DA, please allow me to thank you once again for your Good Work on these Presidential wiki-boxes (and chuckle as one imagines President Semmes' face on seeing his Naval Rank given as "Master Chief Petty Officer").

Thank you. I actually made the President Semmes and President Blackford wikiboxes a long time ago, I just posted them here for the sack of continuity.

Nice work. I like how you have him married to Miss Margaret Gist in 1888 ;) I presume a relation of States Rights Gist, former President of CSA of this timeline?
Actually, I just used information from this forum for this. And in regards to State Rights Gist, I decided to deviate from the original list of CS Presidents and created me own.

Ah, I remember now.

I've seen your work on your deviantArt account before, Dutch_Atlantic_13.

Can't say that I concur with your choice of Featherston, but I admire your passion for uploading these biograph boxes on here.

Keep up the good work.

Thank you. In regards to my choice for Featherston, the image of Goebbels was very common and I couldn't find a good alternative.

DA_13, please allow me to compliment you on doing a very excellent job of work with these info-boxes; would you object if I were to use "Ophelia Wyatt Mitchel" in any future biographical articles on "Simple Mitch" himself? (I rather like the name, as it fits neatly with the tone one associates with CS President Mitchel - a man possessed with an occasionally overpowering sense of his own Dignity).:)

If one may suggest a small improvement to the information given above, I would like to suggest that you switch out Theodore G. Bilbo as Vice President; from what I can gather about the man, he's too blatantly a race-baiting populist and scandal-ridden to suit President Mitchel (indeed I believe Bilbo has been identified as a Freedom Party member in this thread already, which makes sense given his membership of the KKK in Our Own timeline; I tend to equate membership of the KKK in our History with membership of the Freedom Party in timeline-191), who is far more likely to prefer a more distinguished nonentity of unimpeachable respectability - if only to reassure Admirers that his deeply questionable candidacy in 1927 is not an outright criminal enterprise!

I've been looking through the Democratic candidates in 1928 (our timeline) and the most plausible alternative would appear to be Senator Pat Harrison - another native of Mississippi, but one who appears to have been the candidate of the Upper Classes and a more respectable figure than Bilbo (with whom he would appear to have nourished a Rivalry). He is also noted as having been a most loquacious man, which would undoubtedly help sell the less-articulate Mitchel.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pat_Harrison - more information may be found at the other end of this link.

N.B. This pick is intended to compliment your own idea of Vice-President Bilbo; I am not yet certain who my own "draft pick" for Mitchel's VP will be, but the front-runners are Mr Richard C. Watts of South Carolina (a justice of the South Carolina Supreme Court in our own timeline) and Mr Duncan U. Fletcher of Florida (the longest-serving senator in that State's history and a man apparently trusted by President Wilson with a number of positions).

Both are older men, both East Coast and neither seems likely to overshadow Mitchel* - I am inclined to prefer Mr Fletcher, since his connection with Wilson in Our History allows us to spin him as an olive branch to the "Wilson Whigs" (the more progressive wing of the Party) from the "Stonewall Whigs" (the social and financial conservatives assembled around Mitchel), but one acceptable to Mitchel by dint of his seniority and their shared service in the CS Senate.

*My take on Mitchel is a man who would want a competent subordinate ready to step into his place, but might place a little too much emphasis on subordination at times (not quite to the extent of surrounding himself with Yes-men by choice).

I decided to transcribe some audio from Call of Duty: Finest Hour and give it a "TL-191" twist to it. Yeah, I know, it's cheesy and I added a few speculation ideas but it's entertaining to me.

Narrator-Dionysius Allstates:
Europe, 1941. King Charles XI, Czar Michael II, and Mosley's ruthless quest to extend their nation's borders has their people at war with the world. The mobilization of armies by Germany and Greater Austria prove no deterrent as the Entente Powers invade their European neighbors from the East and West, while extending their reach toward Central Europe. By June, France's lightning war to soften Germany is launched and Ottoman Turkey increases production of oil, racing to aide their allies. By late June, the battle for Eastern Europe is on, as Guderian's Imperial German troops arrive in Poland. On the North American theater, an impatient Featherston breaks his pact with the Americans. Smith responds with a scorched earth policy, intent on leaving only ruins for the Confederate Freedom invaders, but one by one, his cities fall. Now, in 1942, massive Confederate air raids commence against Pittsburgh and the battle for this noble city turns vicious. The American Army refuses to retreat and a counteroffensive is launched against the force that now stretches from the Atlantic to the Pacific and deep into the Ohioan plains. Against impossible odds, millions come forward to answer the call of their countries, their families, their lives.

Private Alexander Falconer:
"My name is Alexander Falconer. I thought I was safe. As a watchmaker's apprentice, I would learn the business, then open a shop of my own. Maybe get married, have children, start a life. But now, our cities are under attack and Pittsburgh will put and end to those dreams. We should have known the Confederates would turn on us. Break the Agreement; They have no honor. The Commissioners rounded us up so quickly speaking of the nation, the sacrifice of our brothers, our duty! I am only 20, but I am ready to fight to the death. The sight of my home Pittsburgh infuriates me. It is as if Hell itself were burning..."

Commissioner Victor Durand:
“Welcome to Pittsburgh. You are about to begin the greatest moment of your lives. The Confederates have lost hundreds of barrels and planes. Featherston’s brutalized hordes are now advancing toward Pittsburgh over mountains of their own dead bodies. Our Socialist Party, our nation, our great country, have given us the task not to let the enemy reach Philadelphia and to defend the city of Pittsburgh. Forward against the enemy! Up into the unremitting battle, comrades, for Pittsburgh, for our great country! Not one step back! Cowards and traitors will be shot! Do not count days, do not count miles, count only the number of Confederates you have killed. Kill the Confederate- this is the cry of your mother’s prayer. Kill the Confederate- this is the cry of your American soil. Do not waver! Do not let up! Kill! DEATH TO THE CONFEDERATE INVADER!!!"
