As for China, it would be pretty interesting if the Communists still won instead of the Nationalists ITTL, assuming Imperial Japan is still crushed by the US.

The question is would the United States allow a communist China, we could pour billions into the KMT and now their is no Soviet Union to balance the scale in terms of aid

The USA could do that, and still see the KMT get its ass kick in, and see the Reds come out on top. The Nationalists was that bad and the Communists that good.

Mao was no military genius,he launched the long March after all, A big factor in Communist victory was the fact that Stalin practically handed Manchuria to them. One thing for certian here, the Soviets won't be fighting the Japanese any time soon. The KMT could surround Mao in his hill fort and blow it to kingdom come

The Reds still have the favor and support of the peasant majority of the Chinese State while Chiang favored the wealthy bankers and landlords. (And China 400 million at this time is 90 percent peasant.)

And the Reds can get they hands on all that left over Japanese gear and use it.

They didn't really do much fighting against the Japanese, they let the KMT do that, If anyone is benefiting from Japanese equipment it's the KMT.

Maybe it becomes a tripolar cold war with the United States taking the stand for freedom against Facism in Europe and Communism in Asia.

That, or the KMT could later go 'F-You' to the United States, and team up with Germany, renewing the Sino-German cooperation if they do win. (Kaiser K did it in A Valkyrie Rises Over Europe.)

They could take off on their own with a Chinese Facism which is based on Confucianism, very different from Europeon national Socialism

Is it correct to say the USSR is in a similar state to the Republic of China during the darkest days of the Second Sino-Japanese War?

assuming you mean Trotsky he's dead
Well, what he was probably trying to say is that butterflies could have resulted in an unsuccessful assassination attempt and/or Trotskyist ideas might gain more traction amongst Communist parties with Stalinism being discredited by it's defeat by the Nazis.

I'm honestly intrigued as to what is happening politically in France and this Burgundy entity at this time. Any chance they'll be discussed in any future updates?

Yes !
Thank you verry much. With USSR defeated, Fourth International would get far more support both in USSR and rest of the world. And many soviet communist would turn to surviving leader.
Another point would be that without american financial support Britain, after fall of France would be going towards bankruptcy. With Germany deafulting on prewar loans and no american massive war spending, world economy will go into depression, and that would result in Mexico, where Trotsky was, be even more leftist....
