Map of the Fortnight: Main Discussion Thread

I have two ideas:
  1. Ashes, Ashes, We All Fall Down: Make a map of the world that has gone straight to hell with civil wars, conflicts between nations, genocide, ethnic cleansing, and revolutions across every part of the world are happening all at once.
  2. I Have Become Death, The Destroyer of Worlds: Show a map of a nation that is armed with nuclear weapons and/or other WMDs.

I want to nominate these as well.

Since I couldn't really decide between the four, by the roll of a dice I'm seconding I have become Death... for your consideration

I dove back into some previous pages because there's some forgotten ideas back there worth re-mentioning...
  • You Never Know Where You Stand - Make a map of a neutral nation.
  • Why They Changed It I Can't Say - Make a map featuring a city which has recently been renamed.
  • An Alternate Alternate - Make a map from an alternate timeline to an alternate timeline.
  • Why is the World In Love Again? (It's a Brand New Record for 1990) - Make a map of a flood.
  • The Eye of the Tiger - Make a map that shows a rivalry.
...
And then these because, well, Because.
  • Cause the Players Gonna Play, Play, Play, Play, Play - Make a map of the major players in a regional/global power dynamic
  • And the Haters Gonna Hate, Hate, Hate, Hate, Hate - Make a map of two or more entities that are considered enemies
  • Baby, I'm Just Gonna Shake, Shake, Shake, Shake, Shake - Make a map of a seismic event
  • Shake it Off, Shake it Off - Make a map depicting a surprising rebound from some kind of great calamity

.

Making The Best Of An Awkward Situation - Make a map of a place, project or other endeavor that has been abandoned by the group that started it.

New threads are up! Since this is going up on a Monday, the entry period for MotF 184 will also run through the Monday of that week. MotF 185 will go up on the Sunday prior, if possible, to get back on track.

MotF 183: The Lotus Eaters - Voting Thread
MotF 184: In Varietate Concordia - Entry Thread

So 185 will start the day before 184 ends?

Oh and btw, I am *so* down for 184. I've had an idea that's been sort of bouncing around my head for a while now, but hasn't had an outlet.

.

I will also be trying to make a map for this contest, although it will be my first attempt and I don't know how well it will go given how little free time I have. Also, I hope that I don't have the same idea as someone else (because it's not anything super crazy), but even if I do, who cares?:p

Go for it! Everyone starts somewhere! :)

Correct!

Looking forward to seeing it! :)

Congratulations to @Reagent for winning MotF 183 with his entry, "Ordensstaat Gotenland"!

We have one entry already for MotF 184, and I gather there are a couple others in the pipeline, so it's time to be thinking about topics for MotF 185! This will be another POD-specific round, and here are some options to consider:
  • The Bonnie Red Flag - Make a map depicting the outcome of a socialist or communist revolution in an independent CSA. POD must be between 1860 and 1865.
  • Case Green - Make a map set in a timeline where the Munich Agreement did not take place and WWII broke out over Czechoslovakia in 1938.
  • Sailed The Ocean Blue - Make a map set in a timeline where Ferdinand and Isabella decline to fund Columbus’s expeditions in 1492.
