Tourism banner for a unified Guianas. The nauseatingly cute slogan reflects the large Arawak and Carib (indigenous) populations of the three Federal States as well as its location to the southeast of the Caribbean Islands, at the "beginning" relative to Brazil, Europe, and Asia. POD for their unification and greater development is an earlier independence led by a Gandhian solidarity movement among the large Indian populations of Guyana and Suriname, which gain independence in 1947 along with India. French Guiana follows in 1960 with France's many African countries - the federation forms as one country in 1972.

A few party emblems for a (semi-)pluralistic United States with a fairly early PoD (and it's very much inspired by a map I'm working on). All of these five parties are represented in at least one chamber of congress. Sorry that they aren't super imaginative.

The first emblem (left in the top row) is for the Atlantic Party of America, a conservative liberal party that was founded primarily with the issue of ending American isolationism and increasing diplomatic and trade ties with the other nations on the Atlantic coasts. Ideologically think Rockefeller Republican. It is the third-biggest party and frequently tips the scales on battles in congress.

The next emblem (middle in the top row) is the Republican Party, the successor to the Democratic-Republican Party. It's conservative, isolationist, and has a significant libertarian faction. Together with the Farmer-Labor Party it's one of the two big parties.

The last emblem in the top row is the aforementioned Farmer-Labor Party. It's a democratic socialist party with an emerging green politics wing and is divided on the issue of foreign policy but tends to be very skeptical of trade deals.

The fourth party is the Popular Party of Cuba, a separatist party that advocates for, big surprise, Cuban interests in general and partially Cuban independence. It's rather center-left but also has a "pure" centrist faction. Also has a chapter in Florida to represent the interests of Cubans (and Spaniards) living there. [Oh and in case you wanted to ask: yes, I drew that Cuban trogon on the logo myself.]

Last but not least is the Free Texas Party, which is a Texan nationalist party. It often aligns itself with the Republican Party in terms of economic and social issues but the strong Texan identity ensures the party's survival. While primarily active in Texas it also has chapters in Oklahoma and Comancheria.

I'm a newbie when it comes to graphics - how would people say is the best way of creating those semicircular dot pics of parliaments? Is there a template somewhere?

Thanks

This website will generate one for you. It's just a matter of plugging in numbers and pressing some buttons.

And this one generates Westminster-style ones.

I'm not a hundred percent certain this is the right thread, but this is a propaganda poster of the Mexican resistance against the invasion of the Union of Socialist Workers Council Republics (Basically an American USSR) for 1923.

Ecoterrorist Sami bikers! Very loosely based on the last film I watched a couple weeks back, but hopefully not as sucky or illogical:

A reformed Ottoman Empire in which the titles of Valide Sultan, Haseki Sultan, and Grand Vizier eventually result in a Swiss-style council government. Purple indicates that this office is open to either gender. The POD is that after Selim the Drunkard's murder, Ottoman senior officials formally adopt a system to disperse power and prevent further crises in the empire. In 1914 there's a republican revolution in which all offices are elected, although in practice the first gentleman is always from the high nobility and the first lady is always his wife. There is also a reform of the millet system in which any ethnic and religious community of 100 men, 100 women, and 100 children can obtain some degree of self-governance so long as they plead loyalty and agree to pay taxes (millets can be exempt from military service if they pay an extra tax to the emperor, known as jizya, so long as there are sufficient soldiers, and there are now 23 different Muslim millets alongside 6 Christian, 3 Jewish, 1 Druze, and 1 Yazidi one).

stupid question, but has anyone ever seen a carrier conversion for the Olympic-class liners like the Titanic? Have a situation where it might come up.

ISIS attempts a rebrand after Trump's election, reaching out to anti-American non-Muslims in Latin America as well as presenting themselves as the opposition to Trump and the defenders of the climate and non-white peoples. They issue new propaganda videos in English, Spanish, and Quechua (not pictured).
