How did you do that? Did you tabulate it yourself?
Yes, and the easiest way to do it is to put the counties that swung D in 2016 into their own state in both 2012 and 2016, then add the R-swinging county 2016 and D-swinging county 2012 two-party totals, and add the 2016 third-party vote on top of it.

What does this mean for the popular vote totals nationally?

I only did a couple states (MA, PA, NC, VA, MN), but I think Trump might win the popular vote if every D-swinging county in 2016 voted like it did in 2012 (considering California alone had its vote gap widen by over a million).

What would CO, NV, NH, and NM look like do you think?

NV and NH would be no different since every county swung Republican.

Colorado:
Hillary Clinton/Tim Kaine: 1,160,095 (47.06%)
Donald Trump/Mike Pence: 1,090,525 (44.24%)
Others: 214,521 (8.70%)

New Mexico:
Hillary Clinton/Tim Kaine: 385,121 (48.06%)
Donald Trump/Mike Pence: 329,777 (41.15%)
Others: 86,528 (10.79%)

The biggest upset since when Truman beat Dewey…

This one was interesting. The Green Party got larger as a response to Romney’s regressive climate policies. They won the ever environmentally conscience Hawaii, becoming the first third party to win electoral votes in decades. They very well might have made it ever bigger in 2020 but following the election McKinney began to soil their image. In a live CNN interview people were shocked to see her baselessly accuse the president of running a child sex ring from a burger restaurant. It certainly didn’t add the party’s image of being full of “kooks”. Bernie Sanders was absolutely disguised by McKinney’s tin-foil fearmongering saying that “it distracts from the very real problems of the Romney administration” and left the Greens to become an independent once more.

Wouldn't a larger Green Party siphon lots of votes from the Democrats? It seems kind of strange to have Romney win by a reduced EC margin while one of the bluest states in the country defects to a third party.

What a coincidence that I have finished the forty second installment of this series on April Fools Day. Hope you enjoy this installment of my Seventh Party System series!

Bioko is an interesting territory, as unlike most of the outlying regions of the United States it has a strong right wing presence which consistently polls better than the National Union party.

The history of America's most Eastern territory comes from the Spanish-American war, wherein the US gained Puerto Rico, Bioko, and the Philippines as territories. While the Philippines would later become an independent country and Puerto Rico would become a state, Bioko remained a territory which served as America's forward base on the African continent.

The communist revolutions which engulfed most of Africa following decolonization resulted in the populace of Bioko becoming extremely reactionary as they remained keen to not let the island fall to the red menace. In fact, many on the island cheered as the 1980s brought about a wave of fascist dictatorships, eager to start doing business with these far right countries while turning a blind idea to the various atrocities which they committed. While anti-communism still lent itself to the National Unionist ideology the discovery of oil in 1996 completing turned the tables as businesses began flooding the tiny island territory. Following the 2004 surge in right wing ideologies the right wing Democratic Alliance of Bubi seized the parliament from the National Union and began passing major right wing reforms.

Chief among these reforms was the introduction of two new functional constituencies, one for Botuku, or Bubi tribal noblemen, and one for the Oil Industry, wherein each company's vote power was weighted according to the taxes which it paid to the Bioko territorial government. With the council being Bioko main chamber of parliament, as its House was deemed unnecessary due to the small size of the territory, right wing rule has been guaranteed ever since.

The elections of 2018 were no different from the ones before and in fact resulted in an even larger majority for the right wing alliance. The socially liberal Progress Party was nearly shut out of parliament as voters deemed their plans to decriminalize homosexual relationships as "cultural Marxism." In reaction, the new DAB government promised to crackdown harder on homosexuality than every before, ensuring that the island was completely cleaned of "communist queers."

Government:
Democratic Alliance of Bubi - A right wing party which vows to protect the traditions of the Bubi people and ensure the continuation of "democracy," they believe that a freer market will bring about a freer people, having eliminated all forms of welfare except for the gratuitous tax exemptions which both the Botuku and oil companies receive. They are also extremely reactionary in social terms, making Bioko the only territory to still enforce Prohibition, the only territory with just one abortion clinic, and the only territory where sex before marriage is criminalized. And of course, with gay marriage being completely illegal in the territory of Bioko, this law is a de facto ban on all homosexual relationships.
Anti-Revolutionary Party - A party even further to the right than DAB, they remain staunch opponents of both revolution and even democracy itself. They wish to completely eliminate the Senate so as to ensure "a less divided government" and have wish to eliminate the junior and senior councillors which are elected by popular vote as well. Instead they want to institute a system of government in which only citizens above a certain income have any say over the government, so as to ensure the "pesky commoners" never have an opportunity to turn the territory towards communism.
Business Party - A center right party which is ambivalent on social issues they remain firmly right wing on economic issues and continue to support more privatization efforts in Bioko, proposing that all public schools be abolished and replaced with private schools which they promise will provide children with "a sense of pride and accomplishment."

Supply:
Independents - Despite the fact that these representatives are affiliated with no formal party, they are de facto allies of the Business Party and remain firmly committed to whichever policies line the pockets of the wealthy.

Opposition:
National Union - The main center left parties in all American territories, they are the remnants of the National Union party established by FDR that once dominated the political system for decades on end. However unlike in most territories, here in Bioko the party has been relegated to the opposition, as the majority ethnic group of Bubis continue to back the DAB and ARP. And while the two sides share a disdain for communists the National Unionists equally disdains the destruction of the welfare state which the right wingers have perpetrated, which has become more or less complete here in Bioko.
Progress Party - The second largest opposition party in Bioko, they represent a brighter image for Bioko through the promotion of socially liberal values. And while the party managed to get its highest vote share yet in 2014, in the following two years they support has continued to wane, as the populace has proven that they reject any change to their age old traditions.
Missionary Party - The missionary party is a right wing, socially conservative party which represent the views of the Christian right. While their views would be considered pretty right wing in any territory and even most mainland states, here in far right Bioko they are laughed at by DAB and the ARP for their tolerance of the devil's drink, alcohol.
United Workers Party - A far left party stranded in a far right territory, this party represents the interests of the Fang minority which has been systematically discriminated against by the Bubi majority, unashamed of the fact that the Fang residing in Bioko are mere refugees of the fascist dictatorship which has carried out mass genocide of the Fang people in Gabon.
Movement for Biafra - A party for the Igbo minority in Bioko, they are also refugees of a genocide carried out by fascist dictators, only in Nigeria, not Gabon. Being discriminated against almost a bad as the Fangs, the MB preaches a social democratic ideology and remains committed to petitioning the federal government for an intervention in favor of the Biafra separatists.

Why would GA be that close?
Because if Hillary Clinton can get within 5% there than surely a conservative Democrat can win it by doing much better in rural areas than her and still holding onto the solid D areas that Clinton performed strongly in... Unless you meant that you think Manchin would win it more confortably?
