Pronounciation of the Latin alphabet letter <W>
Romanizations and transcription systems are not included, neither when the letter is not part of the official orthography or only occurs in loanwords.
The [w] pronounciations are the most widespread due to English orthographical influence. [v] occurs in Dutch, German, Polish, Kashubian, and Afrikaans. [β] occurs in southern Dutch (Belgium, Suriname), Turkmen, Ewe and Fon (in western Africa). pronounciation is only found in the Welsh language.
