Our new alternate solar system,
/
Lively solar system
In this new timeline, there are some changes to our solar system, some planets getting warmer, Some new planets, (Lots of) planets (and moons) becoming habitable, some gaining new moons,
1, Sun
Start with the center, the center of the solar system! The Sun’s estimated lifespan has grown by 2.5x . Increasing its lifespan 5 billion more years, It’s expansion is slowed by 40%, It’s white dwarf-part will last for 5x as long, As long as 21 (14 not named) other stars, Sirius, Trappist, Proxima, Alpha, Betelgeuse, Rigel, Vega. They will last long enough for small new planets, Proxima, Trappist, Alpha will still be red dwarfs, The Other stars will usually be the size of Proxima, or jupiter, (Biggest is 6.5x jupiter size) It will all be clustered into a big fraction, 3 main galactic civilizations might develop to take over all of this “Universe” (since there’s only 21 stars), The diameter of this “Universe” is only 92 lys. Proxima is just 1.2 lys away! Rigel is so bright, it’s visible in the daylight sky! (P.S other fractions of other galaxies will be clustered too. It’s not like we’re all the galaxies)
2. Mercuria,
The First planet! Mercury is a plain rocky world in our timeline. But in this timeline it’s a bit more interesting… Mercury has a atmosphere and magnetosphere. Allowing water to form. Colonies Of The U.S, U.K, China, Japan, Australia, Russia, canada and Germany grow on the surface. It’s rotation is 2.5x shorter. About 15.5 days. About 340 million live there.
3. Vinus
Vinus is like the earth But it’s atmosphere is toxic.
4. Terra & Luna
The 3rd planet. Terra is same as earth in OTL, Except that global warming and sea level rising are slowed down 30%. It also gains a new moon. And is locked in a binary orbit with Luna. Life on here is 14% more advanced. Human life expectancy is 2.3x more.
Luna - Luna is similar to OTL Moon. it’s orbit is 12 days long. It is 2.79x more massive, and 1.93x bigger.
It’s A & M. It’s day is 1.02 days. Small ocean life and Fish thrive in the oceans of luna. The water makes 73% of the surface. It also has a lot more fresh water than earth. As freshwater makes up 16% of the water.
Edinrus - Edinrus is a Moderately moon. About 1.24x the mass of OTL Moon. Most of it is in a cold icy era as it is in a mini ice age. Most of the life is located near the equator. Small mammals and plants grow even closer. It is warming around 0.01 - 0.1 fahrenheit per year.
5. Alactrus
The 1st new planet! Alactrus is a world between Earth & Mars. It’s size is .85 of earths. It’s color is mostly green too, The similaries don’t end there too. 70% of the surface is water, and Life is 75% similar to earth. Rotation is 25 hours, It has 2 moons too! Axial tilt is 26.5 degrees also!
Viryrie - This moon is the size of Ganymede, It orbits every 16 days. It rotates every 26 hours. It’s mostly a cool temperate forest world. With large oceans and ponds. Most of this life is mammmals and Ocean creatures thanks to the large amount of water.
It also has rings like Titania. Although much visible.
Floeaid - Floeaid is a moon the size of Callisto. This moon is rich in metal. It’s also somewhat cold here. It rotates every 27 days. It’s rotation is 1.2 days. Axial tilt is 19.2 degrees. Most life is located near the equator.
6. Mars,
5th in line. Mars is now known as Blue and red and white, As white stands for the ice caps, Red stands for the unusually red rocks and plants. Blue stands for The Ocean. It has a atmosphere and Magnetosphere. (This was written after Juno. But let’s just say A & M now) Many animals live in the oceans and surface. It’s moons are 25x bigger and orbit farrer. Phobos is about 1.2x size of our moon. It has a atmosphere and orbits every 24 hours. Deimos is 3/4 the size of our moon. Has a small atmosphere, deimos rotates every 25 hours and orbits every 3 days. They both have simple celled life with plants.
7, Vesta & Ceres,
A double planet system, It became like this, because of Junos’ large mass. The 2 dwarfs came too close and became a duel. They also have a atmosphere.
Allowing water to form on their surface. Small plants and animals thrive on both of the planets. Small human colonies are on the surface. Each having between 10,000 - 25,000. They also seem to have a major moon, forming a triple system. Scientists say that. In 25,000,000 years. The moon will be kicked out into the outer system or possibly be captured by one of the gas giants. The moon is about 1 third of our moon. Vesta & ceres are also 5x bigger.
8.Pallas & Hygiea
The 2nd duel planet,
9, Asteroid belt / Vallania
Some changes are made to the asteroid belt. Small object from the size of OTL Rhea to TTL Ganymede.
The diameter is .8x the size in OTL.
Which 4 of them are big and massive enough to be considered a Dwarf planet. The largest of these, Vallania is big and massive enough to be a planet. It is 1.23x the size of TTL Ganymede. And mass of 1.48x.
Simple (and complex) celled life devlop on the biggest of these dwarfs.
10, Juno.
Nothing much happens to juno except the moons. It gains 3 new habitable moons. The biggest of these is 1.95x the size of our moon! And the smallest is still 1.24x! The old moons are 2x the size of them in our timeline. They also all have atmospheres like earth.
Io - Io’s volcanism is reduced by 50% and it gains a atmosphere and magnetosphere. It’s warmed by large tidal forces by jupiter. It’s actually a bit hotter than earth! Water forms on it’s surface and complex celled life develop. It has 3 main islands (90% of surface is water) called Strusera, Aland and Edune. It is also NOT tidally locked to jupiter. Taking 16 hours to rotate. Human population is (somewhat) low, at 655 million. Axis is 19.5. Climate is similar to The Amazon. Wet and humid.
Europa - Europa also has oceans, Atmosphere and a magnetosphere. Tidally heating make it a bit colder than Io, But still cool. Also it has continents instead of being a water-world. They are called Cleqeth, Loarisa, Imia and Kraupand. It also has mammals and Complex ocean life. These bacteria are a “cousin” of the bacteria of Ceres & Vesta, The most popular theory is that a large chunk of ceres (Containing simple celled bacteria, By a collision.) flew near the jupiter system. Breaking up and flying in Europa, Ganymede, Callisto, and other parts of the solar system. Io just barely caught life. If it was in the position it was in 2 hours ago. Then it would have no life since there was no bacteria to hit it. Plants are very common. Animals and humans are “unusually” friendly to each other. Also the human population on here is 2.75 Billion. It rotates every 25.5 Hours and has seasons like earth with an axis of 25.5. Climate is similar to North carolina (Slovenia for europeans). Snowing every so often. About ⅔ years it snows. It has 5 countries also.
Ganymede - Ganymede is a very large object in the solar system. About ¾ the size of earth! It’s cilimate is similar to that of New york (Czech republic for europeans). It’s gravity is barely lower than earth’s. (see europa for life details.) It’s colonized by humans and 8 countries emerge from this. It’s populated with animals similar to that of earth. population is 3.35 Billion. Rotation period is 24.02 hours. Axis is 23.5.
Callisto - Callisto has a small atmosphere and magnetosphere. It’s climate is just BARELY hot for Life. Similar to Fairbanks, (Iceland for Europe) Plants are very uncommon. And Small colonies of animals and Complex bacteria grow near the equator. Where the climate is similar to Maine. It’s wet and rainy out. It’s rotation is 24.01 hours and Axial tilt is 39.5 Degrees. The Population is 855 Million.
(WIP)
11, Satutane,
Enceladus - It is another water world. Most of this world, It’s a small world. It’s one of the waterworlds of the solar system. Enceladus is manly inhabited iby small fish and underwater plants. It is tidally locked to saturn, Axial tilt is 9.3 degrees.
Dione -
Rhea -
Titan - Titan is a large moon, larger than mercury!
It’s large gravity makes the moon comfortable to move around. It now has liquid water too. Allowing mammals and large ocean creatures to develop.
Moderately large trees also thrive on this moon.
It’s rotation is 24.02 hours. Axial tilt is 24.2 degrees.
Iapetus - Iapetus is the COLDEST moon of saturn. Since Iapetus’s orbit is more than 5x as long as titan’s. It gets barely any tidal heating at all! There is lot’s of Extremophiles here. Tidal heating only warms the moon by 4 - 7 Fahrenheit. Most simple celled life here is located underground. And the small surface colonies grow near the equator. The axial tilt is 4.6 degrees.
12, Voiaica,
13, Oranos,
Oranos is gas giant, nothing much changes except the moons And that it’s axis is 52.3 instead of 83 .(Dragging the moons with it) The sizes are 1.28x bigger. (P.S all moons have a & m)
Miranda - Miranda Is one of the tiniest objects in the solar system known to have life. Large Tidal forces heat up the moon to Earth-Like temperatures. Turning it into a real waterworld. Many simple ocean creatures develop, Mostly small fish. Every hundreds of miles, you’ll find small islands around 1 - 50 Miles in length. Small towns of 10,00 - 25,000 develop too. Human population is 950K. It is Tidally locked since it’s small. Climate is similar to columbia. (Or a wet Gibraltar) Water covers 96.48% Of the surface. (See europa for life details) Axial tilt is 5.6 degrees.
Ariel - Ariel is a Somewhat small moon. It’s Rotation is 1.07 earth days. It’s Climate is slightly cooler than Miranda since it gains less tidal heating from it. Water cover’s 92% of the surface. It is one of the few Moons in the Solar system to not Develop life from The bacteria collision from ceres, It just had the right conditions to evolve life. Small land life also develop. Axial tilt is 29.4 degrees
Umbriel - Umbriel is a moderately large moon. Most resources on this planet is Iron, Gold and Oil. It’s climate can be compared to Nebraska. Most life is located into the oceans as it recently gained a atmosphere. (around 100 million years ago) axial tilt is 13.8 degrees.
Titania - Titania is a moderately large moon. It’s mostly made of icy rocks. Since tidal forces heat up the moon, Most of the ice melts. Life has existed 2.6 billion years. It is the 2nd moon to have rings. Made from a 25 km wide asteroid flew in the roche limit and collapsed into a ring. It has mammals and complex ocean life. If humans didn't settle there, wait 250 million more years and it’ll have intelligent life there.
Oberon - Oberon is a relatively large and cold moon. Average temperature is about -10 - 25 farhen. Small pockets of life devleop in the warmer regions of the moon. Most of this moon is icy and some small greenish like plants.
13, Dunicea
14, Neptunica
Neptunica’s (main) moon's increase in size by 1.4x,. It also has a large ring system even bigger than saturn (Note: Triton is not captured by neptune) (‘nother note: All moons are A & M and are spherical shaped)
Despina - Despina is the Hottest moon in the system, It’s a tiny moon, And one of the tiniest to evolve life. It is also a waterworld, 98.94% is covered. You’ll mostly find small plants. If you had a x5 magnifying glass, You would see 13.4% of the Bacteria cells. Most human colonies avoid the expensive way of floating cities. They are located near the ice caps where small tiny grasslands exist. Human population is 74K. The largest “city”, Icenburg has only 23K. Ironically, It is owned by Iceland. (the 2nd icelandic colony in space, 1st is Icelandic northern Ganymede)
Galatea - Galatea is the Possibly most habitable in this system. Animals and small trees dominate the surface. It was discovered it has the largest supervolcano, Even almost 2x the size of mars which is 2x larger than earth's’! It also has the largest drop. Which is 6 miles deep. Thanks to the deep depth and Weak gravity, It would take you about 9 minutes to fall down!
Larissa - There’s not much to say ‘about this barren moon. Except it’s usually mined for resources. Mainly because the moon contains a lot of freshwater, Iron, and Oil.
Proteus - Proteus is a moderately small moon,
It’s pretty cold (Same as callisto). Small plants and animals live near the equator. Other than that, the only things that populate the Poles are SImple celled bacteria. Complex bacteria lives 5 - 10 degrees lower/higher. Water makes up 72% of the surface.
Neredid - Neredid is one of the coldest objects of the solar system. Colder for Liquid nitrogen. So it is one of the only objects in the solar system to NOT have Life.
15, Triton
Triton is the 14th planet from the sun. It has a moderately large atmosphere to gain heat.
It is barely hot to gain life. It is 2.5x more massive and 3x bigger. Nearby tidal forces from Neptune heat up the moon to life-forming Temperatures. Plants are about 2.2x darker to observe more heat. other small forms of life are only 1 - 3 inches long. Other than that you’ll only find complex bacteria. Triton is also eerily beautiful, It has been proven those bacterias are 15% similar to earth.
16, Pluto & Charon
Pluto & Charon's’ Mass are 1.5x In TTL (this-Timeline) Pluto and Charon have Liquid Nitrogen too as pluto and Charon orbit 50 years closer. Fragile bacterial colonies thrive in the liquid nitrogen on both of the planets. Pluto & Charon also during the Cold season, (They have a axis of 14.6 degrees) Bacteria migrates into the deep soils, They still for around 13 - 28 years, Although some types remain on it.
17, Platoea Belt
Platoea was a planet. Or at least to. It was a large asteroid that was ejected into the outer solar system where it got ripped to pieces by neptune, However it didn’t become a moon. Instead it was flown even farther. Becoming a belt.
18, Eris & Haumea.
Changes for earth
The earth would likely be changed quite a bit or a lot depending if you care. Here’s some things that might happen.
NASA and the space race - The space race would be very changed. Other countries such as UK, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, And possibly many others. Could also join the space race. Early NASA conforms life in the solar system, But are surprised to see how much life is in the solar system. So the space colonies are limited to almost barren worlds. Such as Mercury, Venus, Iapetus and others.
