Now, now, let's see where this goes for now. Perhaps we just share the same muse. :p

Also, wouldn't the logo look better turned upside down so it forms a V?
Its probably more same general atmosphere (or sharing the same muse). In depth, the SF is very different from AJND US.

Seems very similar to A Jovian Night's Dream.

It's quite similar, though the Solar Federation (the name is misleading, it doesn't control most of the Solar System, Venus is the only planet/moon it entirely controls) is quite a bit more liberal (mostly socially, however the SF doesn't have a technocratic economy, so you could sort of say economically I guess) than AJND US, though Venus, being controlled by Canadian Social Credit-y types and Bryanite populists (but more corrupt), is not exactly socially liberal:p And the SF isn't a 1950s US retrofuture.

And how's social credit working out for them?

The Venus Social Credit party was in power from 2206-2232, and they're the main opposition to the VFL and the second largest party on Venus, but the VFL still clearly is the largest party on Venus. They didn't implement any Social Credit polices when they were in power.

Lorenzo Tenorio took over as Senate Majority Leader following the retirement of long-time Senate leader Jake Dupree. Tenorio is the son of Samoan American Mormons who were both professors at Brigham Young University in Salt Lake City, and studied political science at Stanford University. After graduation, he worked as a Congressional staffer for many years before returning home to Utah to take up a seat in the State House. He was term-limited after 4 2-year terms and served as Speaker of the House the final two years. He gained an early reputation as a fiscal hawk, and managed to unseat moderate two-term Senator Jayson Grant Bennett in the 2112 primaries. Following his election to the Senate, his fiscal cutting prowess seemed to have waned and he became a bog-standard big business Republican--he became more well known as a fundraiser and networker, and he became well liked by Republican leaders, serving three terms as the chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee before becoming Majority Whip in 2131 and then Majority Leader in 2135 following the retirement of Dupree.

The career of Bella Ordonez could be written up as one of accidental promotions. Trained and schooled as an atomic scientist, she was first elected to the Atomic Sciences Sub-Sequence of Lakshmia as a write-in candidate when a few friends decided it'd be funny as a joke. She eventually became the Sub-Sequences secretary as an inoffensive, compromise candidate. Ordonez quickly wanted out of it, so she decided to run for the U.S. House against 58-year House veteran Heather Gubbard, who was then the Ranking Member on the House Ways and Means Committee. However, she defeated Gubbard in a landslide after a serious corruption and campaign finance scandal hit. Gutting it out for two terms, Ordonez decided to run as a sacrificial lamb against High Plains Senator Nancie Morton, who was then the Senate Majority Whip. However, she managed another surprise victory over Morton following a sex scandal involving under aged Senate Pages. Ordonez decided to suck it up and serve one term, but she became very popular amongst her fellow Senate Democrats and even Democratic activists for her dry, self-deprecating sense of humor (it wasn't humor) and for her energetic speaking style (she really just wanted to get the speeches done with). Because of all this, she accidentally stumbled her way into the Senate Minority Leader position, though she's decided to delegate most tasks long-term Democratic Whip Dallas Pope while she stares longingly at her old atomic science text books in her office.

I had a bit of fun while writing that.

Anyway, APEA? Another union?

Academics and Professional Employees of America. A Democratic-leaning professional, white collar union.

So she just fell upward then?
I kinda feel sorry for her really.

This is her, every single day

(and God help her when the Democrats gain control of the Senate)

Senator from High Plains?

High Plains is a state on Venus.

I have a feeling she'll end up President. :p

You might very well think that but I couldn't possibly comment.

Count me with the crowd of people finding Ordonez' career history amusing :D

How has Mormonism fared in AJND? Has it gotten stronger with the splintering of Catholicism and the seeming decline of some Protestant denominations thanks to Columbianism, or has it declined?

Mormonism is going strong and have expanded quite well on the frontier due to their heavy emphasis on missionary work. The Nauvoo Legion has been revised (sort of) and used frequently as a frontier militia alongside the Minutemen and other militia groups. Frontier Mormons get along real well with Columbianists.

Just don't mention the State of Deseret.

Bella Ordonez's career vaguely reminds me of an exaggerated version of our jokes about Elizabeth Warren being forced into becoming President by adoring fans despite not wanting to be.
