quick question, why is communism so good at splitting countries exactly north and south? discuss

If Communism had its way, none of those countries would have been split in the first place. The split was due to both capitalism and communism opposing one another.

@oshron: I really like your star-patterns, it's motivated me to post the rest of my alt. U.S. Flags as well.

Starting with one you've already seen, The Flag of the 13 Colonies:
U.S. Flag 0 (Flag of the 13 Colonies - 13 stars).png

Secondly, the Flag of the Confederation (Articles of Confederation era - 17 stars):

Next, the first Flag after the Constitution (19 stars):

ok, i had this idea for a new flag of the united states, what if insted of every star representing on state, every point represents one state
example: 50 states: there are 10 5 pointed stars and 51 states: 17 3 pointed stars and so forth

and for the prime numbers like 53, 59, 61, 67, 71, 73, 79, 83, 89, 97 etc. it would be that number of circles/dots

such as this i made for a 50 state (the circle is really bad and i apologize)

Interesting...
(Potentially confusing to inter-timeline travelers though. :p)

My next one is actually one I'm having trouble deciding on, it's the flag post-War of 1812 (21 stars).
I've narrowed it down to two configurations that look equally good in the flag waver site.

Flag 4 in my TL, circa 1818 (28 stars), is also one of the more bland. It's just a rectangle of stars:

Flag 5 is circa 1820 (31 stars):

Flag 6 circa 1836 (34 stars):

Continuing, Flag 7 circa 1845 (42 stars - another boring rectangle):

Flag 8 circa 1852 (46 stars):

Flag 9 circa 1860 (50 stars - last flag before my TL's version of the Civil War):

{Time 4 Backstory!: In my TL slavery was earmarked for gradual abolition right from the last days of the Continental Congress. So what the wealthy "landed gentry" of the Plantation Class in the south did was flat out illegal by Federal Law. That's why ITTL the "Civil War" is always referred to as the Southern Rebellion. The Rebellion had their statehoods revoked and reduced to the status of territorries from which new states would be carved, a process referred to as Repatriation.}

Flag 11 - Repatriation Era 1865 (45 stars)

Flag 12 - Repatriation Era 1866 (50 stars - this is the most commonly seen flag depicting the 50 star Union)
