robert J. Bentley, who was Moore's right hand man and had served as Lieutenant Governor. However, Bentley too was soon found guilty of sexual misconduct, though of a lesser degree since he only had an extramarital affair with a campaign staffwoman, an affair which was then covered up using campaign finance resources. Having now run through two governors guilty of sexual crimes the Democrats decided to do the unthinkable and put forward a woman for the position of governor instead, Kay Ivey.

With all these scandals and a new female governor the odds seemed stack against the Democrats, with many pundits thinking that 2018 would finally be the election which puts the Democrats under the 93 needed for a majority. Yet despite all these odds the inertia of the Democratic party proved to be just too much, and the party only ended up losing 22 seats, leaving them with 103, well over the required number for a majority.

So, as always, Yazoo remains under the iron grip of the Democratic party, just this time with a female governor.

Government:
Democrats - The ruling party of Yazoo since time immemorial, which is either 1972 or 1828 depending on whether or not one has classified the National Union party of Yazoo as just a continuation of the Democratic party of old, their hold over the state has become more and more tenuous in recent years. The massive sex scandals of 2017 and 2018 have also not helped the party as more and more people start to become ashamed of supporting the Democratic party. Yet this election has proven that the institutional strength of the Democratic party in Yazoo runs deep and is unlikely to end anytime soon.

Opposition:
Black Baptist Bloc - A party for rural, religious, and conservative African-Americans as in most Deep Southern states the Black Baptist Bloc stands as the leader of the opposition. However, with just under 23% of the state being African-American the possibility of the Black Baptist Bloc ever managing to take over the Democrats is a mathematical impossibility. While the BBB still hopes for the day when enough Democrats leave the party for Labor, that dream is little more than a pie in the sky.
Constitution - The main right wing opposition to the Democrats they gained fairly significant numbers from the scandals of the Democratic party, rising from 11 seats to 17 seats in this years' election. However the party has still been unable to sway enough voters in this rather impoverished state that relies heavily on the welfare schemes set up by the Democrats.
Labor - The social democratic party of Yazoo, their base is based in cities among both left leaning African-Americans, whites, and other minorities. While the party was able to double its seat total in this election to a total of 16, this is still far below the levels of support Labor had prior to 2016.
Christian Farmers' Alliance - A Christian socialist which was founded to support small time farmers who we become homeless following the Democrats' harsh policies, the party has expanded over time to include more and more poor whites, particularly in rural areas. With 38.4% of the state still remaining below the poverty line the gospel of socialism has continued to steadily gain ground as the CFA preaches the "true words" of Jesus Christ. However, just like with the Patriotic Socialists of Sequoyah the CFA remains socially conservative and undeniably racist, though not to same degree.
Ku Klux Klan - A complete fringe organization in 90% of the states of America, here in the heart of Democratic country the KKK has managed to gain enough supporters to be able to get some seats in the state legislature. Having reached their peak of 5 seats in the last election, in this election they lost one seat as the populist surge of 2016 has started to die down, though it is still above the two or three seats the wizards would get prior to 2016.

Do all states use the same voting system? If so, what is it? If not, what are they? My best guess is either STV or party-list proportional.

Yeah, after the Conservative Revolution of 1972 all states' lower houses were mandated to use proportional representation, though they were allowed to have some of the districts be one seaters in the case of rural areas, which means that these legislatures are basically just a mix of PR and FPTP. But for the states' upper houses, pretty much anything goes as long as everyone gets an equal vote, though even this last rule can be bent in some special cases, such as in Alaska, New Hampshire, and Western Connecticut.

Ah good. Something that isn't yet another US Presidential.
So how does this affect the performance of that party going forward?

I'm pretty shocked in general at the strength of state borders. It looks like Fairfield County's connections to the rest of Connecticut, and Connecticut's connections to Rhode Island and Western Mass. outweigh Fairfield's unexpectedly weak connections to New York City. Perhaps it has something to do with Fairfield being mostly commuters who work in the city but don't really build social ties there?
Especially Louisiana's, apparently.

Prime Minister Rajoy proves to be a mediocre leader turning his four years in office from 04-08. After 12 years of the Peoples’ Party ruling the Spanish Government the people are ready for a change from conservatism and the Socialist Workers Party wins in 2008 by a bigger margin than in OTL.

I combined the best statewide Democratic performance in each state's history into one map. I only used elections where the Democrat either faced a Republican or a third party/third parties that got at least 10% of the vote. I also obviously only used the ones I could find county data for, so this may not be definitive but it's pretty close, for Alaska I couldn't find County-Equivelant data so I colored the whole state D>70, for the 1966 Senate election which the Democrat won by a margin of 75-25. only 48 counties go Republican here, less than half the number of counties George McGovern won in his historic landslide defeat... I'll also be doing the same map for the best Republican statewide performances at some point.
