Chiang and Mao, China's Paramount Freedom Fighters
The two cofounders and leaders of the largest Chinese resistance group known as the New Yihetuan Movement aka the New Boxer Rebellion, Chiang Kai-shek and Mao Zedong. Chiang is affectionately known as the People's Generalissimo while Mao is known as the Revolutionary Helmsman.
Despite Chiang being Kuomintang and Mao being Communist, they work together pretty well and have proven to be as large a thorn in Berlin's side as Trotsky is. The People's Generalissimo leads the New Yihetuans’ conventional army, the National Revolutionary Army while the Revolutionary Helmsman leads the guerrilla army - the People's Liberation Army. The Sublime State of Persia

A puppet of both the German and Ottoman Empires, the Sublime State of Persia has been ruled by the Qajar dynasty since 1785. After the Central Powers’ victory in the Weltkrieg, Persia found itself divided into two spheres of influence - that of the Ottomans and that of the Germans. On 15 December 1925, Ahmad Shah Qajar died and his 5 year old daughter, Irandokht Qajar, was crowned Shahbanu/Lady Shah/Empress.

Months later on 10 March 1926, a Brigadier-General in the Royal Persian Army by the name of Reza Khan moved quickly to dispose of his rivals in order to become regent of the young Shahbanu. The Persian Majlis/National Assembly convened the same day and confirmed Khan as Irandokht’s regent until she reached the age of 18. Under Khan’s regency, Persia has rapidly modernised and industrialised as well as secretly built up an impressive military right under the noses of Berlin and Istanbul.
In 1940, a 25 year old Irandokht married Khan’s 21 year old son, Mohammad Reza Khan who took his wife’s last name as his own and became Shahanshah/King of kings/Emperor of Persia. Mohammad Reza Qajar took the regnal name Mohammad Reza Shah. Mohammad has taken his father’s programs of modernisation and industrialisation to heart with his so-called White Revolution/the Shah and People Revolution (a series of far-reaching reforms)* and is starting to build a secret army of Achaemenid Empire-inspired super soldiers as well as cautiously and steadily bringing back the old Persian religion of Zoroastrianism.

No longer merely content to exploit the natives of the metaphorical new world, the Spanish Empire turned it's eyes towards the stars and the literal new worlds now within their reach. The people of Mars fought to the bitter end, but at the end of it all they succumbed to The Spanish Armada.
