Proposals and War Aims That Didn't Happen Map Thread

Are the names of the proposed provinces listed?

No, sorry. I found the image on the Paradox Plaza forum, so I don't have a proper source for this.
Though from what I remember reading elsewhere:
1A, 2A - Buffalo
5A, 6A - Athabasca
5B, 6B - Alberta
5C - Saskatchewan
5D - Assiniboia

Greater Yugoslavia.png

Here we have Greater Yugoslavia, which Josip Broz Tito and other Yugoslav Irredentists sought to create. This enormous Socialist Federal Republic would've included all the constituent republics of OTL's Yugoslavia, as well as Albania, Bulgaria, Western Thrace, Greek Macedonia, Trieste, some or all of Austrian Carinthia, and, at one point, all of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Of course, thanks to the Tito-Stalin Split, these plans failed to take hold.

That looks...ambitious.

Man, did Greece get screwed over here.

Didn't the plans for greater yugoslavia involve Bulgaria giving up Pirin Macedonia to Yugoslav Macedonia?

They were also going to stick (The Bulgarian) Prin Macedonia in the United Macedonia.

I think that Slovenia might be minority Slovene.
As this is post WWII, I imagine that there will be massive populatoin movements. The non-Germans will probably get some sort of deal, though they may be expected to learn at least a little Slovenian.
Tito's rationale for including the Austrian land was "We helped liberate it from the Nazis, so we should get to keep it."
Too be fair, there were Austrians claiming they should keep Easton Tyrol, while the Yugoslavs made their claims mostly with Slovene populations (well, before the Nazis came around).

So I stumbled across these two "interesting" proposals for a partition of Iraq.

I don't see how they are "interesting" rather than just interesting. They both seem a bit flawed in where they place their borders, but the basic divide into a Sunni state, a Shia state and a Kurdish state makes a lot of sense.

Was this an actual proposal?

I suppose that if it has been proposed by someone, it's a proposal. I mean, wild plans based on something a crazy-eyed fire-eater from the South wrote in the Daily Racist back in 1861 count, so I don't see why this shouldn't. ;)

Was this an actual proposal?

I've seen the second one occasionally referred to as being a sketch of the "Biden-Cheney Plan". I do know that Joe Biden was in favor of partitioning Iraq but idk if he ever formulated a specific proposal.

Just check out mybullypulpit.com and you will get a good idea on how serious the first one was.

I actually bothered to look it up and I can't decide if it's a satire of what "conservative talk radio" sounds like or an example of it.

But considering I only stumbled across these via Google, I found them to be quite shareable, even if they likely aren't genuine proposals.

Imperial Federation.png

First Proposed in 1884, the Imperial Federation was an idea to prolong the life of the British Empire by transforming it from a colonial empire into a full-fledged global country. With a similar system to the United States, where all people within these lands would be granted citizenship and could vote for local parliaments, the hope was that the peoples within their colonies and dominions would want to remain part of the British Empire and the British could keep exploiting all their natural resources.

(This would potentially be their land circa 1914)

I suspect it might be genuine on their part. Only so much satire of that sort you can do without an audience before you vomit up your lungs,

I've never been clear on if the proposals for an imperial federation included the protectorates and protected states becoming a part of it (since technically they were not colonies).

And I've turned them into worlda patches.

The Shia state needs a much better name. Also, the border of Babylon doesn't make sense considering some historical Babylonian cities are now located in the Shia state.
