I'm tempted to do something with the idea of 5 Conservatives in the back of a cab.

Major: [To Redwood] It's all your fault.
Redwood: No it isn't!
Major: Yes it is!
Flight: Give over you two!
Swayne: Who's paying for the fare?

*Arbuthnot looks off sad out of a slowly steaming up window*

Paddy Ashdown: I'd like to welcome you all to the New Liberal front. We've got a great team, lots of new faces. Let's get out there and prepare for a Liberal Democrat government!

Simon Hughes: Uh, a Liberal what?

Paddy Ashdown: You know, a Liberal government!

Norman Baker: What do you mean?

Paddy Ashdown: You know, a Liberal government. H.H. Asquith, Lloyd George, Liberal leaders in Number.... Number....

Malcolm Bruce: Number 10, Paddy.

Paddy Ashdown: Number 10!

Malcolm Bruce: I know, I'd serve next door as Chancellor.

Paddy Ashdown: Yes, and Malcolm here would serve in Number 9.

Alan Beith: It's was so long ago, I don't think anyone here has the slightest idea of what you're talking about, Paddy.

Paddy Ashdown: Listen listen listen, chaps. It is the aim of the Liberal Democrats to be....to be....

Ming Campbell: Incompetent!

Paddy Ashdown: No! In power!

Shadow Cabinet: Oh yes, right.

Paddy Ashdown: We get elected, and form a government.

Shadow Cabinet: Ah yes.

Charles Kennedy: So you mean we become Labourites?

Paddy Ashdown: No!

Vince Cable: We just have their policies.

Paddy Ashdown: Well you're getting closer. I'll be a Liberal Democrat Prime Minister, and you'll all be in the cabinet.

Shadow Cabinet: Oh yes, right, good.

Norman Baker: Uh, what's a cabinet?

Paddy Ashdown: Oh dear....

I've always quite liked the Labour on defence one:

Interestingly I found this in the archives, which puts me in mind of a situation in which Labour are the pro-nuclear hawks and the Tories are the anti-nuclear doves (at least in the public conscious);

maybe something like in the US with the more left wing party being 'NeoConservative/Interventionist' while the right wing party is more Paleoconservative/Non-Interventionist in their approach.
