Wow! I already edited the introduction of an article, yes, but a whole lengthy Wiki article? Also, how do you screenshot this? Or is this on your sandbox or so?

I believe I have 4-6 full wiki articles written and posted. If you use Firefox, you can right-click and take a screenshot. I use that and then go into Photoshop and do the rest of the things I need to.

Holy Shit, I just realised Brooklyn and NYC lie in different timezones.... I can't even begin to imagine how frustrating that must be!! :p

Except November to April when New York and New Jersey fall back to UTC-4. New England Standard (UTC-4) is maintained year round for every province. Informally, most people in Brooklyn and Croydon County just use New York time. Same with lower Fairfield County, CT. Most cell carriers give residents in this part of New England the option of switching their phone times to New York time.

this is one thing that probably makes more sense to change in the timeline, unless there is a reason for two differing timeszones. More ultra-urbanized zones that cross geographic or local administrative time borders - like El Paso and Chicago have harmonized metro timezones. It is an incredible hassle for commuters to live in a different time zone then their job, and one would question why the local authority hasn't tried to Harmonize it yet.

Idk, I can see stubborn New English Politicians refusing to change the timezone in part of the country. We had the same thing in Interbellum Belgium where the tiny piece of land not occupied by the Germans during WWI stubbornly refused to give up GMT and join the rest of Belgium in the "German Timezone" until the Germans made them chance it in WWII :p And as Kanan has just stated, most people in the Border Area observe American Time anyway.

First, a huge huge thanks to the Q-BAM team for all the hard work they did and the folks who submitted various historical patches that I needed to use, and @Skallagrim for the colour scheme, I'm super happy with how this came out.

So here it is, a world map with (some) subdivisions marked. I plan on doing more work in the future, but for now this is all I have, and it shows the state of the entire world, as I currently have it envisioned. I triple-checked, and both the population wikibox and the world map do align, so every country is accounted for in both this post and the previous post.

Is much of the Arabian peninsula communist? Who governs India and Turkey?

Also, how is the situation in the former(?) East Bloc - which nations belong(ed?) to it and what has become of the area between the Baltic, Black and Mediterranean Seas?

So the best way to address this is to think of New England as having a similar mentality to say, Turkey in regards to Mustafa Kemal or the United States in regards to George Washington. The founder is immortalised and their words are taken to be gospel, no matter what. In this case, the first Prime Minister (Daniel Webster) holds such a high regard in New England and his drive for nationalism, that it would be seen as an insult to move even a part of the province over to Eastern time, and the nightmare of trying to apply DST to two counties of one province in a different timezone. Sure, it really, really sucks for the people there. But at the same time, Long Island's government is in Southampton, so they don't particularity give a damn if Brooklynites are a bit confused with the time changes. While a large portion of the population is in the western side of the island, it's never really a political issue (except when a city tries to make a change, and then Boston gets all huffy and slaps them down with a copy of the constitution and shoves a flag down their throat).

None of the Arabian peninsula is Communist. India is governed b a Hindu nationalist, and Turkey already has a wikibox. Check the threadmarks.

The Eastern Bloc was the Baltic states (annexed to the USSR), Poland (communist government), Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania. East and West Bulgaria existed for a time, then the East Bulgarian government collapsed when Khrushchev decided it wasn't worth it.

The Republic of Poland is the 4th largest country in Europe and the 20th largest economy in the world. The country's modern independence stems from the end of the Great War, where the former German territories of Greater Poland, Upper Silesia, and the Polish Corridor were merged with the Russian Congress Poland and Austrian Western Galicia. The brief Polish-Soviet War of 1919 affirmed Poland's control of the eastern Voidvoships.

During the Presidency of Stanisław Głąbiński, Poland entered into a military alliance with Germany to launch the joint German-Polish invasion of the Soviet Union, which resulted in the collapse of the Polish War Effort by 1946 due to the communist insurgency in the state. The Union of Socialist Polish Voivodeships (soon renamed simply the Socialist Republic of Poland) was formed in 1948 with the Declaration of Łódź, and the group quickly consolidated control and declared an end to the strife in late 1949. Poland was the only communist country in eastern Europe to have come to power without a Soviet invasion, and historically stood against Soviet domination of her Communist puppets, notably forging relations with the post-Civil War nationalist government of Germany.

Good! No holocaust and seemingly, no other genocide has been committed on Jews (at least in Poland)! That's good!

Were there any genocides in the 20th century TTL? What was the worst war crime/crime against humanity ITTL?

The Jewish population of Europe is intact, although many have migrated to other parts of the world (Israel, North America, other European nations, aka anywhere not in the Soviet Union)

South Africa. Anyone not A) White or B) Coloured and C) not in a Bantustan is liable to be rounded up and brought to a Concentration Camp. The South Africans got this lovely idea from the British (see: Boer Wars) and is employed by the South African government liberally. Everything south of the D.R. of the Congo is considered to be in a humanitarian crisis because of the ethnic cleansing (1940s - present) by the South African regime.

That's of course a notable and horrible crime against humanity, but true genocides? Well-done if you avoided any!

Why have they migrated?

MLB (Baseball), IBA (Basketball), Soccer in New England, New England college sports wikiboxes
Any chance hockey is gonna be covered at some point?

Also id be lying if i said i wasnt a lil sad that not one of the prime ministers was acadians

I just wanted to say, I love this TL and am watching this awesomeness forthwith!

What really strikes me in a good way are,

1. The totally-not-WWII conflict between Germany and the USSR in the 1940s and its indecisive end,
2. How the USA has evolved into an arguably more powerful nation ITTL, and IMO more tolerant in many ways as well, despite losing the territory it did,
3. The way current world affairs have familiar-yet-different players for both good and ill (COUGHSouthAfricaCOUGH), and
4. New England being a leading Commonwealth realm, something you don't see every day!

How do Brooklyn and Queens fare, being independent from the rest of NYC? What are the economic implications of having to go through customs just to cross a river?

Great update! The Tri-City Region is an interesting and unique idea. If you don't mind me asking, here's a few questions:

  • Are there any secessionist movements in the Tri-City Region?
  • If WWII never happened what happened to Japan?
  • What's the status of renewable energy?
  • What happened to obscure political ideologies from OTL (technocracy, syndicalism, integralism, etc)?
